She'd been asked by her brother to run an errand to to local market, nothing major like a delivery, but none the less the young girl scurried amongst the roadside like she had a deadline to meet at her destination. In her arms she carried a small satchel that would be used to bring home whatever it was her brother wanted, and clutched in her hand was a list containing the names of those very items.

" . . . . "

Ahiru was silent as she went along, the brief breezes that the day spat out at her only ruffling her gray hair about her cheeks, and she sneezed once or twice when a strand dared to tickle across her nose.

The breeze gently tossed the jacket hood that sat on Airen's head. Nothing exciting was happening at the moment, but did not bother the orange haired young adult in the least. He had no idea where he was going, but again that didn't bother him. The ex-rocket member would just roam around the land for the rest of his life if that is what was planned for his life.

He sat on a bench that sat in front of the local market, arms crosses and a foot idly tapping the head of the Totodile that stood at his feet.

"I don't even know why you bother following me around. I've told you before that you can just leave..."

Varun just looked up at his "trainer" and gave a slight chattering growl. The Totodile had no plans to leave Airen no matter what the human told him.

Ahiru looked up as her destination drew closer, her eyes able now to make out the various shops and people scurrying about the marketplace that sold what she needed, and a little grin spread across the child's face as she picked up her little run. It was an awkward thing to do while carrying something, as if it was a challenge to nature to see if she could fail in any manner, and no sooner had she stepped onto the concrete and off the dirt road did she stumble over the clunky shoes she'd slid on her feet.

"!!"

She gave no large cry, just a small startled gasp, and tightly she squeezed her eyes closed before she felt her knees contact with the ground. The bag in her arms spilled out forward and the note in her hand was released on impact, blowing away in one of those little breezes from before.

"....Uweh...."

Ahiru hoped no one had seen her fall, hopefully they were all busy in the marketplace, and she slowly tried to push herself up enough that she was at least sitting. But it hurt to do so. . .

Airen stopped picking on Varun when a gasp caught his attention. He watched as the small child tripped and fell to the ground. It wasn't like it was a new sight since kids were always tripping and getting hurt, so why should he care?

With a sigh he got up off the bench and walked over to the child, crouching down when he was close enough.

"Are you alright?" he asked as he looked her over to see if anything had happened.

"Toto.." Varun eyed the list as he blew in the breeze. Giving a gentle growl he quickly chased after it to see if he could catch it, like it was some kind of game to him. Grinning, he waited until it came low enough and jumped to catch it. His tail wagging in triumph he skipped on over to the two humans.

Ahiru was sitting in her pitiable thoughts when a voice startled her from them and caused her to noticeably jump, wide eyes turning to look at whomever had just addressed her. She nodded quickly, as if not to be rude, her mouth opening slightly to speak.

"I'm sorry to have bothered you."

Her voice was low and slightly husky, not fitting her frame at all. She pulled to get to her feet, dusting herself off at the knees and ignoring the stinging pain that pinged at her from the gravel-induced wounds on her palms and shins, before she spoke again.

"Oh, my list. . ."

Ahiru was going to look around for it with a cold panic already down her spine, though it quickly subsided when she noticed the Totodile nearby with the paper in its possession.

"Did you. . .get it for me?
