 A large yawn escaped Shadow and he stretched, his tail high in the air as he did so. He sat down and licked a paw, smiling as he admired the view. His dreams of becoming an Alpha were still there, and he was determined to make a pack as soon as he knew he was good enough. And every Alpha needed a mate....
His smile softened as he turned his head to look at Nani, sleeping by him. He couldn't help but to lick her cheek fondly, and he hoped she wasn't awake. It wouldn't be good for his reputation if others knew he was soft. Of course, it was just the two of them, right? He leaned down for a quick nuzzle and licked her nose before backing away.
His ears flicked curiously when her swollen stomach became visible. Those plants really must be something, he thought. if it makes her fat so quickly. He thought her scent had gotten strange, as well, but he blamed her vegetarian diet for that, too. He had never met any other vegetarians besides Nani and so he did not know that her recent weight gain and her changing scent were signs of her developing pregnancy. Near the river dividing the Neutral lands, close to the Eastern territory where Shadow and Nani lived, was a pink helix, trembling nervously, ears pressed flat against his head and eyes wary and darting here and there. He took a quick drink before dashing off to hide in a nearby forest and he licked his nose some, longing for more water but too afraid to go back for more.
Comhnall dipped his head lower as he padded deeper into the forest, his close proximity to the Eastern lands bringing back memories that brought a blush to his cheeks. He had remembered the day he and Nani had met as they so often had, and how they had ate some heart-shaped mushrooms and… and…. If it was possible, his whole face seemed to burn. When he woke up that day, he remembered nothing, but as the days wore on, bits and pieces of what had happened came back to him. He loved Nani, yes, but he didn’t think he’d ever do what he did so soon. And she had acted so unlike herself. He had been so ashamed of what he had done, even if Nani was practically asking for it, that he had avoided her for who knew how long. Months? Years? It was hard to tell when he didn’t have company and merely lived for the faint hope that Nani would come to him, even though he made that practically impossible by avoiding her. He could only hope that, if they did happen to meet, she didn't remember what he had.
Hoping to escape the thoughts of shame, guild, and sadness, he curled around the base of a tree, folded his front paws over his nose, and dozed under the filtered rays of the warm sun through the leaves.

 Nani felt a soft tongue on her cheek, and squeezed her eyes together, before she opened them slowly, feeling woozy and disoriented from the lack of sleep he had had last night. And the night before. And the night before. The guilt was getting to her terribly, and she new that sooner or later Shadow would figure out that she wasn't just gaining weight.
Nani had figured out the fact that she was preggo a week or so back, seeing as she had been very sick, and having icky cravings, and then she felt something moving around in her tummy, which she knew was definitely not normal for her. This also helped her figure out why she'd woken up in Comhnall's cave that day, and probably why he'd been hiding from her ever since. She'd gone out on several occasions to talk to the pink helix about it, but with no luck.
And now, as she looked up at Shadow, the painful guilt stabbed at her stomach some more. Or was that the pups? Either way, it hurt. "Good morning.... Shadow..." rolling onto her paws (she was too fat to get up otherwise xD) she leaned into him, not looking into his eyes through the extreme guilt. She wondered if Shadow had noticed how she didn't look at him directly anymore.... Hopefully not. She did make it up with extra lovey-dovey snuggliness all the time.
Speaking of which...
Nani gently nuzzled Shadow, lapping at his face, before pulling away and giving herself a shake. Time to go on another excursion to talk to daddy dearest about his little 'gifts'.
"I'm going to go out and find some plants, okay?" she murmured with a soft smile, trying hard not to turn her eyes away, "I'll be back in a while, love." one more little lick, and Nani was moving out of the door, head down as she slipped onto the forest path. Bellino was quite a stunning helix. He was beautiful, like a girl, but he held the proud pose of a man in his stance. If one were to simply glance, they would see Nani, with her piercing blue eyes and striking white fur. Take a closer look, however, and you could see the lack of pink cherry blossoms, and more bluebells. They could have been twins, and that was pretty darn close.
They were cousins.
Bellino came down from the North every month for about a week to check up on his sweet-hearted cousin. He was very overprotective of her, being the last of her family and all. The gay helix had taken on the role of 'big brother', but the way he had done so was taken a little too seriously. Almost to the point of stalkerish. Yeah, he was his cousin's stalker.
Anyways....
Bellino sat quietly in the little dug out on the side of the road that he had made for his 'Nani-observing'. He hadn't seen much of her recently, and was beginning to become worried, when he spotted the white angel stepping down the path way, head bowed in a very submissive manner. Ears perked with excitement, Bellino rose to his feet....
Only to smell the overpowering scent of pregnancy all over his innocent little cousin.
Bellino's nose was strong. He could smell another helixes fear a good twenty or so miles away. And this scent of pregnancy, along with some male's stench, was ALL over Nani. A little switch went off in his head, and he growled a bit, rage building. Wasn't that hard to get Bellino mad.
Waiting for Nani to pass, he slid onto the path, scenting the ground. She'd just come from his cave, whoever he was. Snarling, he bounded out to Nani's home, head held high.
"You! Sick pervert of this residence! Come out here this instant!" the Nani-look alike snapped, bright blue eyes blazing furiously. No one knocked up his precious cousin and got away with it.....

