((this is a story on how Storm came to be in WD pardon my somewhat noobish writing this is my first bunny RP XD)) the rain had slowed to scattered drops as frith awoke and began to rise in the sky when the grass was disturbed by strange and tired paws. a black ans silver rabbit came tottering through the field slowly looking somewhat worn and underfed he had come a long way from a warren where the last of his family died, and deciding he could no longer stay he decided to start anew and find a place he could permanently call home. he had heard the stories of Hazel-rah and the down he forged but he never thought he would live there. stopping to nibble on some wet green here and there he looked at the great hill with a bit of discouragement. he'd been running all night and didn't think he had the energy to get over it, but he didn't want to sleep out in the open either. 'well... let's see how far up I get, at least then I can say I tried' he thought to himself before slowly lolloping up the hill all he could smell was wet earth and greens he'd never know how close he was to a new warren.

Brambleberry casually grazed at the particularly pleasant dew-covered patch of sweet grass stretched out before him, his ears tucked back behind him loosely, resting against strong and buxom shoulders as he relaxed, basking in the lord Frith's delightful warmth. The sunlight playing across his muddy brown fur from behind the thinning clouds above was most enjoyable, and the gentle breeze that blew over him was bliss. Though Brambleberry didn't particularly care much for rainy weather, it was shaping up to be a lovely day. Although the young buck knew that as a recently-appointed officer in the Owsla, he should be more on the alert---he didn't want to let his chief, nor his captain down, after all---the promotion had just been too sudden for him. A fight with a Homba and the life of a friend, that's what his position had cost him. Although he'd longed to join the Owsla's ranks since he was just a kitten, had what he'd had to loose really been worth it? The scar on his shoulder firmly told him no. Hraka! The scabs of the scar hadn't even completely healed over yet... He still didn't feel very "official". Probably wouldn't until Cocklebur warmed up to him some. And besides, even if he'd wanted something to do, it wasn't even Ni-Frith yet. Most everyone were either just grazing or down in their burrows. Nothing exciting was going on. Just as he thought this, however, the grey-brown pelted buck perked his ears, sitting up on his haunches before loping over to the edge of the down. It seemed that he spoke too soon. There, not even half-way up the run, was a small black rabbit he had never seen before. Probably a Hlessi. "Seems we have a visitor." Bram said over his shoulder, to any other officers who may have been near by. "I'll take care of it." he stated. No reason more then one should go down to greet the other rabbit. At a fairly-quick pace the buck tromped down the hill and up to the new-comer, stopping him from his advancement up the down and to the warren. "State your business." Brambleberry said polity enough, hist voice soft but firm. He was very careful not to appear overly fierce or intimidating, though he was quite sure to set his forelegs and make himself look tough none-the-less. The warren had just over-come a bout of illness, after all, and Brambleberry knew that they didn't exactly need any others who might be sick attempting to join their fold if they were only going to repeat the process. ((forgive my n00bishness as well, as this is the very first time I've RP'd on Gaia, and it's also my first time RPing a rabbit. ^_^; Sorry if it's no good...))

Storm's steely blue eyes went wide as the sound of a much larger buck came up to him with a powerful stance and a firm voice. though not an aggressive one like he had expected from his appearance, he was large and strong, yes, much more then Storm. he knew he would loose a fight so he made it a point not to do anything that could be mistaken for a threat. When the other rabbit addressed him his long ears flattened against his back. "My name is Stormcloud, sir." he said humbly " my warren was flooded and none of the survivors made it this far. I am seeking a place to call home. One that is free of snares and high rivers." he explained as best he could, to tell the whole story was a bit too much for him so soon after his sad train of events. this wasn't the first time he had asked to join a new warren though the last one he wished he had just passed by, it may have saved the siblings he had lead so far.
though he had no scars his wounds where deep. But even as tired and lost as he was he spoke clearly and politely and held himself firm. He was too full of pride to show his pains. After his initial introduction he sat back on his hinds and brushed a paw over his nose trying to look somewhat respectable after his venture. He was never anything special but he was taught pride by his father and discipline by his mother.

"Hmm." Brambleberry said thoughtfully, his form relaxing as he sat back on his hind legs, no longer on the offensive. While trickery was a common part of rabbit society, 'lying' was not, and so the officer was glad to take the other buck at his word. If his warren had been flooded, then it had been flooded. Tragic, but rah would still want to talk to him.
"Well there are no high rivers here, and certainly no men." he laughed, nodding towards the tall birch tree at the top of the down. "My name is Brambleberry. I'm an Owsla officer here in the Watership Warren, but if you're looking to join us, it'll be our chief rabbit, Bracken-rah, that you want to talk to. I could take you to see him, if you like."
With that Brambleberry seemed to notice exactly how fatigued the smaller, darker-furred male was.
"You look tired." He stated, blinking as his ears swiveled forward, full attention on the other buck, "do you need help climbing to the top?"

Storm flicked his ears at the prospect of meeting the chief, it sounded promising. he sighed a little in relief, such a perfect sounding place he would have expected a less pleasant attitude at his request to join them. " I am delighted to hear that, and I would indeed like to meet your chief. if I am to stay it would be his word that says so." he nodded hoping he didn't look too terrible to meet the chief. though he was too young to really KNOW his old warrens chief he had heard he was a very formal rabbit and expected those he met with to look their best for him. and he looked like a dry muddpuppy it was hard to make out the silver color on his feet through the mud stuck in his fur.
though upon Brambleberry's asking if he needed help he caught a second wind. his pride told him not to accept such help so long as his legs still worked he would run on them. "I think I can manage but thank you. though I hadn't expected such understanding." he said with a polite nod though he would wait for Brambleberry to lead the way up the run so as not to seem rude or over eager. the last warren he occupied was more manners then anything else.

