Well this was a bit of a mess. Blade didn't really know what happened exactly that caused everyone to split but they were more or less lost. And in a dark and foggy forest at that. Searching for the rest of the group was a bit out of the question seeing how dark it was.
He might have been somewhat used to moving around in darkness but this was a bit of a stretch. At least he was able to have bit of light as he held a small fireball in his right hand. Hopefully the light won't attract unwanted attention, but he'd rather not get himself battered up from walking into every tree or rock in the area.
Besides, he wasn't quite alone here. Which may or may not have been a good thing.
"It doesn't seem like this fog will be clearing up any time soon..." he murmered.

"Keep going." Yuki demanded, clearly on edge. More than once he'd nearly run off and lost himself in the fog when he thought he heard something, at this point he knew better than to separate himself from the two people he'd actually managed not to lose yet; His sister, and Blade.
"I don't think it's going to do any good, Yuki..." Hitsu offered worriedly. She wanted to find everyone just as much as these two did, surely, but what if they were all going in different directions? "We need to wait for the fog to lift, or else we might just be getting farther and farther away."

Stopping for the time being, Blade turned towards Yuki and Hitsu. They were both stressed in their own ways, but for good reason. There was no telling what was going on with the rest of the group. And that aside, they were a little more vulnerable with not being able to see much around them.
"Hitsu's right. We probably should just find a good spot for the night and stay put until things clear up."
It was too bad neither of them knew any sort of air magic, or this trip might be a little easier. But at least he had a few supplies on him that should be enough for the three. At least enough for one small meal.

Yuki growled to himself, but he knew they were right. "If something happens to any of them..." He murmured, slowing to a halt and turning to face the both of them. Was it that he worried about the others getting lost? Or was he not trusting of all of those in the company?
He plopped down onto his rear where he stood, agreeing - even though childishly - that they would stop for the night. "Well, I think we all know who gets to make the fire."
Hitsu frowned lightly. At least he'd listened, but he wasn't happy about it. "You can at least help him find some firewood."
"What for? We're in a forest. We're surrounded by trees." Then the sarcasm. "Hey Blade, take two steps to your left. I think there's some wood around there."

Though he didn't turn around to face Yuki, Blade raised an eyebrow at the various comments the guy made. With a sigh, he shook his head as he kept an eye out for a decent location for them to set up camp.
"If the wood is wet or too fresh, it doesn't burn easy. So while there's a lot around, there's not necessarily a lot that we can use," he said, "And I don't really want to spend more energy than needed to try and get the fire started and going steady."
A little later, he stopped. They had reached a small area that would have to do.
"Does this look good to you guys?"

Yuki had reluctantly gotten up to follow as Blade continued through the fog. He found himself a bit irritated for being a smartass, thanks to the lesson on the flammability of wood that followed. Did Blade honestly think he didn't know? Or was he just trying to make him look stupid in return?
When they'd stopped again, Yuki shrugged. "I doubt we're going to find anything better." With their luck, there was probably an abandoned building a mile away. Stranger things had happened.
"This will be fine." Hitsu replied with more confidence. "We'll just have to hope that everyone else found a place to rest for the night."

For a few moments longer, Blade examined the area. As far as he could tell, there wasn't anything of interest within the immediate area.
"Yeah... Neko and Riyo.. I think are pretty familiar with the wilderness so they should be fine.. as well as anyone who happens to be with them. So we probably don't have to worry about them much."
At least that was what he hoped. The thief placed down the sack he carried before rummaging around for suitable wood. While doing this, he kept one hand occupied with keeping a hold on the small ball of fire that provided their only light source.
"Do you guys see anything that might help pad the ground a bit?"

"I think the only one we'd have to worry about is Mitsu... And I doubt she would have wandered far enough from anyone to end up by herself." Yuki said, figuring that she'd be the only one who couldn't rightly fend for herself as well as the rest of them, if only emotionally.
Hitsu frowned, quietly praying that Mitsu was with someone who would keep her from being frightened.
As Blade worked on starting a fire, Yuki went about looking for something to pad the ground as he'd requested. Really, there was only grass, and a bit of moss. He started collecting it nearby, minding not to stray too far.

"Hopefully she's with someone then.." murmured Blade, though he had doubts she could be off on her own. If anything, his guess was that she was with Neko. Still, there was always the chance something went wrong there..
Once he had enough material, he carefully set them down into a pile before igniting the wood. He had to be careful to not incinerate the kindle, else he'd be getting nowhere with setting this thing up. Before long, they had a nice little campfire going. There weren't many chunks of extra wood for whenever they needed to fuel the flames, but for now they were fine.
"There we go..."
Stepping back, he began to sift through his sack for their food. However, as he searched, the thief was finding that there was less in the bag than he originally remembered. Frowning at this, he rummaged around a little more but it was to no avail. After he was done, he let out a sigh before pulling out the small bun.
I really hope this isn't all we have...

