This will be a Private Roleplay between The Detective Prince [Emilia], Kanove [Reese], and possibly ladyumbra [Eli].
Setting: The Clinic in which Doctor Chandler works, and, of course, works. Time: Early-Evening; the air outside is warming up. Weather: The early morning chill is just now wavering, allowing the warmth of Summer to slowly set in. It is easily, however, still sweater-worthy weather.

What was it her Doctor had once recommended? It certainly couldn't have been very long after the surgeries, or, well.. the recovery, or even the accident itself, she supposed. Emilia could recall his voice, fraught with some sort of emotion, which the girl of then eighteen had decided was worry. "Keep in shape," he'd said; oh, and, "Go to the doctor often, no matter where you live." It was easy for him to talk about that sort of thing. He was a doctor, were he sick, all he had to do, was, well.. look at himself! She, well, she'd have to go out, and find one, and subject herself to some sort of examination. It was nothing that Emilia would have done of her own free will, but now, after four years of doing little to retain her once lithe shape, or to visit doctors in regards to her "disability", Emilia received a startling wake up call.
She was never one to heed warning, or perhaps even the most rudimentary common sense. In truth, ever since the loss of her right arm, Emilia had had quite a hard time aligning herself with the common idea of normal. As such, she'd found herself sitting inside of the small, single-person shower of her apartment. Fully-clothed, with eyes dead-locked on the drain, she stared at the small black frame that crawled along the slippery-smooth flooring of the shower. A bug, certainly something akin to a Waterbug. Any apartment complex was often victim to their own vast population, who brought all sorts of disgusting little critters with them.
No, she found herself wondering things. Emilia had become an almost philosophical sort of women. She'd watched a number of bugs climb down her drains before - but it never failed to amaze her..
What could be so damn amazing about a pipe? Early in the morning, she'd suddenly leaned forward, bearing much of her weight against her remaining arm and hand, which wasn't exactly stable against the wet flooring of the shower. As the shiny black insect began to descend into the foreign depths of her piping system, Emilia allowed her body to fall even further off balance, as she attempted to peak down the drain. Inch after inch, she pushed herself forward, trapping a thin lower lip beneath a straight row of perfectly white little teeth.
"Tell.. me.. your.. secre-- woahh!"
Crash, bang, boom! - It was like out of a Saturday morning cartoon. Emilia found herself positioned awkwardly in the tub, one foot above her head, droplets of water from her shower earlier that morning seeping into the striped cotton of her blouse. Pain wracked a narrow shoulder, and she was certain that she'd twisted her wrist oddly, and likely sprained it. However, what was most depressing to her was the fact she'd lost the Waterbug, and it had dropped into it's foreign, and certainly amazing world. After all, who would go into a dark pipe unless it was amazing?
And this incident was how Emelia grudgingly recalled her old doctor's words. For one, her wrist hurt quite a bit, and a doctor's visit would be necessary. More than likely, a check-up was in order, too; whereupon the foreign doctor would scold her like a child for falling out of shape, and losing the muscle tone that had formerly made her legs as dangerous as baseball bats. Well, maybe not quite..
Steps were slow, and head hung low. She'd made no attempt to change clothing, and in fact, the only alteration in her appearance was the fact that she now wore shoes.. although socks remained unseen. The water that had saturated the lower corner of her shirt left the left side of her abdomen slightly exposed, and as Emelia used her wrist to nudge the door of the clinic open, in preference of her aching wrist, she was welcomed by the sight of.. desertion. Compared to the outside, however, it was a most welcome change. Certainly, as "busy" as the clinic was, they'd accept a walk-in, wouldn't they?
As if she'd wait around, either way. Catching sight of the office, Emilia approached, with all the posture of an aging woman, despite being quite youthful. Again, as she boldly made her way into the little office, Emilia made little effort to use her hand, in favor of brushing it open with a slender shoulder.
"Hello? I'm here to see a.. doctor."
They still went by that these days, didn't they?

