AIM LOG: demonstrationevil & _ p a o cx Tarik had once again taken to walking as opposed to flying, choosing to enjoy the scenery as opposed to simply going over it like he normally would have. Simply glancing around made the deity snort, though, since there was virtually nothing to...enjoy around here. It was something he'd noticed as soon as he landed, but for some reason he convinced himself to keep on walking, saying he'd run into something interesting along the way.
"Stupid.." he muttered as he went. Tarik was in his usual guise - a plain white lion with pale blue eyes. It was simple and didn't require much thinking to create, which he liked. "Scenery? What the heck was I thinking?" And he trudged on, mind wandering from one pleasant thing he could be doing to the next, and his mood taking a turn for the worst the more he thought about it.Xinavane was also out enjoying the scenery. She had done everything that really needed to be done that day anyway. She had made sure that the pride had enough food, hunted for a little extra, watched over her apprenicses to make sure they knew what they were doing, checked in with their leader, and then looked after her own children to make sure they were feeding themselves properly. They could be so careless sometimes...
So now she was taking a little break and looking out over the scenery around the pride. It looked so pretty when she actually had a moment to spare and look at it... and soon she wouldn't have a moment anymore. There were still several cubs in the pride that needed looking after, and her leader would starve herself working if Xinavane didn't practically force-feed her on occasion... too much work to do. And she loved every second of it. Making the pride do everything it was supposed to, and function normally always put her in a good mood. A tired one, but a good one.
Her life had gone, really, exactly as planned.Tarik lifted his gaze every now and again, his mood steadily worsening. He was just about ready to give in and fly back up to the haven, but out of the corner of his eye he noticed a black speck that didn't seem fit in with the surrounding. Narrowing his eyes, the adolescent changed direction and headed over to whatever it was, friendly or otherwise. He wanted some conversation, whether it was an exchange of insults or nothing more than small talk - he needed something to do.
"Hello there," he called, tilting his head when he noticed that it was a lioness. She looked as though she was simply out to relax, much like how his own little walk had started. The main difference was, however, that she looked like she was enjoying herself while he was.....not.Xinavane heard a voice and glanced towards it. Even though she was almost instantly put on her guard, she stopped as soon as she saw the lion who had spoken to her. He was white, and she knew for a fact that demons would rather die than let a white lion be any more than a slave in their ranks. So she relaxed against almost instantly. She supposed that they could have sent a slave to trick her... but then he wouldn't have looked in such good health.
"Hello there." She nodded in return, getting up and approaching him in a friendly way, "What brings you all the way out here stranger?" Perhaps he had heard of the pride and come to join them? Or perhaps he was just passing through and didn't know about the demons, in which case she would have to make a poing of warning him. She didn't want anyone getting hurt by accidently heading into enemy territory."Just on a walk, I guess," he said, sounding pleasant enough. Strange that she hadn't tensed when he approached, but he brushed that thought aside and was just grateful for the fact that he had managed to find company. She sounded nice too, which made it that much better. "I'm not too familiar with this area though, so I can't tell if I've been moving in a circle or actually going forward." At that he took a seat.
"What about you?" he asked, looking past her to see if she had company or not. Maybe she was from a nearby pride that he'd never heard of or something. "Out on a walk too?"

"Yes, I'm out for a walk as well. Relaxing after a busy day." Xinavane admitted, taking a seat beside him, glad for the company. "And yes, I'm from the pride around here. We're the demon hunters... and if you've been walking in circles, be glad for it. You could have easily walked in on the demon by accident... they don't live far from here. We do our best to make sure they stay in place." She admitted, not afraid of letting him know that.
"You should be especially careful sir... with a nice white pelt like that, they'd surely attack you." She warned him, glad that she had happened upon him first, "Oh... and how rude of me. I warn you about the dangers of the area, but I didn't tell you my name. I'm Xinavane." She said, feeling a little bad about that. It would have been nicer for some small-talk before she launched into her 'beware for danger lies ahead' speech.
