The Salle and Observation Area The Salle: Fa'e HQ's weapon practice arena is floored in a manner appropriate to its use, with mirrors on three of four walls (the fourth wall has the windows that open onto the observation room). Barres similar to those used in ballet are also present on the mirrors, and the wall with windows has a low bench running along its length. Along the bottom wall is a very large storage cabinet, which when opened contains a rather boggling variety of weaponry, the culture and type of which depends on the needs of the one opening it. The room is enchanted, however, to prevent all weapons originating in the room from being removed. Those wishing to practice or spar may bring their own weapons free of such restrictions, of course. Next to it is a smaller cabinet, this one full of bandages, salves and other useful materials for tending to wounds. Just in case. The majority of this room is open to allow for free movement and sparring. The Observation Room: A small room just off the salle, with clear glass windows and four benches arrayed in two rows. Observers to any sparring match or fight are asked to sit within this safe room and comment and cheer from there. Combat in the SalleFighting in the Salle can follow two systems: - The consent rule, that typically used in Fa'e roleplay. - The dice system. Roll 1d20. 1-3 = Critical failure. Roller takes 1 pt damage. 4-10 = Miss. No damage. 11-17 = Hit. Opponent takes 1 pt damage. 18 - 20 = Critical hit. Opponent takes 2 pts damage. This requires you to predetermine your character's hit points, and to keep track of such. The dice determine your actions, so for example - if in battle you rolled a 20, you might, say, score a direct slice to a vulnerable area on your opponent's body. But if you rolled a 1, you might write your character as stumbling and pulling a muscle. It's actually a very fun and unpredictable way to run a sparring session or fight! Give it a whirl sometime. Thanks to Youkochylde for providing this system for use.

There is a skittering sound as rats scurry away with Amaris' entrance into the room.
The weapons all remain. They are not in their usual places, however, but all buried and portruding from the flesh of countless motionless bodies all scattered around the room. The cabinet the weapons originated from is overturned, and one of the doors smashed and lying several feet away. There is a wheelchair in the corner, upturned, with the wheels still spinning.
She is still on the ceiling; the single chandelier in the room points upwards, chain remaining taut. One of the three mirrors are misted; the others reflect normally.

Amaris gasped and winced when she saw the bloody sight above (or below), crawling into the room. It was horrible, but - a great boon for her. She would never get used to that sort of thing... but she had to focus on the task at hand.
She made her way towards the chandelier and, grasping the chain firmly, began to slowly stand up. Ripping the cloth from her wound, she began to concentrate.
She started with a hum, a low, vibrating hum - she went lower and lower, testing the vibrations, until finally she hit the point that the corpses held, the low, solemn hum of the abandoned flesh. Harmonizing perfectly, the hum became stronger and filled the room.
"In nomines deorum.." she began, chanting and trying to keep grasp of the energy.
She twisted the bloody cloth and dripped her blood onto the foreheads of the mangled corpses below her. It was a shoddy spell at best, but it was the only thing she could do while she remained on the ceiling. Or they remained on the ceiling. Whatever.
Rise, she uttered, and a portion of the mass began to shift below (or above).
Inwardly, she was giddy with glee. There were enough corpses here to build a small army - more than enough to protect herself and to try and save some of the scattered ones. She continued to chant and hum, moving around the ceiling to spread her blood on the other corpses.

The corpses seem to have no problem with this. For some reason, whatever force is terrorizing the other rooms is -- while still present -- not active here.
One point of notice, however, is that more than a few of the corpses look familiar. One has only shreds of pale skin remaining on the oddly-constructed skeleton, one white batlike wing, only half a tail, and flamingly red hair that comes out in clumps as the body moves.
The other familiar one is much smaller than the others, hardly more than a shapeless lump with some faint texture to its ashy skin. It's raised in places, like rocks, and it possesses a stump of a tail, no human ears, and toeless feet.

Amaris inhaled deeply as she noted the similarities. It couldn't be possible... even if they were dead, they couldn't have decayed so rapidly, could they? Her hum faltered slightly and the corpses fell to the ground again.
She sighed, took a deep breath, and felt for the energy line again, determined not to let this get in her way. For the greater good, she reminded herself, and squeezed her arm roughly for more blood. Maybe it wasn't the smartest idea to practically feed the house her blood right now, but... it's not like she had any better choice.

BreathebreathebreathefindhuntFEED.
Callix could not control himself. He was no longer the boy who entered the HQ. No, instead he crawled around on the floor, nails dragging and clawing along, wings flared to make himself look bigger. He avoided much of the possessed headquarters by pure luck, entering the Salle on the floor.
Corpses seemed to dance in front of his eyes, but his senses pulled him up. Slitted green eyes rose to find a woman on the ceiling, strange creatures moving, seemingly at her command. With a decisive grunt, the incubus found the nearest wall and started clawing his way up it, towards Amaris.
MusthavemustHAVE.
When he finally reached the ceiling, his target in his sights, Callix began to stalk her like a lion in the savanna, waiting for the right moment to pounce.