Nurse may looked up curiously and smiled to herself pulling the locks of hair that had fallen previously to tuck them behind her air. She saw a young women who looked quite injured and smiling she stood up moving past the younger girl. "If you will make your way into that cubical right there, the doctor will be with you momentarily." she instructed walking of to sit at the reception desk while calling up Dr. Reese.
Reese descended an elevator and as the gate opened he looked around. There were five cubicals along the wall, one was for the medicine delivery, another just for storage but three were well enough to be check-up rooms. You couldn't hear anything that was done in them but the walls ended just before the ceiling and hat vents from their top to it, which allowed for better ventilation.
The gentlemen and several patients seemed to like the relaxed style of the clinic but Reese wasn't worried about opinions. He moved quickly to the first cubical where he entered taking some paperwork off the wall and closing the door once inside. He smiled at the young girl and introduced himself as Dr. Reese Clyde before he began writing down a few things he noticed.
"My main question is why have you come to visit us today?" asked Reese examining the girl from a distance. He didn't want to approach until she was comfortable and with the Clinic still new, he wasn't sure how the construction affected the patients.
Brushing back his hair he pulled out a thermometer and put a cap on it making sure it worked before he stuck it in her mouth after he got all her information. The temperature beeped normal after a few minutes than look cautiously at her shoulder he winced. "Okay, how did this happen Ma'am, you've look like you were involved in an accident?"
As she answered he nodded and took note of points of her story and paused at one moment. "One question I've forgotten to ask, but do you have any disabilities of any kind?" he questioned staring at the one blank. She looked like a normal lady but he had to make sure, it was procedure. After all Reese wasn't going to break the law after the incident he got involved with purchasing this place.
(*I roleplay in a style where you can respond to different parts in one post, like time separations, if you get what I mean. If my post confuses you let me know but know every question is normally separated by an answer of you characters.)

The setting was to make people feel more comfortable, yet, to Emilia, it was simply confusing. She'd only ever visited Hospitals a few times, and those times, the young woman had been to large, bustling places. She was certain, however, that while the staff did more than mere check-ups, and handled serious cases, it was far from what she had anticipated. It wasn't like when she was only a child, sitting impatiently on a cool doctor's table, mouth open and tongue out, held down with something akin to a Popsicle stick. It wasn't like when she was a teenager, either, when she'd made various trips for scraping her legs, pulling muscles in her thighs or calf, or even like when she'd broken her large toe after kicking a sparring partner in the cheek. And at that, it wasn't at all like where she'd had emergency surgery on her arm.
Well.. it was no use dwelling on the past. With the doctor finally arriving, Emilia soon realized that she didn't even know the doctor's name. The only reason she knew the location of his clinic was because, with her wrist fairly useless, she'd used her feet to quickly type in "doctor" in a search engine, narrowing her search down to the local area, and whoever was closest. But how much time had she wasted alone just standing outside, debating whether or not to go in? With luck on her side in that Doctor's wore nametags, and Reese had even gone so far as to introduce himself, Emilia made little effort to smile, but rather, nodded in acknowledgment oh his existence.
"Please - no Ma'ams; call me Emilia, please. Yes, accident, that's what people call it these days."
Another nod, as if confirming that what she'd said was correct. Emilia was reluctant to part her lips for the Thermometer, and in doing so, she visibly.. shuddered. It wasn't completely impossible that she was a bit of a Germaphobe, in addition to her apparent distaste for social activity. With the device confirming her not being sick, the blond female closed her mouth promptly, one it was gone. In regards to his next question.. it was reason for pause. How could you explain something like that? Luckily for Emilia, her apparent failure to understand basic human concepts of what was 'normal' worked to her advantage.
"I was.. watching a bug, and I slipped. My shoulder hurts, but.. big problem is here."
Lacking two proper hands, she instead waved her injured wrist slowly. It was slightly swollen, although the problem with her shoulder was likely only bruising. Having lost already one arm, however, Emilia was feeling great concern for her remaining one; was there a possibility she'd lose this one, too? The Doctor, who's name she recalled was Reese, Clyde.. something or other, next question was almost laughable. She didn't know if he was just being polite in ignoring it, or honestly didn't notice. And so, Emilia just waved what remained of her left arm, allowing the remained of the sleeve to fly back and forth limply, where a normal arm would be.
"I had.. surgery on my arm a few years ago."
"Surgery", a massive understatement which was apparently some vague attempt at morbid humor. With Emilia's attention obviously difficult to keep, the woman's gaze wandered, seeking out a window, or some other source of visual interest. She was only 5'7", and having to look upwards to see the doctor was a bit unpleasant to her.

