Private RP between Ellandra (Redbud-Tree) & Misha (Graficcha)

Location: Farstep
Time: Sometime in the afternoon
Weather: Overcast with just a hint of drizzle, but not cold
PostPosted: Tue May 19, 2009 8:35 am

Ellandra sighed a little and set her notebook aside, tired of writing for the moment; she'd been working at it for hours and needed a bit of a break. Faolan and Ziazan had gone out earlier, she wasn't quite sure where but she trusted the two not to get into too much trouble. Trouble was inevitable, but hopefully they would only find the minor sort this time. She rose to her feet and went to exit the vardo, stopping to pet Rags on the way. It was good to see the little cat so happy now.

"We're both happy now, aren't we, Rags?" She asked the cat - or rather, mused out loud, since cats weren't normally the best for conversation. Rags did make an agreeable-sounding meow, but Ellandra knew her little kitty and he was just hoping to get some sort of table scrap from somewhere, the spoiled thing. She petted him one last time, and then walked out the door, sitting down on the steps and watching the misty world around her. It was so different from her apartment, some things were still regularly overwheming her, but she was happier than she'd ever been.

Idly, she fidgeted with the ring on her left hand - engaged, really, who would have thought that she would ever be engaged? If her father wasn't already dead, he would probably have had a heart attack at her ending up with a half-demon fortune-teller. But then, her Papa would have never been able to handle Ellandra getting engaged to anyone, probably. Smiling softly at the small ring on her hand, Ellandra closed her eyes.

There was only one thing at the moment that she desperately, desperately needed fixed - she needed to see Misha again, to make sure they were - were still okay after what had happened the last time she'd seen him. Only she wasn't brave enough to try going all the way to the shop to try and catch him, and have to deal with ... what was her name again? Longway? whether the Essentic was there or not.

It'd take something of a miracle for her to see Misha again.

Or a combination of a certain not entirely neutral Duke, and a similar wish on the other end of this impasse.

~

Breathe, breathe.

Wheeze, keep going, dodge and slide and slip and skid, what WAS this place? THIS was where Faolan and Ziazan lived? Where he'd find Ellandra? Mother Iris... So many... things everywhere, scents, sounds, all over. HOW was it possible he hadn't smelled it from all the way up there? Animal scents, female fragrances and the smell of... candy, and sugar, and other delicious things as well. The young messenger, off the job for just a moment now, allowed that last group of scents to calm him down a little, and give his slightly gloomy mood a bit of a boost. Ye gods know he needed it.

Questions, worries, slowly it all faded. It was only the second.. no, third time they'd really meet each other, but for as far as Misha was concerned, Ella was his only real 'friend' outside E.B.I. She was precious to him in her own way, and he was burning with the need to know how she'd been.

Now, the directions to Farstep had been easy enough to follow, the amount of large open spaces in and near Vargash, discounting the unsheltered wasteland, weren't too numerous after all. But... in THIS apparently unmanaged chaos...

Just go and tell her. Deliver your message, silly.

Why yes, that worked. With a placid, confident smile, now that he'd found his directions, Misha headed on calmly, at his relaxed yet hefty pace. A messenger unable to find the message's destination.. Pah, what a joke that'd be. Heheh.

Today, his gear was a little different from usual. His brown leather cap he'd replaced with a quite stylish black one, more like a proper uniform, lined with subtle gold. It at least went with everything else much better, that deep black proper-cut jacket, straight trousers with that same gold line in them And knee-high boots, and ... boy, and a rather rigid black cape, too.Ever so easy to cover his long ears with.

Newspaper lad has gone special delivery service, yo.

It didn't take him reidiculously long to find where he needed to be... a... home on wheels, how curious. Slowing down ages oon beforehand, he quietly approached.

Ellandra was sitting thoughtfully on the steps of the vardo, contemplating all of the changes that had overtaken her life in recent. . . days? Weeks? She wasn't entirely sure, really, it had all happened so fast - but she did know that it hadn't been very long ago at all that her only contact with the outside world was with her editor and those people she would order things from at the coffee shop.

Speaking of that coffee shop, she was dying for some cheesecake... if she had her recipe book here, she could probably get Faolan to show her a place she could try making some; she wasn't half bad at it, she just preferred the ease of buying a slice at a time from the coffee shop. She tilted her head a little as she noticed someone approaching the vardo, someone who wasn't Faolan and was dressed in a manner unlike the people she'd grown used to watching pass by her new home.

It took her a moment, but she recognized him, even with hiding his ears, and she bolted upright, nearly falling off of the steps in her shock. "M-misha!"

And she was scrambling, stumbling down the steps and across the ground, dodging that silly Rosco who she swore made a face at her as she passed - he had Faolan's "World's Greatest Grandpa" mug again but there was just no way she was mentioning that to the fortune-teller - and just barely managed to keep from falling over as she reached the Essentic.

