Zakn felt horrible for the degradation he was sure his ever so proud lover would be feeling just now. He knew Kalan was proud, really proud... but he also knew there was nothing much that he could do to change their current situation.
He supposed it might have been possible to carry Kalan in his arms while they rode, but that would have slowed things up a good deal, and also raised the possibility of an accident should one of the riding lizards startle suddenly.. it was risky, and the cart was definitely the best idea. It meant that Kalan could rest as the trip was a long one, Zakn had tried to explain to him that it was a long way to go, but he was sure Kalan wouldn't really grasp quite how long it actually was.
They'd have to stop off at night of course, they'd need to rest the lizards, and consequently the tip would take longer than either of them wanted to.. maybe a full week if they had to go slowly during the day. He wasn't really sure how bad Kalan was likely to be. All he knew was that he'd take it as slowly has he had to, to make sure that his lover was comfortable while they travelled, and in as little pain as was even remotely possible.
While he stayed chipper and happy through most of the trip, Zakn was a little... worried, he had to admit. His place wasn't anything special... not really anyway. He was worried that Kalan wouldn't like it... he'd not had a chance to be there for a couple of years now, it had been a while since he'd been able to clean things up. It should be tidy at least, but dusty, grimy..? Who knew... he found himself worrying about it more and more the more he thought about it. He really didn't want to have anything that could distress Kalan there.
It wasn't a big place, it was enough for him and he had one guest room, but it was by no means large. It was built into the side of a cave, hidden away, not that he was paranoid. The cave provided a good shelter for any creatures that he'd happened to bring home with him, and it also provided a means to not have the door to his house instantly visible. The building had been hollowed out at his request... it was expensive, but he'd not really had that much to do with his money after he started working with his brother. H'ed figured he may as well have the place he'd really wanted, but his tastes had ended up more modest that he was expecting.
It was two floor high, unlike a lot of places, as he'd had someone with the necessary skills hollow out the solid stone for him. Downstairs had a large main room, with a separate side room which had a fissure that went up to the surface that allowed him to cook over a fire without smoking out his entire residence and a second side room that he had turned into a spare bedroom should he have more guests than expected, it did happen sometime. There was a flight of evenly carved stairs that went up to a carved out hall above, off of which branched a further three doors. His own large bedroom, a smaller second bedroom and a room which housed his bath.
It was furnished as well as he'd been able to over the years, though he'd had plans to do a whole lot more with the place... he had the funds to do it as well... maybe how he had Kalan here he could help..? They could set it up together maybe? He'd have to see what Kalan wanted to do however, and if he even liked it.
With a slightly worried look He led the cart into the cave and brought the creatures to a halt before moving away to unlock an push the door to his abode open. "Well... here we go Kalan.." he stated quietly, "This is... my house.. I mean, I hope you.. uh.. like it..." He'd help Kalan out if he needed it of course.

He had been wrong.. TO some degree at least.. The cart wasn't such a bad thing, though he was not about to go and admit that to his partner just yet. The worst part had been having to travel through the encampment where her had been treated and then through the city after they had stopped to collect his things from his barracks, finding his fellow raiders to be oddly sympathetic to a certain degree. He knew when he were better that there would be no end to the teasing he would receive.. But by that point he knew that he would be back to being able to beat them to a pulp for daring to say such things.. He allowed himself a grim little smirk at that thought.
No indeed.. The cart was better that he had thought, and Zakn had been right, it had allowed him to rest as much as he had needed. The painkillers and other potions that the healer had given his lover to dose him with did tend to make him feel rather drowsy at times, and sometimes feeling somewhat queasy, which was certainly not something that he should have enjoyed if he was attempting to ride on his own. He much preferred it when they were away from towns and other camps, his pride still did not really allow for him being seen by others being towed around like a decrepit invalid. But the journey had been long, much longer than he had expected and had allowed for him to enjoy the time to have Zakn'fryn to himself.
The further they travelled the more Kalan found himself wondering just where it was that his lover lived, the south? The east? It was confusing, and due to the amount of time he had spent sleeping and not easily being able to see where it was that they were going had disoriented him rather spectacularly. They were questions that he would ask when they arrived, however, he did not want to ask and then feel foolish as he saw an obvious landmark of a kind to tell him where about they were.
He sighed a little as they hit another little series of bumps, reaching out with his good arm to steady himself in his sitting position, the splinted arm reaching out to steady his sword and rather large bundle of items as they rattled and thought about trying to escape the dreaded cart. It jarred him and made his ribs in particular hurt, but there was very little that could be done about it, roads were roads, paths were paths and both were worn and developed tiresome little pot-holes.. He paid a little more attention as they came to a stop at last, Zakn shifting and leaving the cart.. It couldn't have been time to stop again already? It had not been nearly long enough to merit that! He opened his mouth to ask what it was that was going on when he heard a noise to the side, a latch was that?
"Zakn'fryn..?" He turned to look for the other male to find his partner approaching again, from a doorway was it? "Oh..? We're stopping or..?" He looked a little harder.. A few more gaps dotted here and there.. Windows? Ventilation? "Oh!" He started again, after Zakn spoke, holding his arms out to his lover. With both his legs fairly out of order, he would certainly need a hand.. Besides there was no one around to tease him for it! "My, it certainly doesn't give much away from the outside.." He smiled, "Besides, love.. If it is more than the single room that I have to call home, I can guarantee that I shall be impressed.. And to top it all off, it is your home, and I have never disliked anything of yours.. Well except perhaps this cart.." He offered him a reassuring little smile, demanding to be lifted.