Reese sat down and examined Emilia's shoulder first asking her to move her shoulder up and down slowly. Feeling it a couple of times he felt for knots. The blood hadn't rushed as fast as he thought it would, he figured it would bruise lower so feeling he found the true know and warned Emilia to prepare for a little pain. Feeling around he pressed slowly below the knot and suddenly the vein opened back up and blood rushed from the bruise back through the body as the body slowly healed the busted vein. He looked at it slowly lifting up her shirt after asking.
It would take a couple weeks to heal, a week minimum. Pulling out a pad he wrote a couple things down than walked over to examine the girls wrist. He saw no point in asking why she was staring at a bug but he kept on examining her. Feeling along very lightly he felt the bone popped out of place and frowned. "I will be right back," he said quickly leaving the room. He ran up the staircase onto the second floor and grabbed a sling, some numbing pads and a piece of paper.
A moment later he was back in the cubical sitting in front of Emilia."You've done nothing serious to your wrist, your bone has just popped out of place. These pads will make your hand numb for about ten minutes so you wont be able to control it very well."he instructed beginning to wipe down her wrist and hand. She didn't want to feel the blood rushing back anyways, it would hurt like no other.
Laying her hand back he asked her to pull back and when she did he pulled the other way till the snap sent a small numbed pinch through the arm. The hand was back in place and the blood was growing lighter as it seeped away. Poking the skin with a needle some of the blood dripped out onto a napkin. He wiped it up and bandaged her arm.
"This should be enough, as you don't get yourself hurt. Do you need anything?"he asked filling out the remaining paperwork. He would continue to help her, that was doctors obligation. After all she would need to get home, why not help her now.
He finished the paperwork and handed it to May who was waiting outside and looked back at Emilia. "May will be waiting for you at the front desk, I will help you with whatever you need."

Emilia wasn't looking forward to the medical care. She knew what they did for bruises, but even that paled in comparison to what she feared he'd be doing with her wrist; and while the dull, painful throb was still evident, Emilia was happy that he began with her shoulder, and let her swollen wrist be. The blond winced visibly as he began to feel the general area of her bruising, and heeding his warning, Emilia briefly braced herself. His fingers pressed the delicate flesh, and with a soft yelp of initial pain, Emilia settled down slowly. With his fingers gone from her shoulder, Emilia again rolled it, sighing.
Now, what she feared; he was going to tamper with her wrist. Despite Emilia's fears, she surrendered the appendage without much complaint. Even his light prodding, for assessing how much damage she'd done, seemed painful for the normally stoic woman, who furrowed her brows in reaction. While it could be considered a bit difficult to confuse the young woman, Reese's darting off did just that, and she watched with a few stray tears speckled across her eyes, she watched him go.
All of it had really 'sucked', it had been far too painful for her comfort. But it wasn't over. Anticipating antibiotics, or pain killers, the green-eyed girl watched Reese make his way back into the cubicle after a moment's absence. Not entirely sure where he'd gone, Emilia's heart picked up it's pace as he began to brush the gauze against her wrist, the usually long sleeve pushed up so that he could. Numbing effects were far more welcome than the Doctor's actual contact, however, and Emilia breathed a sigh of relief, before holding that very breath as he stopped wiping the injured area. Her wrist had popped out of place.. well, that wasn't too bad, right? Emilia was strangely obedient, despite her apprehensiveness, and upon leaning back, she found that he was taking no time in "fixing" her wrist.
The pain was far less than it could have been, but it was nonetheless a painful, strange experience. A soft gasp, a deep breath, and it was done. She watched with some sort of clinical interest as he pricked the area, and wiped the area before bandaging up her wrist.
"How long do I need to wear this? It'll interfere with my work, y'know."
Typing was difficult enough with one hand, and while she could utilize her feet, it was a difficult endeavor. Emilia finally stood, following Reese quietly as he moved towards the front. Indeed, she met the nurse she'd seen very brief before. Now.. what did she need? Certainly nothing you'd conventionally request from a doctor. Nonetheless, the awkward young woman was blunt in her questioning of the doctor, once she'd found him again.
"Can you walk me home? That's something I can ask for, can't I? I.. might have forgotten the way."
What an airhead.

"If you need help with your work, let us know what you do and we will aid how we can, just report here with your work when you get it- if you can. It's our duty to make sure you recover healthily and all of our doctors are dedicated to working 24/7 to make sure our patients recover completely, without interference." Reese said leading Emilia to the front desk. He handed her a small bottle of candy tablets and smiled. "Take two of the white ones and one orange one a day, help it build your body's nutrients and it'll reward you by being stronger."
When she asked to be walked home he filed through her paperwork before handing it to may and found her address. Smiling he nodded, he knew where she lived, further on the outskirts of the town- not so much in the center like Reese and his employees.
Pushing his hair aside he walked out the main lobby following Emilia till they got outside where he stood on her left leading her down one of the familiar streets. Once they'd crossed the busiest street in town Reese stopped short looking at a small deli as his stomach grumbled. Bashful he laughed and looked at Emilia,"Would something to eat please you? You can use your hand, it's just asked that you involve from moving your wrist- or else you will be in pain."