"Good then." Brambleberry said with a nod, quite pleased that the other rabbit (who was not too much older then a kitten) was still capable of climbing by himself. Brambleberry wasn't much of a coddle-er, but he was willing help out when it was needed. Still, he he still preferred to see others actually try and help themselves rather than relying on others.
Turning, the muted-brown furred officer turned about face and began his climb back up, glancing behind him every few feet or so to make sure that Stormcloud was keeping up with him.
"It's the way this warren is run. It was established by Hazel-rah and Hrair of other rabbits who were wanderers like yourself, Hlessi without a burrow to call their own. Though that was quite a long time ago, the Watership Warren has always been open to travelers and new-comers looking for a haven or a place to call home. I was born here, but requests like yours are hardly new at all."

Storm shook his head, flopping his ears about drying them a little more as he was still somewhat damp, before starting up the hill after Brambleberry, he paused to huff a few times but he pushed himself up at a fairly decent pace he listened to Brambleberry's explanation to his previous comment and he felt very relived, this was surely the best place for a rabbit to be.
"so, you think my chances of staying here are fairly good?" he asked, hoping it wasn't a rude question but he was getting more and more hopeful this place would be the end of his search for a home. the black and silver buck kept standing on his hinds and sniffing the air, listening and watching. a natural habit he always had an alert yet composed posture that hadn't been seen in a wile due to lack of rest. he licked a paw and cleaned his face a bit more, making it easier to see the silver lines under his eyes.
just before the top of the hill he stopped to catch his breath a bit and scratched an itch behind his ear with a long back foot. which was somewhat counterproductive as he just muddied the back of his ear. "oh bugger..." he muttered to himself, attempting to clean the spot again, for being mostly black he cared allot for his hygiene. "you can tell I don't do so well for the does huh?" he asked in a mildly humored voice before giving up and taking another short hop forward.

"You're a little small to be worrying about does quite yet, aren't you?" Brambelberry teased as they made their trek upwards, his fore and hind legs working together to pull him up the grass hill. "I'm sure your chances of being able to stay here are perfectly fine. There isn't any need to worry about that."
When they reached the top, Brambleberry told Storm to stay where he was (on the outskirts and a bit away from the other rabbits) while he went to go and talk to their chief about seeing him. Then he lolloped away down into a burrow for several long minutes. When he finally did return, it was alone. He sighed in slight frustration as he he came back over to the smaller, dark-pelted buck, sitting back as he scratched behind his ear with his hind foot.
"I'm sorry, but Braken-rah seems to be rather busy at the moment, and can't see you quite yet." He said, feeling a bit like a jerk. Stormcloud had seemed so very happy about the prospect of being invited into the warren. He knew he'd feel bad if he let the other rabbit down, "But you can hold council with him soon. In the meantime, you're allowed to stay. Rest if you like. I'm afraid I've been ordered to make sure you don't get too close to the others though, just for the time being. We've just recently had a plight of illness, caused by a few newcomers, so you can understand if our chief's a little hesitant. But it's only until he meets you for himself. I can keep you company until then though, if you like."

Storm laughed slightly at the comment on his size. "I probably do look small compared to someone as big as you, and I was the largest of my siblings" he said, slightly misunderstanding the joke. though his ears perked when it was noted that his chances where good. he liked knowing the odds, he sat when instructed and waited patiently for Bramble berry as he hoped off into the warren while he waited he sat on his hinds and preened licking his paws and grooming his coat, stopping to nibble on bits of grass and streatch but for the most part he tried to make himself look respectable
his ears perked again at the sound of Bramble berry's return. with a curious mind he listened to the Officer as he explained the Chief was attending to duties that required his full attention, this Storm could fully understand, he knew the role of a chief is the most important in the warren and his time is valuable. "it's alright, he will see me when he is ready." Storm nodded though his ears drooped a bit he figured it was best. " probably better I don't see him until I am a bit rested. I want to be able to prove I am healthy and fit." he said with a bit of a prideful nod. " oh you don't have to stay with me if you have things to do. I don't want to waste your time." he said with a faint stutter. he was very surprised at the kindness he was being shown and it made him feel a little uneasy, though he was a proud sort he still felt at times unimportant enough for such gestures.

Brambleberry merely flicked his ears at Storm's stuttering, something like a bemused expression coming across his smooth lapin face.
"Don't you worry about that." he laughed softly, "I'm not really on-duty at the moment, so it's not trouble. And even if I were, I'm considerably new to the Owsla so I could probably use a good cuffing now and then. Besides, Chief told me himself to look after you, in a manner of speaking, so consider that my duty for the time being. If you're tired though, I can take you to one of the Burrows more on the out-skirts. The ones that the Hlessi tend to use."

Storm quirked his expression to the full extent of his ability at the other rabbit "look after me?" he chuckled softly in an amused manner, the whole thing sounded absurd. "I can see how that would seem like a good idea though. I promise I won't be any trouble to you"
his smile retracted as he yawned abruptly, both ears lopping on his back he lacked the energy to hold them up to attention for the time being. "any burrow sounds like home to me right now" he said lazily, nodding to himself with a slight bobble to his head as most over-tired things tend to do wile trying to remain alert past normal limits.