"Rise and shine, sunshine." Shadow said playfully when she spoke. He curled around her when she leaned against him, his eyes widening slightly. If it was possible, she seemed to be getting heavier. He wondered if she was feeling all right, since there seemed to be small movements coming from her bloated stomach. "Nani." he started, but was cut off by her nuzzle. He happily nuzzled her back, tail wagging.
He had noticed her sudden shyness, her fearful eye contact with him lately, and he frowned when another appeared. He tried to be nicer to her lately, thinking it was something he'd done to make her afraid of him. He had even gone so far as to stop bringing her the heads of the prey he killed but that didn't seem to help much.
"Are you sure?" he replied, raising a brow. He was subtly trying to tell her that, in case she hadn't noticed, those plants of hers were kind of getting her out of shape, and that could mean death. He wanted to go with her, but she had been determined to go alone for a few months now. All he could do was watch as she left with a disapproving frown. The last few times he had followed after her, she discovered him and the sadness her eyes showed made him worried about following her more.
When she was out of sight, he sighed and padded gloomily to the back of the cave. He had hunted recently, so there was no reason to hunt again. He decided to wait until Nani's return. However, it wasn't long until a Gamma male, with some sort of flower design on his leg and a heart on his shoulder, came by and started insulting him. Bristling, Shadow bared his fangs and threw himself at the male. He would not let complete stranges insult him about his attitude towards Nani (which wasn't even perverted in the first place).

Nani wandered through the forest, sniffling around quietly, her ears gently pinned back as she attempted to search out the father of her children... That sounded so bizarre.... Anyways, when she picked up his scent her ears perked, and she followed like a basset hound to her prey. She stepped into the forest, and immediately spotted the pink helix. It wasn't like he blended in well or anything.
"Comhnall." she murmured softly, not wanting to spook the poor guy, "Comhnall, we need to talk. Right now." she stated, gently nuzzling the side of his face, before she gave a flinch. Oooh.... Kicking pups.... Kicking..... Pups.... Gah, the pain was terrible!
Bellino had been brought up on elegance and good balance. So, when Shadow lunged towards him, he slid easily out of the way, lips curling back to reveal sharp, white, pointy teeth. He lurked behind the other, stalking him in a slow, hunting like movement, circling 'the enemy'.
"You disgusting beast. You did that to my baby girl, my Nani. I'll kill you. I'll pull your throat out." he snarled, eyes scanning the other cautiously for any signs of a weak spot. Being a Gamma he learned how to find the weak spot of his enemies before he took them down. And he had a LOT of practice doing that aswell.
"How could you, she's just a girl! Still so young, with so much of a lif ahead of her!" right ankle looks weak... he stared the ankle down, before swiftly jumping in, careful not to leave himself open for any damage.

