If you are/were in a school band, what is/was your chair?
When I played Alto I was 2nd, (THe 1st chair took lots of private lessons so he was really good), I play tenor now and I am first chair because I'm awsome.

iiCaptain Hitsugaya I am First Chair out of 3,000 other Trumpets in the All-State and I am First Chair in Band out of 16 CAUSE I AM AWEEESOME ...3000 trumpets? that seems a little excessive doesn't it?...your all-state must not be very selective if 3000 trumpet players get in...i mean...NOBODY in the professional world would use 3000 of any instrument...it's just way too much.

I'm a first chair baritone, out of two people, including myself. But, I'm not in symphonic band, I'm only in concert. The concert band and symphonic played a concert together once though, I was second chair.

I was first chair Alto, till I was asked to switch to Bari The only one, so that doesn't really matter, then I found somebody to replace me Now I'm down to third Alto in concert band. My BD gave up on seating arrangements. And second in Jazz band. (for the same reason as concert) Booo hoooo.... (he hasn't done high school band in a long time... he's new this year and was teaching at a middle school.)
So I guess, we don't really have... 'chairs' any more. We're just stuck with what we started with.

I'm first chair in concert band and third in symphonic band when they ask me to come and play. I should be second in symphonic but I didn't take the class and I just walk in and play for concerts so I'm stuck with that chair.. But I'm fine with it to be honest, I know I'm a strong player and that's good enough for me.