Zakn stepped back over to the cart with a smile on his face. Goddess his lover sure knew how to complain about something when it displeased him. He didn't think he'd ever be able to forget how much Kalan disliked that cart.. he had known it would be the case though. Kalan had enough pride for anyone, and that would never work well when you were trying to talk the individual into letting you wheel them around.
Then again it was better than making your badly wounded lover walk... better to allow them to heal and damage their pride than risk damaging their body any more after all.
"It was built to be hidden.." Zakn stated quietly as he pulled Kalan up into his arms, holding him against him for the moment. "It's somewhere I can go when I don't want to be found by anyone for anything.. Nath knows where it is of course, but he doesn't come bother me here.." He leant his head forward to kiss Kalans forehead. "I like it however.. it's not really as tidy, or as lived in and comfortable as it could be.. but it's always only been me that was here... but.. you and I, we can make something of it okay..?" He really wished he knew how he was going to be able to explain things properly to Kalan.. but it was still so difficult!
How did you tell your male lover that he was going to have to have a child..? He had no idea... It just wasn't one of those conversations you expected to have.
With a small smile he stepped over to the door which he'd unlocked and nudged it open, stepping into the rocky darkness with Kalan. It didn't take him long to move his lover over to a cushioned seat and set him down on it. "I'll go and bring the things from the cart and lizards.. you just rest up there until you feel ready to have a look around..." He smiled.. "You can go anywhere you like.. it's your home now as well, after all.." He moved around the room, muttering quietly, one of the few spells he knew, and igniting some blue flames in some lanterns to light the place. Their vision was good, but the dark in the house was thick and velvet.
Once that was done he stepped away, smiling at Kalan again before moving out to the cart to stable the lizards in the two of the stalls he had here, and start moving things in from the cart. It was going to be nice to have Kalan here... he'd never had anyone to share his home with before.