Amaris continued to synch with the bodies, nearly finished... when she felt the higher, stronger hum of a living being. Irritated, she snapped her eyes open and looked around 'til she saw a mop of red hair crawling up the wall.
Hey, she said initially, then cleared her throat and tried again. "Hey," she attempted, then shook her head. "Get out of here, kid. You'll mess things up."
Unfortunately for her, and something she had never experienced before, the corpses seemed to recognize the traces of whatever was haunting the headquarters at the moment in Callix, and the hum changed to a slightly higher frequency. Amaris cursed under her breath and began to mumble orders to them, then uncertaintly began to head to the exit.

The incubus child did not even hear her, the pulsing of his ancient drive filling his mind and ears. All her could see was her, his vision narrowing so much that he did not even see the corpses any longer. He crawled towards her, nails digging into the floor (ceiling?) to drag himself closer.
As soon as he was close enough, he reached for her neck, tail trying to wrap around an arm. He had to pin her down, though he simply wasn't built for that. He was far too light, but he had mindless determination on his side.
"MustHAVE." he growled, trying to drag her back down onto the floor. Or at least closer to him.

As the corpses become animated and move, one knocks into the broken cabinet previously known as the weapons cabinet. The splintered wood shifts and further collapses into a heap, revealing the smaller (and intact?) cabinet beside it.

..................................... ............................... ......... ... .
Amaris made a loud gutteral sound and the corpses began to practically fling themselves up at the ceiling, trying to knock the boy off of her. Get off of me! she hissed and twisted to try and elbow him somewhere, anywhere. The intact cabinet caught her eye and she called something further down (or up) to her mini-army, and a few of them crawled over to the cabinet and tried to force it open. Taking her attention off of Callix, even for that moment, was probably stupid, she realized grimly, then went back to flailing.
The hell was wrong with this place?

No, no, NO you are not allowed to leave!
Callix's eyes pleaded with his prey, the inner rage of the incubus unaware of its body's small size. It simply wasn't used to being this young or this small, without the power and weight it used normally to pin down prey. The slamming of corpses into the ceiling/floor didn't help much either, as the incubus had to crawl in between the masses of flesh to chase after Amaris.
"COMEBACK."
It wasn't at all versed in language, the breath from the child becoming raspy and desperate. As quickly as he could, Callix clawed after Amaris, reaching for her nearest leg.

"Get away from me!" She shrieked and lashed out with her other leg. Without bothering to check whether the blow had landed or not, she grasped with her uninjured arm the outstretched hand of one of the bodies below and hauled herself up (or down) in that fashion. Meanwhile, the cabinet burst open and various medical supplies spilled onto the floor. Dear gods, antiseptic, she said, and, casting one last wary look at the boy below (or above), she started to crawl to the supplies through the masses of bodies lest she fall back up to the ceiling and start the whole thing over again.

The sudden kick made the child pull back; not frightened, but offended. How dare she deny him? That just wasn't the way things were supposed to be! The corpses prevented him from moving too far forward, but he still got a good look at the medicine cabinet, though nothing registered. Nothing human, anyway. Still, the instinct pulsed through him, and he clawed at the corpses in his way.
"Letmethrough!" Callix growled through his teeth, frustration and anger evident in his face. Wings made to push the corpses away to get to Amaris.
(( MMMM LAMEPOST. ))

The cabinet is easily opened; inside is, as Amaris had guessed, all sorts of healing creams and salves. Some jars are dented, and others have had their caps left unscrewed, but the majority of them seem to be intact. There are 12 jars in all; 2 are dented and 3 have been unscrewed. There is also a small sewing kit and, oddly enough, a small box of scalpels with a sheet of paper inside.
One of the corpses standing up to face Callix is the mirror of his own.

Making her way over to the cabinet, rooted down by her undead legion, she began to stuff her pockets with everything she could fit in there, sealed bottle or no. She glanced behind her quickly as Callix clawed his way through, took a deep breath, then pulled a dull sword from one of the nearby bodies, wrinkling her nose at the smell. Bracing herself, she let the bodies release her and she fell back onto the ceiling heavily. She took a deep breath in through her nose, then looked down, holding the sword at her side.
"Hey!" She called, then started laughing for how utterly insane she must be to try this - but she pulled down the collar of her shirt and held the sword in both her hands. Hopefully she'd just hit him hard enough to knock him out.. Hopefully she'd hit at all.
((Amaris has a 1-20 range. 1 is critical miss. Since she's provoking, if she crit misses, she's out. In normal combat, she'll deal 1 damage to herself. 2-5 is miss. 5-18 is hit, dealing 1 damage to Callix. 18-20 is crit hit, knocking him out automatically.
Callix has a 1-10 range. 1 is critical miss, in which he deals one damage to himself... 2-3 is miss, 4-8 is hit, 8-10 is crit hit, knocking Amaris out.
Amaris: 10 hp Callix: 10 hp
OK GO))
edit: Hefting the sword up, she swung it as hard as she could bear. It struck, but not hard enough - she cursed and moved back, staggering under its weight.