The idea of a busy day was new for Tarik, since his days were usually filled with walking, resting, flying, resting.. and then walking some more. A lot of mortals he met seemed to have a similar lifestyle too, strangely enough. He would've asked what made her day so busy had she not mentioned the demon pride that he'd heard so much about from another female not too long ago. Tarik had heard of the demon hunters before from the same female, but from the looks of it they were nothing as she described.
At her introduction he smiled slightly. "I'm Tarik, and thank you for the warning. I know of that pride, actually. I had a run-in with one of theirs a while ago." He stated it as though it were nothing big, forgetting to mention that he had been seen without his disguise. "We had a short chat and then I was off.. strange girl, that one." The memory was something of a blurr to him, which was fine since he hadn't been interested in a lot of what she said.
Xinavane blinked, "You met one of those demons and they didn't try to kill or enslave you?" She smiled a little and laughed, "You must be tougher than you look. No offence..." She said, realizing that was probably... not the nicest thing to say. "Sorry. I didn't mean it like that. It's just that I've met a few of the demons and they are... not pleasent. And they threaten my way of life..." She heaved a sigh. "I am... not a fan of theirs."
She looked back at him, "It's a pleasure to meet you anyway, Tarik. I hope you find saftey in these lands at least... Perhaps you won't find us as strange." Though if he only quialified demons as 'strange' then who knew what else he thought was weird? "I'm sorry... but... I would not go to the demon pride again, were I you. They don't like those with white pelts. You met one who was... friendlier, I suppose, than others... but most are not like that. They could try and kill you."
He shook his head, trying to think back on it. She'd approached him with something of a smile and then prompted to inform him all there was to know about her pride and the area around it, he spent the night and was gone by morning. "No, no killing or enslaving," he replied with a sure nod. "She laughed a lot actually, so I didn't really have to look or act tough." The adolescent gave a chuckle. "But none taken. I might've been lucky to have run into Mear'ksh though, if you say that the members of that pride that you've met aren't as pleasant."
Tarik smiled and nodded at her welcome to the lands. "No, I don't normally say others are strange. Just.. I don't know how else to describe her." He shrugged, ready to drop the subject until she mentioned his white pelt. "Oh!" he said with a smile and perhaps dropped his guard just a tad too much. "I don't normally have a white pelt. It's usually blue with only bits of white."
Xinavane blinked and tilted her head, now thinking that he was a little strange. "Really? A laughing demon? Who would have thought. Maybe she was planning on luring you in." She couldn't really bring herself to trust demonds, even if this lion had had what seemed like a... fairly positive experience with them. He didn't really trust that kind of thing. "Yes... perhaps she was one of the few better ones. It does happen from tome to time, I've heard."
She tilted her head a little, "Blue and white?" She laughed a little, "And how do you go about doing that? Can you just change your colors at will?" She tiilted her head, a little curious. Who knew? Maybe this lion was just insane. But he seemed awfully pleasent for someone who had lost their mind. "Perhaps you can teach me to change my pelt color while you're at it."

His expression went from lax to confused to worried. It was only then that he realized that he might have said a little too much, and being the prideful lion that he was he couldn't just let her think that he was insane. "Ah, I went a little too far," he sighed, then slowly let his disguise fade away to reveal his true appearance. Now he sat about a head taller than her, with wings folded on either side of his back, and the blue and white pelt that he'd mentioned only moments ago.
"So yes, blue and white as you can see." Tarik shrugged and spread his wings for a moment, resulting in a bit of a cold breeze as he stretched them out. "And.. larger than most normal lions, so maybe that's why she acted that way." This wasn't exactly planned, so his cheery mood from a few moments ago was almost gone now. It'd been replaced with a sort of bored look, since he expected Xinavane to have more than a few questions for him to answer. Not that he would.. but it'd be annoying to listen either way.