Posted 25/06/09 The sour look that the warrior had been wearing was soon washed away when he realised that he would be free of the cursed cart. Bye bye degrading travel! He managed a broader smile as he was oh so carefully lifted from the thing by his lover, so pleased that he did not think to try and grab his bundle of belongings on his way up. Nope, this was the good life, now! With a content sigh he nuzzled his head onto the other males shoulder then pressed his face to the others neck, his injured arm cradled to his chest while the other curled swiftly up Zakn's back to hook his fingers over his shoulder.
"Hmm.. Built to be hidden.. I do rather like the sound of that.. A semi-secret place to lie low on a dirty-weekend away.." He half teased.. The idea sounded pretty good actually.. First they'd have to find time to take the short break in their very busy schedules. "Hmm, and make something of it..?" He smiled. He.. Really liked that.. The idea of sharing something like a home with his lover, even if they would not have the time to stay often.. He'd have to make good use of the time he had with Zakn while he was healing up, in which case. "When we can find the time to be here, love.. And when I feel more up to it, I'm fairly confident that I'll be able to make the place more hospitable." He couldn't help teasing him just a little, leaning up to press a small kiss to the corner of the other males jaw, "From what you've told me I'm more than willing to make space to organise your many strange belongings that don't seem to have a proper place.. That is, not somewhere on the floor to be tripped over by your broken lover." He pulled his lips up into the first grin he had managed since that horrid trip to the surface, curling his fingers into the fabric of Zakns shirt as he carried him into the comforting darkness of the house..
He hoped that his lover knew where he was going, if it was true that he hadn't been here in so long.. Also that he wasn't going to trip over something long forgotten about on the floor. Sure he'd never been to stay with Zakn when they were on duty.. He could see why.. From what he had heard about the living conditions of the streekah the activities they got up to at night.. Well.. His cheeks flushed a little at the mere thought.. Well the point was that he probably didn't keep much if anything with him in the barracks so most of his idea of what Zakn would be like with his mess were purely from memory.. And the times that Zakn had stayed with him in his quarters.. The drow had strewn clothes everywhere.. Though in defense, at the time neither of them had really cared.
He hummed just a little in amusement as the other leaned down and settled him down onto something pretty comfortable.. The place did smell.. Well it wasn't musty, but it smelled like it hadn't been inhabited for a long time. It didn't smell of life, just yet. "Well, how-" He started, to be cut off again as he blinked rapidly for a while to adjust to the change in light. It wasn't glaring, but different, and his eyes hadn't recovered properly just yet, glinting their horrid, dirty yellow in the soft light. He had been about to ask exactly how Zakn had expected him to explore the house with both his legs broken in more than a little bit of a bitter tone when it had struck him that his lover really was just trying to do the best he could for him. Instead he eased himself a little further back into the chair with a gentle expression, "I shall in time, love.. I'm.. Well, Very interesting in how the place is set out." He mused with a nod in response to their things being brought inside and the lizards stabled, "Have you heard anything about Teggs yet?" He called after him as an afterthought, suddenly recalling his prized lizard left goodness knows where.
Which then left him alone in the.. Well, a living room of a sorts? The place was indeed sparsely furnished and decorated, but it was livable, as Zakn had said, comfortable enough. He hoped that the bed would be as comfortable.. And actually that it was large enough to fit them both in.. If it was large enough.. Just how many others had his beloved brought back to this place? His lip curled and mood darkened at the thought.. Horrible things.. That mattress would have to go for starters..

"I've had your lizard stabled... I saw no easy way to bring it with us just now, but I'll journey out myself in a few days to return a few more of my own blongings here, as well as your mount and anything else you may wish for..." He spoke intermittantly between heading in and out, and back in again, fetching and carying and while he was in moving and occasinally brushing his hand over the odd surface to absently and very inefectively remove the layer of rock dust that had formed. His house wasn't a mess, but he certainly seemed to have had no reason to be house proud.
"It's only ever been me here..." Zakn' stated as he returned to the room from one of his trips up the stairs. "I've... not spent a great deal of time here myself, and I can't say I really ever had a reason to bring anyone else here... I usually come here to hide, so.. showing people where to find me would be a little silly, huh..?" He grinned. "I think my mother stayed here for a time some years back... and my Brother once... but them aside, and myself of course... you are the only soul in this dark place to know of my hide away..." He moved over to Kalan and finally settled himself beside him, reaching out a hand for one of his lovers. "I can't offer you much more just now... but if I could I would give you everything... you know that right...?"
The larger drow knew that the time they could find to be here would be sooner than Kalan expected.... that was never going to be an easy thing to explain... but if it was that or just have him find out on his own... a slightly pained look flittered across Zakn's features. "You do like the way this place looks though, yes...? Because... well... it is fairly important that you could be comfortable here because... I think we're gonna need to be here for quite a while... out here in the middle of nowhere, out of harms way... I... I do need to tell you something Kalan.. about you.. about us... about... about something.. and... I don't really know how to say it, and I'm pretty sure you're going to hit me when I do... and.. well..." He sighed, shaking his head slightly...
Why did this have to be so hard...?
"The healer told me you... that..." He paused again. "There's a baby Kalan. It's not possible.. and I know you'll say that.. but the healer said it happened. It's Lloth's work... I have heard of it happening before and... it appears that she thought you the one that should be responcible for the... creation of this next blessed child of hers..." He fell silent... "Uhm.. yeah..." Words weren't gonna happen for a while now... he was sort of waiting for something slightly more painful to come his way as well...

