The name of the spell
Where is originated
What the spell looks like
How much energy/concentration it takes
How accurate it is
How powerful it is (scale of 1-10)
Etc
 There are many different types of magic in the world. "Magic" is in essence being able to harness the primary energies that flow through the world. Not all beings are capable of harnessing these energies and are in effect incapable or performing magic. People can use special enchanted orbs to determine what type of magic they are gifted in. These orbs break the different types of magic into basic color groups:
Black Magic
White Magic
Red Magic
Dark Blue Magic
Light Blue Magic
Yellow Magic
Green Magic
Brown Magic
Grey Magic
Purple Magic
There are also various offshoots of the basic types of magic.

Black Magic Black magic is magic using dark energy. The dark energy is found throughout the lower levels of the crust of the earth and is the most basal and basic form of energy. Black includes demonic magic, demonic summons, shadow magic, shadow summons and most magic involving souls and the damage of souls such as necromancy.

White Magic White magic is magic using light energy. Light energy permeates the lighter realms and is the second most common form of energy in the world. White magic consists mainly of healing magic, but also holy magic and light summons.

Red Magic Red magic is any magic pertaining to fire. Fire is the wildest and hardest to control element and often is intertwined with the users emotions. Mastering red magic takes extreme discipline and years of practice. Often people confuse controlling magma with red magic. This is incorrect since magma is still the earth, just in molten form.

Dark Blue Magic Dark blue magic is any magic pertaining to water. Even though they use the same medium, water magic is still different from ice magic. The two forms of magic are often seen together and a user who has mastered one form can usually learn the other.

Yellow Magic Yellow magic is any magic using electricity. Since electricity is such a sporadic element, learning to control it takes extreme concentration. But in return yellow magic can be the most accurate and energy efficient magic.

Green Magic Green magic is any magic having to do with plants and is the oldest known form of magic. Green magic requires a deep connection with nature that allows you to communicate with the plant life surrounding you. This connection more often than not cannot be learned and you must be born with it. Because of this green magic is considered a racial trait and is most commonly found in anthro species and forest sprites.

Brown Magic Brown magic is any magic having to do with the earth. Since the earth is such a strong and solid material, mastering this form of magic requires extreme willpower. Earth magic is the least accurate magic and often unwieldy, but it is naturally the most powerful magic and takes little effort to inflict the most damage.

Purple Magic Purple magic is not exactly a magic, but actually any psychic ability. This can include telekinesis, teleportation, and psyionics.

Modern Magic Modern magic is a recent spin-off of magic pertaining to electronics and technology. Modern magic typically is a combination of purple, yellow and brown magics since most electronics consist of metal and electricity.

Prismatic Magic 
Red Light focuses on heat. A mild intensity will warm an area or person, while stronger intensities can cause burns or light fire to combustable objects.
Orage Light focuses on force. Orange light can push or pull objects with various strengths. Strong intensities can be formed into shackles or rope or shields, but can be broken if hit with enough force.
Yellow Light focuses on form. This light can be used to form shapes. By itself yellow light can do very little, almost like drawing pictures and forming objects with light. But if combined with other colors can give shape and permanance to the effects of those colors.
Green Light focuses on life. By chanelling energy through green light the caster can encourage natural growth, which can be used to grant some healing spells and lead to healthier recovery. However the caster can completely drain themselves and die if not careful with how much energy they give to the growth process.
Blue Light focuses on cold. Opposite to Red light a mild intensity can chill an area or person, while stronger intensities can freeze them.
Violet Light, as the royal color, is used in combination with other colors to add surprising power and effects to narmal lights. The exact effects that intensities of violet light has is only known to select casters most of them Djinn.