Yuki had seated himself next to the flames wordlessly, wrapping his arms around himself in an attempt to warm up. The feline had set his pack between he and his sister, watching Blade as he rummaged through his own for what turned out to be food.
"I've got most of the rations in mine," Yuki offered, reaching over to open it up and dig through for something for them all to eat.

Blade was just about to offer Hitsu what he thought was all the food they had, but it seemed that wasn't necessary. Thankfully Yuki had some on him as well. With a sigh of relief, he made a mental note to acquire more supplies the next time they were in town. Who knew when that was going to be however?
"Thanks Yuki," he said as he took his share. The thief took little time to start eating. As soon as he finished, he leaned back and tried to look up at the night sky. While he should have expected as such, he was rather disappointed that he couldn't see it at all. Even the treetops were heavily obscured.
It was right around then that he heard a twig snapping nearby. Narrowing his eyes, he looked in the direction the sound came from while slowly reaching for his weapon. It could have been something like a badger or another relatively harmless creature... or it could be something considerably more dangerous.

Blade's gesture was sweet, Hitsu had smiled to him gratefully even as Yuki mentioned that he had supplies of his own. "Thank you, Blade. That's very sweet of you." She took the bun, intending to accept his kind gesture even though it turned out that they did have more food to share.
Once their shares had been distributed and eaten contentedly, Hitsu had taken note that they really didn't have much firewood to keep the fire going. "I'll gather a bit more firewood, I won't go far."
It wasn't until she was a little over ten feet away that Yuki had stood to stop her. No sooner than he'd opened his mouth he'd heard the snap of a twig... And his sister hadn't been the one to step on it.
Yuki felt his stomach lurch when he saw moving shadows within the trees, "Hitsu!"
She'd seen them too, and had little time to begin backing up. Though, as soon as she'd tried to turn around she felt a tight grip on one of her arms and she was roughly jerked back to be held against the chest of a gruff looking man. There were more of them, too. Their dark chuckles made her shiver in fear.

Had he heard Hitsu's offer a little sooner, he probably would have stopped her. And with Yuki's reaction, it became rather clear that the twig snapping was no harmless creature either. Catching sight of shadows all around, Blade quickly got onto his feet with his sword drawn.
He couldn't tell how many there were, but he could only assumed that they were outnumbered.
"Let her go," he demanded lowly while glaring at the one who had snatched Hitsu. His dark red eyes shifted here and there while trying to asset the situation exactly. He was also watching for any sudden movements in case someone tried to pull a fast one.

The leader laughed openly at Blade's demand, "Or what? You'll run me through?" He jerked his arm to one side, nearly pulling Hitsu full off her feet as he placed her directly in front of him. "Go ahead and try, boy, but you'll be going through her to get to me..."
They were indeed outnumbered, Yuki saw the shadows of men moving about around the one holding his sister. Five he'd counted aside from the leader, and Yuki wasn't sure if that was all.
Yuki was in a dangerous mixture between fear and anger. He was taking long, deep breaths. The ground around them almost felt as though it was vibrating lightly; the strangers seemed not to notice.
"If you hurt her..." Yuki growled hatefully, baring his teeth. Fists clenched so hard that his claws threatened to puncture his own palms.
"Hurt her? Hell no..." The leader replied, boldly and intentionally bringing up his free hand to stoke one of Hitsu's cheeks with the back of his fingers. "I'll have her screaming in ecstasy when I'm through with her."
Appalled and terrified by his words, Yuki clenched his jaw wordlessly. He stared at his sister, at the tears welling up in her eyes. She was too frightened to speak, and it seemed that now Yuki was too. Even though he tried to keep his wits about him, his eyes betrayed his fear.
"Just give us those supplies you have there," he gestured toward the bags near the fire, "And I might feel generous enough to give her back once I'm satisfied."

Figures they would be forest bandits. The response the leader had also made him sick to his stomach. Personally he wasn't that much of a step above these men, which didn't exactly make him feel all too proud either.
And now they were trying to rob them, "Fine."
Narrowing his eyes further he glanced down at their bags. His own was practically empty at this point. Slowly, he picked it up and turned towards the leader. His arm then dropped down as he was going to toss it, but in an instant, the bag was ablaze and was quickly hurling towards where there seemed to be two of the men.
Hoping that was enough as for a distraction he tried to duck away into the fog and shadows.... mentally apologizing to Yuki for the time being. While it may seem so, he had no plans of actually fleeing. He felt it would be more to their advantage if he wasn't trying to attack them head on, especially since they were outnumbered and had Hitsu in tow. If he was lucky, he'd be able to hide away to try and approach the leader... and hopefully Yuki could manage taking all the attention for the time being.