Comhnall groaned when Nani nudged him and he pawed sleepily at the air, as if that would stop the prods. He heard his name being called and would have ignored it and slept on if it hadn't insisted on calling him again. Too fearful to ignore it twice, and assuming it was a scary fellow, he immedietly got on his paws and was about to show submission when he realized it was only Nani. "Oh." was all he could say before his cheeks flushed.
"W-What are you doing here, Nani?" he mumbled quietly, looking at his paws. He had looked away too quickly to notice Nani's swollen belly but his nose twitched curiously at her changing scent.
Shadow, irritated with his first miss, used his momentum to spin on his paws and face the stranger. The male, however, had gone to his other side, and was circling him. Shadow bristled his mane and his eyes glinted as he stared head on at the male, challenging him.
"Nani?" Shadow asked, confusion and surprise mingling in his voice. "You know her?" He wondered how Nani could be considered his "baby" if her parents had been killed... unless.... His fangs gleamed with fury and he lept towards the male again, ignoring his words, swerving to dodge his strike, and circling quickly to try and claw at the male's side. He had assumed Bellino was a male who had a harem, and that Nani was a apparently a part of it. Well, he'd show this male that she belonged to no one but him.

Nani sighed tiredly. She didn't want to have an argument with Comhnall, but he was really acting stupid right now. He knew, she could tell, even though he wasn't looking at her. Pressing her nose under his chin, she swiftly pushed Comhnall's face up in her direction so he could see her. All of her.
"I'm here about this," she gestured to her swllen stomach, "Look at me Comhnall. I'm a blimp. And I can feel them inside of me. And I know for a fact that these couldn't possibly belong to Shadow, considering I think I would have known if he jumped me in the middle of the night." her tired eyes looked up at Comhnall, to weak to give him a look that said 'Try and tell me they're not your pups, bud.'
She sighed and moved towards him, pressing her face against his chest, "I... I want to know what you're going to do about this... Shadow's oblivious now, but eventually these pups are going to make themselves visible to the world around them, and then what? What will you do?" she asked softly, ears folded back as she felt the puppies squirming around some more, obviously feeling her discomfort.
Bellino 'tsked' as his attack was easily dodged, and hit the ground, rolling just under the other's claws and back to his feet a few feet off, continuing his circling, a snarl tearing from his throat now. So, this stupid punk of a helix did know his Nani, and wasn't going to deny it either. His ears twitched a bit at the scond part of the answer, however. What, this guy couldn't see the resemblance?... He must've been really dumb...
"Know her? Of course I know her! We're related!" he snapped, giving the other an incredulous look, "Her father left me in charge of her if he ever passed away! I've known Nani ever since she was still feeding from her mother! I've protected her from afar ever since I heard the news of her family's death!" he snapped angrilly, suddenly picking up speed to get behind the other male, before he jumped, this time a non-lethal attack, and pinned the other down to the ground.
"And then you go and get her all pregnant and uncomfortable. You sick b*****d." he hissed, pressing his weight down on the other's back side to keep him down. He could keep this up all day, and then when Nani came back he'd kill this twisted a*****e infront of her, and then take her back to the north.

Comhnall whimpered softly when he felt Nani's nose under his chin, and as his face was pushed up, he couldn't help but notice how... well, fat she'd gotten. "Nani. Your fa--" Comhnall was about to say something about it, until realization slapped him hard on the face. She was fat, yes, but not because of food. It was because... because.... "You're pregnant?" he whispered, so startled his voice could barely be heard.
"How?" he asked, but he didn't need to. He already knew, and Nani had just confirmed it. He felt guilty when he saw her tired eyes look up at him. How could he not have considered this before? He just left the whole burden with Nani and had run away, as he always had. "I'm sorry, Nani." he whimpered. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean--" He paused when Nani's face was close to his chest, and then pressing against it. He knew she could feel his heart beating rapidly and he licked her ears nervously, wondering if she would pull away.
Her question surprised him, but he couldn't say it was unexpected. "I... I'm not sure." he admitted, ears flattening. "I'm not a father, Nani. I can't be." His voice broke, and he knew he sounded like a coward, but what else could he say? He wasn't fatherly material. If anything, pups would probably make him more like his own dad, and he wanted to stay as far away as possible from that.
He stepped back, posture low with shame and guilt. He stood that way for a while before looking up, a small spark of determination in his eyes. "Will you stay with me, Nani?" he asked, hope coating his words. If it really was his pups she was carrying, it might convince her to live with him. "I'm not a father, Nani." he repeated. "But I can try. For you." He looked at her hopefully, almost desperately, and waited for her reply.
Shadow growled in annoyance as his attacks were continually being dodges. He recognized the way the male's paws spread and tread lightly upon the dirt, like Kane walked. This male was obviously from the North and it only angered Shadow further that he would try to take Nani there, when she almost died from the cold last time. He charged again, a dark black streak against the earth, and would have caught the male in his jaws if he hadn't heard the words "We're related!" and paused in surprise. This gave the male enough time to jump on him and Shadow squirmed around angrily, snapping as he tried to free himself.
He paused again, ears flickering. "Pregnant?" he said, still too angry to fully rid his voice of its growl. "What are you talking about?"

