Random Facts
And Their Explanations

Some Know,
Others Don't.

-Every Pagan is a Wiccan, But every Wiccan is a Pagan.
Take for example, Christianity. A vast tree with equally separate branches. Some are Catholic, other Mormon, and ever a bigger branch Jewish. The same applies to Paganism. The tree of great age and diversities. In this tree, there are such religions as Wicca, Shamanism, and in some cases, even Christianity.

-Paganism was once held in respect with the new growth of Christianity before the crusades.
In early European history, Christianity was once the minority. Paganism is the oldest known religion in the entire world. Before the Christian Crusades, many church windows and even some church structures were built with the Upward Five Pointed Star. And even today, still across Europe and parts of Ireland people can find famous evidence of the Pagan connection with Christianity. This further proves the Pagan influence in the beginning of Christianity.

-The Five Pointed Star has many meanings, not just one.
If on a lace around a person's neck, if the Star is pointed up, it means Protection for Self. If the Star points down, the ORIGINAL meaning was Protection for those around you. This is why it was normal at one point to see a Star pointed up on the person's front, and a Star pointed down draped behind them. Which means: "Protection for me, as I go forever forward. Protection for those of whom I meet in my travels."

-A Pagan is a person who lives from the Earth and seeks the Spirit world.
Usual Native American religions relates strongly to the mother religion, Shamanism. Pagan means "Country Dweller". Wicca is only a more in depth perception of a Country Dweller. One who would dedicated themselves to the Earth. All Wiccans seek some great beyond or peace and perfection. (that is not proven, but it's theory, just like Heaven)
Disclaimer - Country Dweller late took over the meaning of someone who is not Christian, Catholic, and Jewish. We became Nomads to the religion we helped create.

-Today's New Age Wicca is NOT true Paganism. And it is up to us to understand this and live with that fate.
Pagans were people who did not believe in technology and growing populations. They believed in Survival and the time spent learning and living a free flowing life. Which, in today's world is no easy task. Technology runs the world and it's users. As you sit and read this, realize that if our ancestors were to see what our religion has become, many of them would be very unhappy with most of us. And, it is up to us, to accept that. A true Pagan doesn't need the Internet, Phones, or iPods. But in today's society, that is the only way many of us stay informed. The only thing we can do is try our best to perform our life's work to the world in making a better place. That is the only way NEW AGE Wicca still applies to Paganism.

-Wicca has a sister, and they are very different.
There is Wicca and there is New Age Wicca. One is truer than the other. Today, people learn about the New Age Wicca first, and that's what targets much of the younger crowds. I was one of them. The thing that separates the two is Maturity. Yes, it sucks to think that you may be 16, 18, 21, or even in your early thirties and still not as Mature as this religion requires you to be. New Age Wicca is the trial stage, so to say. And the longer you walk down the "rabbit hole", the more you learn about it's truer meaning. I still have not made it to my religious maturity yet. It's okay, we all discover this on our own time. There is no deadline or law. It's when you open your inner eye to what is true in your heart.

-Wicca Pg-13 is what most people see. Adults have a completely different library.
All the majority of people see on bookshelves are Pg-13 information on Wicca. Again, this is a sign of New Age influences. As soon as you've reached religious maturity or even adult-hood, many of us are surprised at what we find if we are the first generation of Wicca study. (such as myself) Wicca isn't all protection and home remedies. We are a very open, understanding, and sexual religion. Take for example of the Great Right. It's a night once ever (#) of years (don't know how many years, but I will find out for you guys soon) that a Coven of couples or just a solitary couple celebrate the Mother and the Father in a very sexual manner.

-The Great Right is private manner, and once performed, should not be mentioned outside the circle of which it was done in.
It is a very private right, and is forbidden to younger witches. It is a disrespect to the Mother and Father when discussing the Great Right outside of the Circle in which it was done. This ritual is meant for adults only, and those who are sexually comfortable. The Great Right is an option. It is NEVER a requirement. If someone wishes not to take part in the Great Right, there are other alternatives.