Kalan was quite content to stay put and watch his lover go to and fro around the small house, reclining comfortably, his hands clasped together and resting over his stomach, one of the few places that wasn't hurting for the time being. He smiled, watching Zakn occasionally stop to fuss over a dirty surface or suffer a momentary distraction to touch come and touch his hair. It was lovely. He'd never seen the other so relaxed in one place before.. Well, as relaxed as he could be when he was s concerned over what was thought of the place and whether he had taken the right actions bringing him here.. And well, he was generally relaxed during the aftermath of their encounters between the sheets, but that did not count so much at the moment..
"Ah! I should be honoured then, love. Being the first person not from your own family to grace these walls." He mused aloud as Zakn passed him once again, probably sounding a little more relived than he should have. It felt absurd to be jealous of his lovers past conquests when it was th here and now that mattered the most, especially when he had been so vividly reminded of his own mortality so recently. "Again, Zakn.. You don't need to worry yourself.. Though I have only seen this one room, from what I have heard, I am sure that I will be happy here. It is a good size for us.. Remembering that I have been living in but one room for such a long period of time." He smiled gently, immediately snuggling himself up against the larger male when he stopped his fussing and settled beside him, giving him his good hand after he had manoeuvred closer. "I took everything that I needed, love.. I can't think of anything I desperately require, though you are welcome to see if I have left anything important." He replied at long last to the earlier question..
Zakn was being.. Odd.. Quiet but then the little bursts of conversation when he had settled.. He was nervous again? The house? "Zakn..?" He started quietly, his lovers tone making him nervous as he tensed, "What is it..?" Had he crossed some unspoken line? His ears perked up then drooped back down again shifting to give the large male a worried little look. "The healer.. Told you.. What?" He gave the male an incredulous sort of look.. A baby? Well it made sense now that Zakn was fussing so much over the house and why his opinion was so important. "But.. Why did she not tell me?" He managed with a slight waver to his voice, "Love, was she winding you up? Did you offend her?" He didn't know what to think, honestly. It was quite a terrifying prospect. He was male.. He wasn't cut out for this, was he? His breathing quickened somewhat and he gripped Zakns hand all the more tightly, "Zakn, don't leave me!" He all but whimpered. Was he ready for this? The goddess herself seemed to think so.. Had they really been that worthy? He wanted to climb into his lovers lap and curl up to sleep.. It did feel like some bizarre sort of dream. "I don't understand.. How.. With the accident.." He eventually managed quietly. "What are we going to do?"

What are we going to do...? That was really the question of the ages wasn’t it. What were they going to do...? He needed to speak, he knew he needed to give Kalan some form of answer... but that was easier said than done just now. He’d been dreading this moment since he’d found out, not because of the baby, but because of the reaction he’d been expecting. Admittedly now, Kalan hadn’t reacted anywhere near to as badly as he’d been pretty well expecting, but that didn’t really make things that much easier for him. He still wasn’t sure what to say... Kalan had asked so many things.. at least that was what it felt like, and he wasn’t sure he was cut out to answer him. Was he even cut out to do this himself..?
Don’t leave me.
What was he even thinking like that for...? He shouldn’t be letting himself worry. Kalan needed him, Kalan loved him, Kalan wanted to be with him and he knew that. He loved Kalan, wanted, and needed him... that was all there was to it at the end of the day, what else was there that needed to be thought about? They had a baby, they had each other. They had a home they had their faith... They’d be fine.
“We’ll be fine... that’s what we’ll do Kalan... we’ll be fine...” The larger man tightened his arms around the smaller drow for a moment. “I’m... certain she wasn’t teasing me, this is real, I am as positive about it as I am that I love you... and will continue to love you and this... miracle child... I can’t really understand it, I have to say... but...I believe that it is here with us for a reason.” He lifted a hand and very gently stroked Kalan’s hair. “You’ve got me, I’m not gonna go anywhere...” He’d probably not even go far if Kalan actually ordered him out of his life...
“We’re going to be fine Kalan... you and I... and... the three of us... we’re going to be just fine...”

He couldn't stop his mind from racing down all sorts of unpleasant tangents while Zakn took a moment to collect his thoughts. What in hell where they going to do? They did not have forgiving lines of work in the slightest.. Could he do this?
He shook himself from his troubled thoughts as his lover stroked his fingers through his short hair, he was speaking and he should listen to the verdict he was going to give him.. What was the game plan to be? He turned troubled, fearful eyes up to his partner, listening quietly. We'll be fine.. Not going anywhere.. The three of them.. He knew just what to say to soothe him, one of the many reasons he loved the other male, as inarticulate as he could be at times, he came through when it mattered, when he needed to hear the right things and when he needed a reassuring touch.
"I don't.. I don't know what to say.. What do do, Zakn.." He managed after a long pause, his voice wavering with uncertainty. "But so long as I have you.. You promise you'll stay?" He tightened his grip on the other males shirt, pressing his cheek to Zakns shoulder, "We'll be okay here, together? I.." He shook his head, "I couldn't do this without you.. Physically.. Emotionally, now.. I'm sorry to become such a burden." He was aware he was rambling a little.. He couldn't really help himself.. "Will you help me.." Again the tremble to his voice and body, "To find out what to expect?"

