 The Entertainment RoomNext to the Magician's Study is another windowless chamber. Soundproofed on the outside to avoid noise pollution elsewhere in the building, the Entertainment Room is primed for FUN! Against the wall it shares with the Study is a full-size big-screen TV with cinema-quality speakers. The TV has access to Gaia's full cable network, and a DVD player. The DVD collection is on a shelf nearby; similar to the Library below, the contents of the shelf seem to change depending on what the prospective viewer wants to watch. Films of every genre can be found here. There are also game systems plugged in - a PlayStation 2, X-Box, and GameCube are all ready, and those wishing to bring and play their own systems are welcome to it. The game shelf is next to the DVDs, and shares that strange property of containing whatever you're looking for. Comfortable couches are ranged to face the TV, enough for a good dozen people to sit and watch. Behind the couches are three card tables with four chairs each. A wood cabinet contains a wide selection of board games and packs of cards. Next to the cabinet is a bookshelf stocked with novels and other books meant to be read for fun. Against the very back wall, near the door, is a small wet bar stocked with snacks, sodas, and even alcohol in a locked fridge that will not open to anyone underage. The room has checkered tile near the wet bar, beige carpet everywhere else, and is decorated in soft sage greens and browns. Strangely enough, the frames on the walls contain not movie posters as might be expected, but art nouveau prints. Huh.

Kia had somehow convinced her guardian to babysit for the weekend. She'd then stuffed all of her DVDs into a bag, wrote a note to Taka, drove herself to fa'e HQ, and after finding the mist gone and new rooms.
Though that had been hours ago by now. Kia had been obviously there for several hours already, she'd dumped her bag of clothes and makeup and her now un-needed bag of DVDs on the ground and had been stretched out across the couch with several open packets of chips and a half-eaten cheesecake. Jurrassic Park was on the TV screen, blaring LOUD all around Kia, and the curtians were drawn so that the Entertainment room was mostly dark.
But there was some light, as Kia hadn't shut the door properly. And the noise from the dionsaurs was probably filling almost everything in HQ that wasn't shut up...

"Ah, I see I'm not alone..."
With the blaring sound effects all around, Kia most likely couldn't hear the footsteps walking towards the couch, nor the light swish of liquid in a bottle. Though, she could most likely smell it.
Honestly, Rei wasn't drinking all that much. It was just halfway done with the first or second bottle of wine before she realized that the thumping she was hearing from the second floor wasn't a hallucination... and her speech wasn't slurred... yet. Rei sat on the edge of the couch and poked the egyptian fa'e with a free hand. "Hey."

Kia had never liked dinosaurs. Even the big ones that ate 'vegetables' scared her, and that scene with the bracosaurus eating the leaves out of their arms?
She had shoved a potato chip packet in the way and a cushion over hear head for that part, and barely noticed the smell of wine drifting towards her. It might have been more unusual had Kia not opened a bottle of red wine that now sat on the bar nearby.
"AHHH!" Kia shrieked when something poked at her, and fell off the couch in a shower of potato chips, cushions and hair.

Rei couldn't help but crack up at the sight. That was Kia for ya! "Are you alright?" she asked her as she squatted down and offered her free hand.

(( ...I hope this HQ has house elves. Or something. o.o I just thought about how many loose feathers and shedding fur from fa'e that would be dropped. xd ))
"Yes." Kia replied, grabbing at Rei's hand and somehow getting up off the ground. She pulled several loose feathers out of her hair and blew them away so they floated onto the ground instead. "Almost."
With that, she spooned a giant slab of cheesecake into her mouth. It took a little while but Kia got it down.
Then she took one good look at Rei, beaming, and attacked the other with a crushing hug. "Rei!"

Splash! Wine shot out of the bottle and spilled out like a minature wave onto the floor as it almost flew out of her hands. Rei winced as she was practically squeezed to death. But it was okay with her - after all, she hadn't seen Kia for a long time. "Hey," she managed to say as she tried to wrap her arms around her without spilling any more. "How have you been? Oh, and watch out for the wine on the floor." Rei then stared at the stain and sighed. Poor thing. Good wine shouldn't be wasted. It should've been down someone's throat, drowning problems for hours by possibly creating new ones.