"Misha. . ." She couldn't manage to say anything more, not just yet, but the absolute joy in her expression, much more vivid than it would have been had she never been forced into this colorful, open-feeling world, gave away exactly how she felt at seeing her friend again. Because, here to deliver something or not (which he most likely was), she'd still gotten to see him this time.

And that meant more than she'd known.

So he'd just been going calmly, glancing around when he wasn't so sure anymore of having hit the right target -why'd he be wrong? but still- and then...

Never before had he heard his name called out like that, and it made his heart skip a beat, maybe two. That strange creature nearby, an ape of some sort he figured, wasn't all that interesting anymore from the moment he heard her voice.

Father Isis how she'd changed. His jaw quite literally dropped, eyes going wide in awe. Turning to face her, he just... stood there, drowning in the sight. So vibrant... so happy. What magic was this?

"M... Miss Sanders..."

No, what was that now. You idiot.

"Ellandra..."

Muuuch better. Now he managed a soft, wistful smile, and got rid of that dumbfounded look a bit.

"H... hello. Good day."
he eventually greeted her, gaze flicking to the ground a little, and he scuffed the toe of his boot against the floor a little awkwardly. Hey there again... Remember you were mad t me last time, and then not anymore? .w. ._.

Tears welled up in Ellandra's eyes - happy tears, joyful tears, not sad ones or even angry ones. "M-misha. . . I - I was so worried that - that I'd never get to see you again," she said, and it was a whisper; a choked off, strangled sort of sound that spilled out the complete truthfulness of that thought.

She took a few more steps forward, her eyes sparkling with tears and delight at finally, finally seeing the friend she'd just been thinking about. The brunette fiddled with the ring on her hand and chewed her lip for a few moments, then, dropping her gaze to the ground. "I - I was afraid you didn't want to see me," she admitted softly, raising her eyes back to the Alter after a moment.

Stepping closer again - she was right in front of him at last, the dear bunny-ears hardly visible at all due to the cape misha wore. "You're . . . very dressed up for a delivery," she said, a smile rising to her face again. "You look very handsome, Misha." she paused and bit her lip once more before continuing, "I - I'm so sorry, Misha. . . I overreacted that day, and - and I upset you . . . I am so very, very sorry."

Still slightly stunned, Misha almost took a step away from her when he saw that expression. Tears? Was she sad? No, why... oh. Why would you never see me again? The only thing he could think of was someone prohibiting her from coming by at the shop, because he knew nobody of the staff would ever stop her from doing so.

The next bit was even more confusing.

"... why... wouldn't I want that? I... I missed you." he said quietly, pouting slightly, and looked at her in dull confusion. "You never did anything but nice things... and right things." The scolding he'd received the second time around he'd accepted gracefully by now, after all she'd helped him see sense.

Ah, there she was.. so.. close. And complimenting him, too. It was no use trying to fight that rising blush, and soon his cheeks were livid. "I err... Just needed a change of style, there's this thing coming up soon..." yeah, that. "It's just weird."
All new clothes are weird, Mish.

"Wha... No, don't be." and back was that worried, confused expression. "You didn't do anything wrong at all, don't say that." D:

"... YOU changed a lot... you know." Let's not.. talk about then? Talk about now? ": <

Ellandra smiled a little. "I - I know I have. . . and Misha, I - I have to thannk you.... to thank you so very, very much," the brunette said, staring at the young Alter, hoping, hoping he would understand what she was trying to say.

"Misha. . . you - meeting you, becoming friends with you. . . it's .... you've changed my life, or at the very least started the changes........ and they've ll been good ones..." She wanted Misha to understand, wanted him to be happy, not upset or embarrassed. She bit her lip again and once more started to fidget with the ring on her finger, the one Faolan had givn her. . . . the symbol of their engagement.

Shaking her head a little to clear it, she smiled at the bunny-eared alter yet again. "Well, it's a nice style, Misha.... and - and I'm glad you could stop by, even if only for a moment."

"Ah, that's... very nice to hear." Misha sagged a little at her words, a relieved smile forming on his lips. "I'm not sure I get why you say I helped with that... I haven't seen you in so long, but you look... Happier now." With a fond look, he glanced her up and down approvingly, and let his warm gold eyes rest on the little peice of jewelry for a moment. One of his ears raised up just a little in wonder.

"You didn't have that last time..."
he murmured softly, looked at her face again, his gaze filled with a tentative question. There could be a hundred and one simple explanations, maybe she'd had it before but hadn't been wearing it, but... No, there was something about it, something special.

"You know, Banning said he... owed you one. It was very nice of you to help him out, he's much better now. He told me where you were, and let me come see you for a while." Almost he started fidgeting too, feeling quite bashful suddenly amongst all these people, here before her looking so odd.

Ellandra smiled softly, and grabbed the silly, naive little bunny-eared messenger's hand. "Misha. . . it was only b-because I met you that I . . . s-started to go out more and. . . meet more people... and several of your little siblings, I might add," she said quietly, wanting Misha to know that yes, he had done so much for her, so much more than he could understand because she didn't really understand it herself.

