I've been having some majorly weird dreams lately, so I'm gonna try and record them on here for future reference. Feel free to comment on them or discuss or whatever. One in bold is always the most recent.
16th/17th May 2009
DURATION OF SLEEP: 18 hours. CHRONOLOGY: Unknown.
[This dream had two main storylines, which though related, I am treating seperately due to not knowing the exact chronology]
STORYLINE ONE:
I am a genderless, Batman-esque superhero in a near-future metropolis consisting of a central city surrounded by many suburbs. After several fairly unnotable occurrences of rocket-jetting around and saving people/defeating criminals, I happen upon some sort of conspiracy involving a major corporation in the region.
After thorough investigation, I infiltrate the corporation's headquarters only to learn that its leader, a blonde woman perhaps in her fifties who I unfamiliar with, is in fact my mother. I also learn that the corporation plans to destroy most of the world, turning buildings to ash in a rain of fire that will render all but a few select installations built by the corporation uninhabitable. After considerable soul-searching, I side with the corporation and aid the destruction of the world.
Some time after, I work my way down the headquarters' tower to the lower levels, fighting off mutated civilians and small mercenary groups trying to break in as I go along until I leave. The scenario ends with me standing on a highway bridge, looking down on my handiwork, a desert wasteland with almost no signs of visible life.
STORYLINE TWO:
I am a child, again of indeterminate gender, about to embark on some sort of religious ceremony. I travel through an abandoned facility of some sort, experiencing much surreal and paranormal phenomena such as space dilating and compressing spontaneously. Eventually, after travelling through this place, I reach what seems like an abandoned theatre. I climb upon the stage and suddenly collapse after standing on a strange symbol. I begin to live my entire life over again, or perhaps a past or future life. I strongly suspect this is where storyline two occurs.
I awake with a start standing in a suburb, in a lane with my friends [whom I do not know in real life] calling me over. I run over to them and relate the curious nature of my experience. They express some interest, but do not wish to get involved with a religion their family may not approve of. Nevertheless, we all travel to the facility which is currently being attended to by monks of some sort. After learning we do not have the appropriate papers, they turn us away. Later that evening, we sneak in and are discovered part-way through a hall of mirrors by monks who seem to be ethereal in form. They accost us for our disrespect, and the scenario slowly fades to black.
