Ferryde is an elite guard in the Cordian court. He is, therefore, greatly surprised to have a young woman delivered to him. This woman is the "key" to a great treasure of legend, and it is Ferryde's job to keep the young woman under control and transport her from the outer border of Cordian to the Capitol, where her destiny will fall into the hands of the power-hungry King Dalta.

This is the premise of this one-on-one roleplay. I will take basically whoever PMs their profile to me. I will play Ferryde or the young woman, depending on what the other roleplayer would like to do.

Again, I am only looking for one person. Everyone is human and magic is present, but not everyone has use of it. The setting is the whole medieval kingdom feel.

Fill out this profile and PM it to me:

Kathryn opened her eyes and blinked to focus them. She sat up and looked around. She appeared to be in a stone cell of some kind.
Her memory of how she had gotten there was a bit fuzzy. She remembered that it was nighttime, she was in her house, she couldn't sleep. She remembers a dark hulking shadow and then pain in her head. Her head still hurt. She put a hand to it and felt a huge bump and she had dried blood matted in her hair. I must have been knocked unconscious she thought. How long have I been out? Where am I?
"Hello?" she called. "Is anyone there?" Even if nobody came, she still felt she had to try to get some answers. "Hello?" she called a bit louder hoping someone, maybe a guard-since she seemed to be in some kind of prison cell- would hear her.

Ferryde stormed into the dungeon in a less then friendly manner. Some great honor this was, babysitting some brat and dragging her half-way across the country. It was utterly ridiculous. What a waste of his talents. Was he being punished for something?

He unlocked the cell, ignoring the calls of "Hello?" from within. The door opened, but provided little opportunity for escape. His powerful frame filled the doorway. He held up a sack, his irritation obvious. "Travel clothes." He explained as minimally as possible. "Put them on. And keep your voice down, unless you want to die." He glanced over his shoulder, listening. No sound. There wouldn't be. No one cared about this little brat. All of this secrecy was just ridiculous.

Kathryn looked up as the guard entered the cell, blocking the doorway- her only escape. "Travel clothes... right." she said as the guard indicated the bag. Probably trying to disguise me so I wont be recognized by anyone looking for me she thought as she reached for the bag. Since she was already hurt she didn't think she could put up much of a fight against the guard and she figured she should do as she was told. She reached for the sack and started riffling through it to find something appropriate. "Wait... travel clothes, where are we going?" she asked, half afraid of the answer.

"Away." Ferryde responded with the charm of a poisonous snake. "Unless you would like to stay here in this dungeon?" He was looking down, fastening an odd cuff to his wrist. It seemed like a shackle, but far too docorative, and attached to no chain. It seemed rather pointless to take so much of his attention.

"Well if my choice is between this dungeon and someplace else, I'd probably take somewhere else. But there could be places much worse than in here." Kathryn finished dressing. She noticed the guard messing with the metal ring on his wrist. "What is that?" she asked before she could stop herself in her curiosity. I'll probably just get another mysterious, vague answer she thought.

Ferryde responded by grabbing her hand and pulling it up. He was a good deal taller than she. The motion nearly caused him to wrench her up off of her feet. He fastened a similar cuff about her wrist and released her.

He obviously wasn't at all interested in being charming.

"This will keep you from wandering too far from me as we travel." He explained, putting special emphasis on 'wandering'. "Come. And remain silent, or I will cut your tongue out." He tossed the threat lightly, but was more than capable of committing the deed. He led her out into a dank and dark tunnel. They were in a low, old, abandoned area of the dungeon. Rather than leading her toward the light and civilization, he grabbed a torch and led her into the darkness.

He didn't even look back. She was unarmed and helpless. Even if she tried to run or failed to follow him, the cuff would yank her to him - attracted to its twin on his own wrist.

Kathryn's mind was almost working too fast for her to keep up. What did he mean about "wandering"? And where is he taking me? Many questions swam in her head, longing to be on hep lips instead, but she kept quiet. She had no desire to have her tongue removed, and she thought the guard was more that capable of pulling that off if he had wanted to. So she followed him quietly down the dark tunnel.

Ferryde felt paranoia creeping through him. He set his jaw and cocked his head as he walked, listening for the sounds of life about him. He heard a rat moving through the walls, but nothing human.

Still, caution told him to be quick. The king wanted her out quietly, no questions asked. He would do as he requested. His curiosity was mounting. Why was this little waif so important to the king? He could only guess.

They continued down the tunnel. Her curiosity finally got the better of her. "Are you going to tell me where we are going?" Kathryn asked in barely a whisper.

(( I'm going to skip ahead a bit, since it's kind of dragging. Is that alright with you? ))

They had been traveling for days. The journey from the city of Dol where they had started to the capitol was taking a long time, mostly because Ferryde was paranoid. They traveled mostly at night, traveled light and inconspicuous. He followed all of the king's orders, but saw little reason to do so. The young woman was harmless. She cowered at his lamest of threats and seemed honestly intimidated by him. She was no one of royalty, certainly. Why did the king value her so?

Finally, they arrived in the small town of Grett, the half-way point on their journey. There would be answers here. He had been guaranteed as much. They stopped at the designated inn. He paid for a room and led her to it. It was the largest and comfiest of rooms they had stayed in since their journey had begun. A single large bed sat in the center of the room, surrounded by comforts the two had rarely experienced on their long journey. There was a door leading to a washroom with hot water available.

"We will stay here for a day." He said as they entered.