When she saw Misha's eyes land on her ring and his small comment, her smile grew from an "I'm-so-happy-to-see-you" smile to the silly, lovestruck smile she and Faolan both had sported off and on recently. "Ummm, no, I -I d-didn't have it last time...... I only ...... um.... got it a short time ago...." She said, her eyes taking on a distant, happy gleam - she returned to reality fairly quickly though at the mention of Banning.

"I'm glad he's feeling better now," she said, smiling a bit (and a more normal smile it was). Tilting her head a little, she saw how embarrassed Misha seemed to be right now - why, she didn't know, he really did look quite handsome - and decided to make a suggestion. "Here, Misha. . . do you have time to come inside? No-one here's even noticed you, I promise but if you'd be more comfortable out of sight..." She paused and bit her lip. "Or we could stay out here, w-whicever you're more comfortable with..."

Sometimes Misha wished he could swim... because right now, he was drowing in her a little. If he let himself go now he'd just fade right here into clouds, he knew it.

She actually met some of them already? So she'd probably taken on that invitation Banning had him bring over? That was wonderful! At her mention of having only recently received the ring, he cocked his head to the side slightly and watched her more carefully. For a moment, she didn't seem quite... there anymore. Elsewhere, in her head. But not really withdrawn, just away from him. He wasn't sure if he liked how that made him feel, but she was happy again quick enough.

"Ah... ou... inside.. I don't know, I just never went out like this..." he fidgeted, chuckling awkwardly. He wasn't feeling too exposed in this mystical world of strangeness, but you know, everyone likes his own comfy pants best. He'd never been this dressed up before.

"Let's do whatever you like best, miss Ellandra." Theeere we go, he'd found his smile again. "Maybe... you could tell me about my siblings, then? I haven't gotten around to meeting them yet." Eehee, mourn.

PostPosted: Wed May 20, 2009 8:58 am

Ellandra smiled softly. "Come on then," she said, taking Misha by the hand and leading him up to the vardo. She hesitated just a moment outside the door as a slightly-worrying thought crossed her mind. "Um... before we go in, Misha......... there's a cat that lives in here. He's declawed, but I wouldn't want to worry you."

She searched the Essentic's golden eyes for a moment. "I'm more than glad to - to tell you what I know about your siblings... I've only met a - a few, but I'll tell you what I can."

Misha let himself be lead calmly, following her up and glancing around.

"A cat? A CAT cat? Alright.... wait, the one you nearly tripped over that one time?" his ears gave a little twibble upwards at the idea. How strange that'd be. I ent afraid of no cat, miss Ella, who do you hold me for? He softly ushered her to go on and open the door.

"So I... heard you like, live here now?"
Once inside, he stood there looking as awkward as any young boy in a foreign room would, looking everywhere and nowhere at once. "Whatever brought THAT on..." He pondered that aloud, dismissing the idea as ridiculous that this was another one of those things that were his 'fault'.

"Ah, not that that's a bad thing, this is a lovely place."
Oop, didn't mean to sound sarcastic there.

"I.. don't have all that much time to stay, you know... But if you'd tell me about them, I'd run a hundred miles an hour to make up for any overtime gladly. And about how you've been doing yourself, of course. Were they nice to you?" <3

He still hadn't moved inside a lot after entering.
PostPosted: Wed May 20, 2009 9:31 am

"Yes, that cat," Ellandra said with a smile. "He's declawed, the poor thing..... but he's safe here." when Misha asked what brought her to the carnival, she couldn't help it - she giggled. "Faolan kidnapped me," was all she said in response to that particular query.

And regarding the condistion of the vardo, she was working on his messy bachelor-ness. Somehow she had the feeling that was something she'd be working on for a long time - not that she was any better when it came to her notes, but in general day-to-day living. . . she had her work cut out for her.

She smiled softly and tilted her head. "Yes, they've all been very nice to me - in their own ways, of course, b-but nice... is there.... anything specific you'd lik to know about any of them?"

"What's so bad about taking a cat's claws, they're sharp..." muttermutter, the bunny really didn't know. The next bit made his eyes widen though.

"K... kidnapped?"

B-but that was horrible! In those books he was reading, abducted people cried and begged for mercy and kidnappers were bad, very very bad people! A-and that name now, Faolan, wasn't that... OOOOH he'd have him for this. First his sibling and now...!

For just a moment the Essentic's fur stood on end, his expression turning sharp and hostile, until he realised she didn't... seem to mind. No, she was prefectly fine, was she joking about this? How could she giggle like that, why was she still smiling? Oh no, there it was again, that confusion. After he lost that brief flare-up of temper, he was left to sag into himself again. When'd the world stop pulling his leg at every other turn, mother Iris I beg thee.

Oh... Okay, back to... my brothers and sisters then. Alright.

"That's.... good to hear, tell me... tell me their names, if you remember."
Misha asked her, andhe was looking at her with a tiny slightly ashamed gaze now, pleading for her answer modestly.