Nani looked up as Comhnall stepped away, and looked at him quietly. Why couldnt he be a father? It couldn't be that hard. Just come about once in a while, check in on the kids, so on and so forth.... But when Comhnall looked up at her Nani, suddenly felt stiff. He asked his question, and Nani suddenly felt her mouth go dry.
Stay... With Comhnall?
Nani fell silent, before her brain fired itself up. Staying with Comhnall would be fun. He wouldn't mind her vegetarian diet, and she could teach him how to be the father he was positive he could never be. It would be peaceful, and not hectic, and nice....
But....
Shadow was Nani's first and only true love. He had rescued her so many times from certain death, was willing to do anything for her. He'd even stopped bringing her those icky carcass heads as of recent. And Nani could never leave Shadow... She could never just walk out of his life like that...
"Comhnall..... I.... I can't," she stated, head down, eyes closed as she fought with her emotions. This way really hurting her to do this, "You know I love you, but.... I love you in the way a mother loves her child, or a sister loves her brother and best friend... The way I love you.... It's not the same way that I love him... Shadow...." damnit, she could feel the tears coming.
"Comhnall, Shadow's risked everything for me so many times.... He's always been there.... He will always be the one that I.... Love more than anything in the world...." a tear slid down her face, and a sad smile formed on her lips, "I love you both.... So much.... But Shadow is my life.... I couldn't leave him..... I'm sorry..... I'm so sorry...." she began to sob quietly, feeling terribly guilty. She must have wounded Comhnall so deeply with those words.
She went to him, knowing he wouldn't back dare back away from her when she was like this: sore, pregnant, and feeling terrible, "I still want you in my life, Comhnall... Please don't just dissapear forever... You are... So special to me..." she sobbed, giving him a soft lick on the cheek, before she dropped her head, tears tearing down her cheeks, "This is so hard for me right now...." she hiccupped, trying to pull hrself together, "I know... That you may never forgive me.... But... I...I don't want to lose you too...." Shadow may have been her eternal, but Comhnall was family... Nani would break if she had to lose him forever.
Bellino stared incredulously. "You're kidding me, right? Have you seen her?! She's huge! Probably very close to giving birth! You should know, damnit, you're the one who 'did the deed'...." wait. Now that he thought about it, this punk really didn't seem the type to do something like that. If he had been the father and had known, then he would have been proud about it. He hadn't met a father who hadn't been proud about his litter. And the way Nani had looked so sad....
Bellino went quiet as his mind came upon a realization: Nani wasn't sad because she was pregnant, she was feeling guilty.
"....Nani was knocked up." he stated dumbly, blinking a bit, "So then, you're not the father.... s**t..." he slid off of the other, backing off instantly, "s**t, I'm sorry man.... I... I thought you were the one..... Oh damn...." this guy was probably Nani's mate, but he wasn't the father of the pups she was carrying....
Nani had gotten herself into quite the predicament... Time for Bellino to come to the rescue!
"Whoever it was must have forced her into the pregnancy... There's no way Nani would ever cheat on someone she loved... And that look on her face... She feels terrible about it, I can tell... But Nani won't get rid of the pups. She could never bring herself to kill anything..... Damn...." Bellino looked upon Shadow, who was now an unwilling parent, and his ears folded back as he set himself into a submissive posture, "I'm sorry for the sudden attack.... And now you've learned that Nani's been attacked by another helix..."
...This still left the fact open that Nani had been sexually assaulted by a helix, and the poor girl was left with the burden to carry those pups... Lifting his head again, Bellino's angry spark had returned, "I'll castrate the b*****d." he stated, snarling as he turned to go find the one who had knocked his baby cousin up. Looking to Shadow, he quirked his head, "You coming?" he called. He was going on a man hunt, and was definitely going to go home with some poor b*****d's pelt...