"If I planned to leave you I would have left by now Kalan." Zakn' stated, his tone fairly gentle as he was pretty certain by this point that his lover was... more than a little highly strung, and he needed to make sure that nothing he said could be misunderstood. He needed to be fairly careful just now as far as it went. It would be okay... they could handle this, and if he just kept up his belief in himself he was sure it'd go okay.
"I've known about the child for... a while, as I said, the healer told me, so I've had plenty of time to run if I'd had the mind to do so... but I didn't, did I...? I'm still here, and I've told you, and now we're just going to carry on as before. This... doesn't change thing's as much as you might think. We'll still live here, I'll just have to work a little harder with getting it all fixed up for us.." He leant down to press a kiss to Kalan's neck. "I'm sure you'll still be able to help me when you're better, you're a tough little thing after all.." he tightened his arms slightly, a smile tugging at his lips. Sure he was worried about Kalan, but it was good that they both knew now... really, very good.
"We'll get it sorted... when you're a little better and more settled I'll go and find a healer to come and talk to you, she'll be able to help I'm sure... so there's no need to fret." He lifted a hand to stroke Kalan's hair again. "Just... try to stay calm I guess..? Just relax. We'll get it handled, I swear it..." His tone took on a slightly excited note. "Besides... I get to be a dad.. never thought that'd happen.." He could see a very good side to this now that his worries about actually telling Kalan were passing.

The smaller male made a relieved noise somewhere between a sigh and a sob. He'd just a roller-coaster of thoughts and emotions in the space of a few seconds and it was.. Frustratingly exhausting, topping it off with his damaged limbs starting to ache in protest of his movements to hold onto his lover. But Zakn had assured him that nothing was going to go wrong.. He was going to be there for him, he had pretty much covered all the bases of worry and doubt.
He rubbed his face all the more against the broader males shoulder and gently gave him a thump and another sob, "Damn you, Zakn.. You've left me nothing to get worked up about and bawl over!" He laughed shortly after of course, his eyes only a little shinier than usual, rubbing his hand over where he had thumped his other half, "You're just far too good at tying off all those loose lines of worry.. I can't imagine where I'd be without you you know." He leaned heavily against the other male, feeling a little drained but relieved all at the same time, the worried tension seeping out of his limbs with every little touch and gentle word from my lover, managing a little more of a smile as Zakn semi-stroked his badly bruised ego.
Sure he was still nervous about what was to come, but Zakn was right through and through.. There was no need to panic, certainly not yet. They had time on their side for now, and it would be senseless to waste his energy on anything but healing up and becoming more independent once more. "Of course I'll help.." He peered up, finding himself looking mostly at Zakn's cheek with a bit of a frown, "You'll rue the day someone thought up crutches, as soon as I feel able I'll be up and about, I can promise that.. Heh.." He turned a little more to rest his chin against Zakn, "You know.. Suddenly it makes a lot more sense.. You're saying about us going away from a long while.." He lips quirked into a bit of a smile, "With.. Our child.. Hmm.. It must have been hard not saying anything if you were looking forward to it as much as I think you secretly are.."

"Well... I've not really had much of a chance to get excited. I'd been more worried about how I was actually going to manage to tell you without it coming out a garbled mess of nonsense. I mean.. I think I've managed okay in the long run, but it could have gone so much worse..." He smiled slightly giving his injured lover a little squeeze. He was so pleased that Kalan seemed to be feeling a little better. Th "Of course I'm excited though, we're having a kid... a baby, it's gonna be amazing!" He pulled a grin onto his face again, not having to struggle in the slightest. He was happy, really genuinely happy with how things had played out. It wasn't exactly the way he'd have had things happen if he could have changed it, it would have been better if Kalan had been healthy for one thing, if he wasn't injured, but at least they were both alive. Sure he'd come very close to losing the lovely young male that he was here with him now, but he hadn't lost him, and that was all that really, really mattered.
Zakn was well aware that over the next few days he was going to have to do a lot of work to get things ship shape in this house for them both, Kalan wasn't exactly a neat freak, but he was fairly certain that his lover would want things to be nice, neat and tidy and not all over the place, and certainly not covered in dust... as far as it went he wasn't the biggest fan of cleaning, but for Kalan.. well, it'd be worth it.
For the time being he'd made up a nice bed on the large seat downstairs for he and Kalan to use. It was a large enough pile of cushions and pillows that sleeping on it wouldn't be a problem. It also meant that Kalan would be able to move around and get to the kitchen and the bathroom easily enough without having to rely on him too greatly, he really didn't want to bruise his lovers ego any more. Of course one trip to town had to be made, and Zakn would have been insistent on doing that alone, he needed to pick up food, and of course Teggs... Kalan wouldn't want to be without his lizard for too long he was sure.
When he'd gotten back from that however he'd set to work on the house as swiftly and thoroughly as he could. He'd started clearing it out, getting rid of really old and dusty things that he didn't need, and had started to make sure that the dust didn't get a chance to take control too greatly once again. He tried to make sure he paid a good deal of attention to Kalan while he worked, and certainly didn't tell him he couldn't help with things on the lower levels.

