It has been said that Snake Eater is the final Metal Gear game but we all know that Kojima is known for last minute suprises and plot twist so could there be a new Metal Gear game in the works?

Who are these people???
But yes, there shall be another Metal Gear (Besides MG: Acid), if not another Metal Gear Solid.
THe Solid series was a group of 3 episodes that made up the sequel to Metal Gear 1 & 2. In other words, MGS: 1, 2, & 3 WAS Metal Gear 3.
So... Hideo Kojima tries to trick the world by saying he will not make another Metal Gear Solid game. And that's just fine because the Solid series are complete--What he didn't say is that he's not going to make another Metal Gear game, so that leaves only one conclusion...
Metal Gear 4: Rise of Raiden (Lol, just kidding--But I think there's definitely going to be a MG: 4)

Considering Snake Eater is a somewhat recent game, it probably won't be for another few years on PS3

It just depends on how they work it... I don't want it to be all half-assed like Snake's Revenge was. Damn you, UltraGames.

Snake's Revenge, oh my... It's sort of funny though. It was the first Metal Gear game that used a knife in it and look at how much you depend on one in MGS3. Perhaps all those scenes of Snake (Big Boss) in his CQC stance with his knife and .45 are to mock the makers of Revenge...?

You know what I find funny? Yeah its true that better features come out with newer games. Metal Gear Solid 2 in the timeline does come after Metal Gear Solid 1. But I must ask why Snake (from MGS1) or Raiden dont use CQC or use a knife? In my opinion, MGS3 is the best in the series, but it takes place in 1964. I love the new era of the game and I love the fact that there isnt some "Super-human" force at work, or there isnt something like the Patriots who are the true rulers of your life! Sorry if this post doesnt make a whole lot of sence.

MajorOcelot ...But I must ask why Snake (from MGS1) or Raiden dont use CQC or use a knife? Solid Snake isn't a "big fan of blades". And Raiden might get blood in his hair. I imagine that it's just murder to clean! haha.