It seemed that the doctor had given her a Placebo, or something like that. While she would have preferred pain medication, and for all she knew, it was just that, Emilia let out no complaints. In all reality, she didn't even pay attention as the young doctor spoke in detail about how many to take, and when. All she could think about was his use of the word "doctors", when it was obvious that the clinic was so small, it couldn't have had more than one or two. It wasn't particularly busy, either. But being ushered outside quickly brought her back to reality, and Emilia followed along with the doctor quietly.
She nursed her injured wrist, the pain there more prominent than her bruised shoulder. And while Emilia still looked rather slobbish, she seemed to take little heed. Really, compared to the clean cut Reese, her short comings were even more obvious.
Had Reese not mentioned the deli, it was in all likelihood that Emilia would have stopped him at some point anyhow; whether it be at a coffee house or deli. She'd missed breakfast, after all - and with the offer to eat, Emilia certainly wasn't going to turn it down. Rather, the blond woman stepped forward, approaching the deli. Up until that moment, she had been relatively silent - yet as they approached the door, she stopped briefly and spoke up.
"It's.. customary for the man to pay for the woman, right? I didn't bring any money with me.. so it will do just fine."
Emilia didn't ask, hell, she didn't even suggest. She assumed, and left the poor Doctor little choice in the situation. Lunch, as it were, was on him.. one could only hope he didn't mind.

Dr. Reese only pulled out his wallet and sliding out a card he handed it to their waiter as they took their seats. The bar was a few steps above streets level and no real windows blocked it off, so you could look and hear the town moving about perfectly. It was relaxing, and yet invigorating at the same time. Reese said little as he took a seat at their window seat, and less still while he ordered. He kept his eyes on the menu deciding his meal before he told and dismissed the waiter after Emilia ordered. Waiters got on his nerves- always did when they hung over a table.
"May I ask you Emilia, what brings you to living here- in this town?"he asked looking her in the eyes before staring out at the horizon from his window. The shining sun reflected off many of the buildings giving a dreamy feel to the landscape. Even the small deli offered little sense of the true reality, it was frightening how a town could capture one in it's grips.
Reese only smiled back at Emilia as she spoke and took a drink of his tea, sitting straight as he did so. Even the younger doctor looked younger than he was, and it reflected with how he acted. He was a more personal doctor and preferred knowing his patients rather than just treating them. As his salad arrived the doctor took a bite before sitting up and thinking. His mouth opened once to say something, than he said it again, this time it came out."You- no, I wont ask," he decided, questions about the past- were a bit to much he thought, he just wandered.

Emilia stepped inside, deciding to allow the doctor to choose their seat. It struck her that the man was not much like other doctors. For one, he was a young man; the one's she had visited as a teenager were old, stuffy men. Reese, however, really was a more.. personal sort, and it showed. Most would simply nudge a patient out their door, and not bother to assist one such as Emilia in getting home. She was an "odd" girl, and often, people would simply rather not associate themselves with that. The female took her seat, leaning back and turning to stare out the window.. While it caused Reese to feel quite pleasant, Emilia couldn't help but feel antsy.
With menus and waiter arriving, Emilia was slower in making her decision. The effects of living such a reclusive life were now felt, and she had to confess that many of the dishes had not been tried in a very long while, or at all. In the end, Emilia settled on a piece of cheesecake, making sure that it was "large" (she repeated this several times to the Waiter), before turning her attention back to Reese. Really, it was a miracle she was in such shape.. usually, staying indoors and eating such amounts of treats resulted in cavities or being overweight.
"The city?.. I've, always lived in the city, I guess? I chose the cheapest place possible when I moved out, but kept away from my parents and the hospitals. In a city, you can stay inside all day, and nobody will notice or care; if I lived in some small suburb, I might get police coming by to see if I'm still alive."
She explained. "Tight-nit communities" simply weren't her thing. With food arriving, Emilia hesitated, looking to her arm. She'd been told she could use it to some extent.. but would it be wise? Deciding to test the waters, so to speak, Emilia lifted the fork carefully, before lifting her gaze from her Cheesecake to the doctor.
"Hm? What were you going to ask? I don't like being left out.."

"The city is an interesting place, as you can see my office itself is small. Since I became a doctor I've been more old-fashioned visiting people's houses and helping them from my office home if I have the ability too. Normally I do." Reese explained watching the waiter as he returned with their food. Reese had ordered a Salad and a small Fliet Mignon to fill him full. He didn't bother in looking at prices, he had enough credit to cover him anywhere in this town, no matter the place he went.
The doctor leaned down taking a bite of a cut of his meat and swallowed with ease after chewing, it was fantastic. Smiling he was stirred by Emilia's insist for him to finish his question and he sighed reluctantly pulling his chair closer to the table. "What exactly was the true reason why you fell over," he said quietly not wanting to attract attention to Emilia or her slight 'accident'
The doctor himself knew it would be rude to point such a thing out in this time and place. Finishing his salad he handed it off and continued to eat at ease with the lady.