As opposed to asking qustions, Xinavane's expression went from amused, to well... annoyed. "Oh no. Not another one." She hung her head, grumbling, "Every time I think I forget about you all I meet another one... No wonder the demons all ignored you... they wanted you on their side." She mumbled under her breath. "So, do you want me to bow and scrape and act all humble now that I've seen your true form, or what?" She asked, tilting her head and observing him.
"I can't believe you're another God... or whatever you are." She had never really believed in Gods. Maybe that was why they kept showing up around her. She had thought that after Zuru maybe, maybe they would leave her alone. But no, the mystical beings that called themselves Gods just kept on showing up. Again... and again... and again... "Did Zuru tell you I was here? I can't imagine why... maybe Mr. Clouds did. He always had a nasty sense of humor..."
Her reaction was...unexpected, but it did bring back his smile. Seems she was familiar with gods, which was a good thing to him - the questions wouldn't come. Tarik laughed lightly and shook his head at her question. "No, nothing of that sort. I only showed you because I didn't want you to think that I was crazy after what I said." With his next shrug he pulled his disguise back on, and he was once again sitting just a tad shorter than the lioness, white pelt and all.
"Perhaps you're right, but I've no intention of joining any pride. Also, I don't know any Zuru or 'Mr. Clouds'. I really was just happening across."
Xinavane blinked a little as he went back under a disguise. He was the first God he had meant to be so modest. mr. Clouds had never seemed to care, Zuru had rather... openly abused his God status, and been content to brag about it as he liked. She had liked his arrogance though, because he had at least been willing to cede that he did owe her big time. She hadn't exctly saved his life... but she had helped him to say the least. Still, Tarik was different than the other two. A nice change, she supposed.
"Oh... well..." Xinavane said, blinking in suprise. "Good for you, not sucumbing to peer pressure then I guess. And Zururuka was... well, he's the God of Wanderlust, and Mr. Clouds... I never got his name. He was the God of Clouds though." She explained, feeling rude again. "I suppose... I've never much believed in Gods. Powerful beings sure... but not Gods. Sorry. I just..." She shrugged, still defiant in that aspect, even though there was one right in front of her. "I don't buy into it, is all."
"We're not for everyone, I guess," he answered, not really thinking about it. He was neither a fan of mortals of gods, but rather he tolerated both in that he'd be bored out of his mind without them. He saw both as a way to keep him awake, else he'd be sleeping most days away. Amusement, in a sense, but he wouldn't say that to this particular lioness. Though her nicer mood from earlier had changed so quickly when he removed his disguise, he still didn't want to offend her. She'd been pleasant enough at the start of their conversation.
"In any case, don't worry about it. In some ways I'm glad you don't 'buy into it' as you said. No questions for me to answer and all that." Tarik grinned, then stood up. "On that note I think I'll take my leave. Would you mind pointing me in the right direction so as to avoid that demon pride?"

Xinavane smiled a little, rather liking the "god". He was awfully honest, and you didn't get that all that often when you thought about it. But he was nice, funny. If she had believed in Gods, she would have liked him to be one. He was way funnier than the self-indulgent ones she had met before. Well... except Zuru she supposed. She had always rather liked Zuru. "Yeah... you're a good guy though. I won't hold it against you." She mentioned.
"I'm glad you're glad. Was worried I'd offend you and you'd 'smite' me. But I don't lie about stuff I don't believe in." She told him, grinning at him. "You go over that way, west. East and you'll walk right into them." She warned him, shaking her head, hiding a grin. "Not that you have to worry about that I guess. But hey, you're a good guy. You can come back, if you like. I carry some weight in this pride. You need a place to stay, you talk to me." She nodded her head towards him, turning and heading back home herself, "See you around."
She seemed more sincere that Mear'ksh had been when they spoke, which made Tarik rather comfortable around her. A different comfortable, as in less tolerant and more like he actually enjoyed her company. "Thanks," he replied to her compliments, then shifted his gaze westward and nodded, taking it to memory and hoping he didn't have to resort to flying to find shelter before nightfall. He just.. really wasn't up for it. So he started off with a nod. "You might," he said with a grin, then walked off in the direction she'd pointed him in.