"I have been bored," Kia replied straight away, "Bored and sick of being mummy while Taka does his manly 'I will get the income thing!'"
Kia had found some kind of satisfaction in this honesty thing. Even if she did love Taka, it was very nice to tell someone else that he was trying to be manly. Besides. She had no sex life! How could anyone even attempt to lie when they had no sex life?
"What about you?"
She poked at the poor wine with her toe, morning it. Rei had picked a good bottle, from the smell. They'd have to seek it out later in the cupboard.

Rei took another swig from the bottle before answering Kia. She wrapped her around Kia as she explained how her life was going.
"I'm not going anywhere very fast." She sighed, looking down at the floor again. "Onuris has been so busy at work that I've barely seen him - heck, I don't know where he is! And I just don't know what to do." Rei smirked as she looked at Kia. "I guess we're in the same boat, hun."

"I think we are, and we must plan together because we know each other's feelings." Kia agreed after a few moments of thought, pulling at Rei as she fell down onto the couch in an ungrateful flop.
She leaned foward to pull the potato chips and the cheesecake within reach of the couch once more, looked at Rei and called over the roar of a very loud T-Rex, "What are you going to do about Onuris, have you got plans?"

Rei took a seat next to Kia as she finished off the rest of the wine. Sigh. Why couldn't there be more? As the dinosaurs' roars and the humans' screams blared over the soundtrack, she couldn't help but look at the bottle, pouting. Why couldn't there be more? And she didn't feel like going downstairs and then going back up. Maybe she'll just stay here. In the spinny, blurry room. Flop. THUD.
"Hmmmmmmmmm?"

Kia cuddled up to Rei's side, watching the dinosaurs and people scream at each other. Honestly. Why couldn't they all just agree that they were all intelliagnt and that they all liked eating meat?
She was quite sure that a veloswhatever and a human could work well together if they really wanted to.
"Hmmmmm? Oh, what will you do with Onuris if he is being stupid?"

"Ah... ahreeeelydunno..." Rei's words slurred together as she cuddled up to Kia and moaned. "Crap... my head hurts." She closed her eyes hard and made herself confortable on the couch; making her friend a pillow for her head. Sigh. Stupid headache. "I juss know that he'll have to make it up to me..."
After all, where was he right now? Was he really working hard to make a good living for them, or did he forget all about her? The house they were supposed to live in together was awfully cold; their bedroom feeling so empty without him there next to her when she woke up every morning. After coming back from a journey to clear her mind, it seemed like everything was still the same. He still wasn't back. And now here she was at the HQ, trying to get herself drunk.
Rei could feel tears stinging her eyes. She tried her best to hide it by using her hand to cover her eyes. "Kiaaaa..." she mumbled. "Coodahhavesomemo'wine?"

Normally, walking into a place like the Entertainment Room would send Dusty into a series of hyperactive bouncing and thrills. Television, video games, and all the mind-rotting electronics she could desire? A toddler's dream!
Of course, normal would imply the HQ wasn't one huge horror house. It would also imply that Dusty had the emotions and free will required to care about such things.
As was, her entry into the room was quiet and calculating, scanning the room for any threat as she and Lethe entered the new room. Any sign of danger would be answered, promptly and brutally, with the business end of her wooden sword.

Stark contrast to the rooms preceding, the Entertainment room looked strangely untouched by the horrors that had slithered their way into every crack and nook in the HQ. Sure, the floor looked a little rotted, and something had toppled and scattered the various DVDs and video games carelessly around the room- but there were no creatures a-lurking, the pictures were all like they were supposed to be, and, while the rest of the HQ was cast into darkness, this room was actually lit by the glow of the television, which played endless static on its monitor.
Maybe the corruption hadn't progressed fully to this room?