"Yes?" Comhnall breathed, perking up, just for a moment. His face fell quickly when Nani finished her sentence. He felt even worse when he saw the state Nani was going into. It was he who asked the question, he who made her pregnant, and so it was his fault she looked so... so sad. "Nani." he tried to say, but faded off, her depression leaking into him.
A whimper escaped him when she said she loved him, but that she loved Shadow more and he started to cry, too. He tried to man up, to wipe away the tears, but he couldn't help it. He trembled when Nani approached, but he couldn't bring himself to leave her, after all he'd done to her. "I won't Nani." he said quietly, wondering if he was getting himself into a promise he wouldn't be able to keep. Saying anything to make Nani feel better seemed to be his best option at that point, though. "I'll do my best."
Shadow's eyes widened in realization, then narrowed as he shot a distrustful glace at the male. It was true he did look a bit similar to Nani, with the heart and the flower, but there were still doubts. He was blue, for one thing, and a Northerner, too.
As soon as the male was off his back, he stood, and would have pounced if the male's previous words hadn't rung around in his head. "Knocked up?" he asked, incredulous. Someone had taken advantage of her? That explained her recent behavior, and her scent, too, and he felt depression enter him as he realized what he'd done. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. He hadn't even asked her what was wrong! She probably felt like it was her fault that she got pregnant in the first place, and thought Shadow wouldn't take well to it (which he wasn't, but still) so she didn't tell him. And that explained her travelling, too. Was she looking for the father? He hoped so. If she found him, it would be easier to kill him.
He listened to the male, giving a curt nod. Yes, he knew Nani well. He frowned when he realized that the male's words were true. Nani wouldn't get rid of the puppies. His dominant side bristled at this. He saw no reason to raise pups that weren't his own. Even worse, the pups of a male who had taken advantage of poor, sweet Nani. He gave a nod of approval towards the male. "Of course." he replied, the growl in his voice now aimed towards whoever was the father of Nani's pups. Instantly, his muzzle was down and he sniffed around where she went off last before bounding on towards the source of her scent.

Nani sighed a bit, sniffling a little, "I'm... Glad.... I'm so glad... Oh, I am terrible, aren't I?" she murmured, pulling a bit away from him so that she could wipe at her eyes with one of her forepaws, "I should... I should just let you free of this burden.... Let you just walk out of my life.... But... I'm weak... I can't do it... I can't lose another... I... I'm sorry...." she sniffled, looking up at him wit a tiny smile under the tears.
"Maybe... Maybe we can work something out... Maybe when you're more comfortable you can take the pups for a while, o-or maybe you can find someone that will help you..." she wiped at her nose now, too, feeling terrible, "You may not believe it, but I think you'd be a wonderful father, Comhnall... You just need some help is all." she smiled sweetly, before a familiar scent from the depths of Comhnall's fur made to her nose, and she smiled a bit more, giving a soft giggle.
"And maybe you've found just the right help... You do smell like him, after all... Kane..." she giggled a bit at this. As a pup she really didn't like Kane, but now that she was more mature she realized that he was actually a sweet hearted Helix... He just wasn't raised properly was all. He'd be a great father, too... Suddenly, she could hear her name being called, and her ears swiveled towards the sound, "...Bellino?"
Bellino scented the ground, and was quick to pounce off after Shadow, his sense of smell far more acute than Shadow's. He did have to find food that was frozen under a good 3-6 feet of snow, after all. Bellino dashed past Shadow, almost taking his pressence like competition over his pretty little Nani. He'd get to whoever it was that knocked her up first. Or atleast give the boy a head's up to where he was. After all, Nani's scent was everywhere around these parts, and an untrained nose could snuffle right past Nani's present location.
The white male pranced with ease over a fallen log, skipping and prancing through the forest on light feet, like how he'd been brought up in the Northern territories. Stopping for a short second, he lifted his nose once more, and caught a very strong scent of Nani.... and....
Tears?
Bellino's eyes flashed, and he charged forwards into the forest, nose and eyes on alert. And then he was it. In the distance, a white figure and a pink figure.
"Nani! Nani I'm coming!" he hollered, and he saw her turn her head and perk her ears. He could smell it strongly now. Tears. The jerk had made her cry. Rejecting her attempt at peace, eh? Wait until her mate got a hold of this guy...
In one long leap, Bellino skidded to a halt inbetween Nani and Comhnall, shimmering fur bristled by his anger. "Found you, you little kinky b*****d." his snarl came out being a bit of a tease at the sight of the other. Hey, he was cool with being openly gay. Nani tried to talk to him, but he snapped his tail at her, "Hush, Nani. Shadow is on his way..." he turned his eyes back on Comhnall, "And no matter how hot you are, my pretty, I don't think Shadow's going to give you a head start for knocking up his mate." Nani attempted speaking again, but was cut off once more with a flick of the male's tail. Bellino kept his eyes trained on Comhnall, watching the other's every move incase of an attempted run away.

