I wouldn't even entertain the idea, punk is still alive, its just not mainstream anymore and one could argue, punk was never mainstream to begin with.

In order to determine whether or not emo has replaced punk, you first need to define: what is emo? Are we talking social appearance or music?
Emo music definitely has not replaced anything. Half of you probably don't know what true emo music is. If you want a lesson, ask Rellik.
As for social appearance, go live in a big city. You'll see.