"Amazing, huh? Well.. I'm certainly sure it's going to be quite something." The small male mused quietly, happily settled against his partner. The next few months were going to be interesting indeed.. He wasn't so worried about it all now however.. He had Zakn and he made him feel safe, secure and cared for.. They had a home and everything was going to be alright.
He'd almost been disappointed that he hadn't been allowed upstairs to sleep in a proper bed, until Zakn had simply lifted him and settled him on the makeshift pile in their living space. He wasn't sure he'd really appreciate a real bed after that, and at times he felt he'd rather stay put that try and get up to help clean the house up. He still did this and that, though when he was up and about he often felt his lovers watchful eye on him, but he behaved and didn't over-exert himself. The first semi-lecture about how he couldn't only think of himself now was enough, he did really fancy subjecting himself to another one of those.. Not just to save face, but he didn't want to worry the larger male as much as he had that one time.. Of course that didn't mean that he was going to be saintly.. When he had found out that Zakn was leaving the house for a whole day to bring in supplies and collect his lizard he resolved that he simply had to carefully hobble his way upstairs and just see what was going on up there. Aside from the dust, he had enjoyed it.. It was no mansion but the rooms ere of a decent enough size and would suit them down to the ground. The beds weren't even to bad either he had found out, resting on one briefly before he tried to descend back to their nest in the living room to finish what he had been picking over for his breakfast. The dust really had been rahter thick p there, but he had noted that it had been cleared in places and items being aired up there.. Zakn had obviously been spending time when he could up there making his preparations which had made him smile considerably. It made it seem less far off, being able to have the run of the whole house.
He'd been asleep when Zakn had returned. His trip, though enjoyable had made him ache, so sleeping and a draft of the painkillers the healer had given him was definitely in order.. He had been terribly amused to wake up finding Zakn creeping around him.. "You better have brought me something wonderful back to make up for my boredom, slave." He smiled with a slightly groggy stretch. He felt a lot better and now a lot hungrier. He hadn't wanted much the past mornings with how queasy he had been feeling and since his trip upstairs he had been a little too tired to go and find himself something else to eat. If Zakn was back it must have been well into the evening by now. And he hadn't even done much more tidying to help out. The air was a little dusty, evidently Zakn had got stuck straight back in to cleaning out the place. "If you find anything that needs mending.." He offered.. He'd salvaged a fair few sheets already, there seemed little sense in wasting good linen thanks to one tatty edge.

"I brought myself back? Isn't that enough...?" Zakn's tone was light hearted as he turned, realising that his lover was awake. "Though I suppose I brought Teggs back with me as well, that might make you smile..." He honestly expected Kalan to scramble up and head off out to the stables to go and see the creature, he'd been without it for quite some time now, and he was certain the smaller male would be very happy to have his companion back. Well, maybe at least ask him for help getting outside.
He shook his head, the trip hadn't been so bad really, Teggs wasn't a bad travelling partner for what it was worth. Quiet, mostly, and not too messy either. He didn't mind. It was company. He was happy to be home however. He threw the cloth he'd been using to dust and bounded down the stairs again, he'd been talking from the top floor.
"I'd noticed you'd been stitching things, I was just going to get ride of them honestly, so that's real helpful..." He grinned, a rather pleased expression. "I'll make sure to pass anything else I've managed to make holes in over to you, my fingers aren't really dexterous enough for sewing... I'm more the sword wielding battering type... with big hand.." He chuckled very quietly. "You want me to help you out to see Teggs...? I'm sure he'd love to see you... though there will be a price of course..." He couldn't help but smile again.