"No, you're not, Nani." Comhnall said, trying to give her a reassuring nuzzle. "If anyone's terrible, it's me. For making you like this." He attempted a smile, but failed, and he could only sigh miserably as Nani continued on.
"I don't know, Nani." Comhnall tried to say but faltered when his attention was caught by her small smile. When she continued, though, his attention was instantly back on her words. "Kane?" he said, remember their first and last encounter. It hadn't exactly gone well. "Why Kane? And who's Bellino?"
Before a reply could come, though, a white and blue male crashed through. Comhnall imedietly cowered and would have rolled over if he wasn't so surprised. The male's comments confused him, and he wonderered if he was being insulted or complimented. Probably the first, based on the male's look. His ears flattened and he lowered his head. The male was right.
Shadow was annoyed with Bellino's obvious experience and he did his best to keep up. His nose wasn't as adapted to notice the scent of tears, but immedietly, Shadow could tell Nani was depressed about something. He zoomed in on her, annoyance clear on his face when Bellino reached her first.
Deciding to approach a different way, he skidded around before any caught sight or scent of him and circled around. He bristled when he saw the pink male, angered that someone like him took and tained his Nani. Without warning, he burst through the trees and landed on Comhnall's unprotected flank, tearing into his bright pink fur.

Nani had been confused when Bellino had stepped in, but when he spoke of Shadow she was lost. How did Bellino know about him? How did he find her?...
But then it clicked in.
Shadow was coming. He knew. Her eyes widened, "Comhnall, get out of here!" she cried, trying to push past Bellino, who steadily held her back, imagining that her need for a father for her pups was pushing her to try and protect the sexy pink fluff before them. Nani sobbed, trying so hard to push past...
But then Shadow came and jumped him. Her eyes widened. "NO!!! SHADOW NO DON'T HURT HIM! HE DIDN'T MEAN IT! HE DIDN'T MEAN IT, PLEASE!!" she shrieked at the top of her lungs, pushing violently against Bellino, nearly knocking him over, before she gasped and hit the ground, howling loudly in pain. Gods.
They were coming.
Bellino was trying hard to hold his frantic cousin back, "Calm down Nani. It's your need to have a father that's driving you. Calm down, calm down...." but then she was shrieking in his ear, and he was pretty sure it was something else...
Did she actually have a connection to the pink babe before them?
"Nani? Calm down, that isn't good for the pups... Nani..." she hit the ground then, and his eyes widened like saucers, "NANI!" he swiveled to Shadow, "OI! You'll have to continue your attack later! We need to move her somewhere warm or she's going to give birth out here..." and there was a possibility of death birthing insuch an unsuitable place. "Nani, Nani calm down.... Breaths... Deep breaths...." oooh, panic.... How long had she been pregnant?!?

