Appearance:
Tao stands at approximately 6' 1", with little to no body fat. His shihakusho consist of the traditional black hakama, with straw sandles, but no socks. His torso is covered with a black sleeveless shirt trimmed with yellow around the shoulders. He usually carries a pack of ciggars in his Hakama, and a little one in his mouth.
His raven hair is cropped short, spiked back, and his good eye is deep brown. The patch over his right eye is a design from the Research and Developement Department, which allows him to see normally without the flaw of dept perception.
Personality: Tao tends to speak whatever is on his mind, even if others dissagrees with his opinions. He usually takes his role as Shinigami more on the lines of a hobby rather than a responcibility. More than anything, he'd rather enjoy wine, women and song rather than fight.
He tends to address his fellow captains in a rather casual manner, even going so far as to calling the Head Captain "sweetcakes" at one point. He's still feeling the pounding headaches from that ordeal.
Even if many see him as a lazy loafer, he harbors a deep hatred of all things Hollow, due to what happened to his friend Kenichi. He wouldn't think twice upon entering battle if a soul, no matter what kind, was in danger.
Bio: Tao was one of the few soul who ended up adopted by a shinigami when he came to the Soul Society. As such, he lived a life of posperity within the Seireitei. He joined the Academy in his first try, and graduated with excellent markings on both Hakudo and Zanjitzu.
He did not however join the Court Guard Squad immediatly. Instead, he remained with the Academy and took on the role of a teacher. It was during this time he met Kenichi Kurosawa, a young and enthusiastic soul only in his first year. Tao soon became friends with the boy, teaching him all he learn at the academy. It was in his final year, when the incident occured with Kenichi, where he became a Vizard, and was sentence to death.
Tao was mortified by the news, feeling he lost one of his best friends. He later learned that Kenichi had escaped with an unknown assailant into the world of the living, choosing to exhile himself from the others.
Feeling isolated, Tao finally joined with the Court Guard Squad, and moved within the ranks, until he was made Captain of Squad 3. To this day, he still feels the sorrow over losing a friend like Kenichi.

Zanpakuto's appearance: Keibatsu is the unsheathed blade in the picture, Meibatsu is the katana still in its sheath.

Shikai attacks: Keibatsu- The black blade of Judgement is us only for binding, not attacking. A cut from Keibatsu's blade renders the area cut paralyzed for a limited time frame. (Three minutes tops)
Keibatsu also has the ability to imprison foes within a black sphere, which can only be shattered by an overpowering riatsu.
Meibatsu- The crimson blade of Retribution is the opposite, a weapon set to kill rather than bind. Meibatsu strength lies within the amount of damage dealt to Tao. The more wounded Tao becomes, the deadlier Meibatsu is.
Meibatsu's special ability allows it power to merge with Keibatsu's black sphere, changing it to red, and striking the foe within from all sides, similar to the Hado spell, Black Coffin.

Bankai attacks: Keiriku batsu envelopes Tao into a bloodlust frenzy, set to kill his aquired target at all cost. He shuns off attacks, letting down all defenses in his form. While his spirit pressure has greatly increase, the danger of this Bankai is his inability to stop. Unless he Bankai is sealed by force, Tao would continue to fight till either his foe dies or he dies.
Tao never attempts to release his Bankai, unless the need arises, for fear of harming his allies.

Incantation: "Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! On the wall of blue flame, inscribe a twin lotus. In the abyss of conflagration, wait at the far heavens."
88. Hiryugekizokushintenraiho (Flying Dragon-Striking Heaven-Shaking Thunder Cannon) — Fires a gigantic blast of spiritual energy resulting in an truly enormous explosion.
Bakudo:
4. Hainawa (這縄, Crawling Rope) — An energy rope entangles a target's arms.
Incantation: "Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini! Look upon yourself with horror and then claw out your own throat!"
30. Shitotsu Sansen (嘴突三閃, Beak-Stab Triple Beam) - Shoots three beams of light that pin the target to one place on a surface, slamming into his/her body in three places in a shape of a perfect triangle.
37. Tsuriboshi (吊星, Suspending Star) - Creates a star-shaped cushion of Spiritual Energy, which anchors it to nearby objects with "ropes" of spirit particles. It can stop falling objects, acting like a safety net.
58. Kakushitsuijaku (摑趾追雀, Summoning of the Tracking Sparrows) — Tracks and locates any spiritual force the user focuses on. To activate it, the user must draw a circle on the ground, cut into four parts with a specific character in each. The incantation animates the circle, causing various numbers to appear within until the specific set is found. The number set seems to be a variation on longitude and latitude.
Incantation: "Walls of ironsand, a priestly pagoda, glowing ironclad fireflies. Standing upright, silent to the end."
77. Tenteikūra (天挺空羅, Heavenly Rickshaws in Silken Air) — Transmits messages to anyone within Soul Society. In addition to reciting the spell, the user must draw specific markings on their arms, which are animated by the spell to convey the messages.