Shadow placed his paws on either side of the omega and raked down, satisfied to hear a squeal of pain coming from the lowly pink male. He shredded his ears to ribbons, tore the fur from his tail, anything to cause pain. He was just so... so... angry. That this male would dare take advantage of his Nani, his Nani, when she had endured so much hardship as a pup. As if she needed anymore problems.
Shadow was only a young adult, but yes, he knew the unwritten laws of nature, to never attack when your opponent submits and the pink male was definelty submitting. But Shadow couldn't stop himself, and the voices of the others seemed to be far away. All he saw was red, and more red blossomed on his paws and his nose when he started attacking the exposed stomach, too. There was a howl of pain, but whether it was the male's, Nani's, or perhaps his own, he could not tell.

Stopping for just a second, one could see Kane's red eyes glaring. They focused on Shadow and then he was on the move again. Charging forward he body slammed into Shadow's flank to catch the dark male off guard.
He then stood protectively over Comhnall's injured form, refusing to move. "Stay." He ordered Comhnall softly, for his own safety. He postured his dominance to all in view. His fur stood on end, teeth bared and snapping. His whole form quivered with suppressed rage. Eyes darted to the other two. Nani was no threat, that made the attacker Shadow and there was a stranger here. He stood over Nani while she howled in pain, belly bloated in a disturbing way he had never seen before. Was she sick? Had he hurt her? Concern flickered in his eyes then was hidden behind a mental shield of Northerner coldness. He couldn't betray weakness to possible enemies.
Eyes darted back to Shadow, tensing up with the readiness to battle. It was his self-acclaimed duty to protect Comhnall, even against alleys. "Shadow, friend in my pup days, what has become of you? Nani lays in pain while you attack an omega that has already submit to you. Against the law his blood is in your jaws. What has he done to warrant such an attack? I thought you had more honor than that. What's wrong with Nani? Don't you care for her anymore? Why are you ignoring her howls when I could hear them a mile away?" He talked quickly to get all the questions out, demanding answers.
Two males meant double the threat, which made him extra aggressive and super defensive. He had to keep an eye on both. He wanted to protect Nani too but if he left Comhnall he would be mauled. He hoped Shadow would protect her from the stranger. If he didn't attack back first. Kane had dominated him once, he would do it again. Only he wasn't just playing this time.

Comhnall cried in pain from the blows and, try as he might, he couldn't roll so that his defenceless stomach was hidden. He pleaded, but that only made it worse. He could hear the screams of Nani and the stranger but he was too busy spluttering and flailing to do much about it. When Shadow was knocked away and the attacks stopped, Comhnall thought he had died, except the pain seemed too much for death.
He tried to roll back onto his paws, perhaps escape if he could, but a sharp sting stopped him and he fell back with a startled whimper. His fur rose when a shadow appeared over him and a familiar voice told him to stay. As if things couldn't get any worse. Still, when Comhnall looked up at his defender, Kane, he couldn't help but feel better. He had saved his life once before, after all, and the memory was still fresh in his mind. "Okay." he whispered quietly, tears flowing with both relief and sadness, as he brought a cut paw closer to his jaws to lick the wound.
Shadow was infuriated when his paws leave the stable surface of the earth and he could feel himself rolling in the dirt before he slid to a stop. He looked up at the new arrival, Kane, his surprise quickly overwhelmed by anger. "What are you doing here?" he demanded, rising. He did his best to hold himself higher and look down at Kane but faltered slightly when Kane spoke. At his best friend and worst enemy's words, he swiveled his ears around and, sure enough, Nani was crying out in pain. However, instead of running to her, he steeled himself and glared at the pink male, hidden behind Kane.
"That low-life deserved everything he got, and more." Shadow growled, barely able to contain himself. "He forced himself on Nani and he's the reason she's in pain now." At the mention of Nani, his ears flattened, and he longed to go to her side, and help her, but he couldn't just leave the pink male behind. There was a chance he would escape, and then what? Shadow had to make sure he got the punishment he deserved for what he did to Nani. "And look at him now." Shadow said, so angry his voice was almost a whisper. "Cowering like a fool. He probably did it just for his own delusioned pleasure, to make himself feel better." Shadow turned, directing his next words to the wounded omega. "Well, does this make you feel any better?!" His voice had risen to a full-blown roar and tears started to blur his vision as Nani's cries became louder in his ears, until it was the only thing he could hear. His paws trembled to go to Nani, but to kill the pink male, too, and, uncertain, he stayed where he was.
