I put up planetary classifications in "Outside Area IC"
Now comes the time where I look for ideas from others as to what planets we should visit and why would we go there.
So lets hear some ideas.
I'm thinking this for the idea format
Jungle World Colony : Tesco V Purpose of colonizing : Lucrative trade in rare tropical fruits Purpose for visiting : Lush tropical environment, excellent sightseeing and beautiful vistas, dinosaur hunting with heavy weapons & hiking on nature trails.
There are many planets in game, some are colonized, some are uncolonized and some are just hostile.
What planets do you want to visit in game?

Not so much right now, but for the future..
Planet name: Lorossk I Planet size: Roughly the size of Mars. Satellites: Three sattelites, one is non-reflective so it is barely visible at night. The other two are about half the size of our moon, while the third is a bit larger than our's. Planet's Terrain: Arid, barely habitable; it is a desert world. It is officially uncolonized, but unofficially, it is a pirate/slaver planet, with large underground factories that produce large amounts of illegal weaponry and vehicles. Purpose for visiting: Colonizing mission, perhaps? Some of the criminal gangs might know of it's existence.
Native species: Ulrussks: a large, brutish species, which barely requires anything to survive. Well adapted to the harsh surface. Main cities: Hades, the largest underground city, which has a very thriving economy based on bartering. It's main exports are weapons, slaves, and illicit drugs. Major imports are precious jewels and fine furniture or carpets.
Main inhabitants: Any stereotypically criminal species, or profit-mongers. A myriad of merchants and slavers.
Besides it being a possible place to visit, in the future, I also wanted a place to keep it. xD
We should organize some planet categorizing system. By size, or purpose, or something.

Industrial Colony: Thebes Purpose of Colonizing: uninhabited, utilized as advanced weapons testing grounds by Darkstar, United Terran Navy and other organizations Purpose of Visiting: delivery of XM416 Advanced Heavy Combat Unit, "Tarantula", to Darkstar Advanced Weapons Research and Development Facility
Thebes is on the far side of the galaxy, so there are plenty of planets we'll be stopping at before we get there.

I built two for my character. See if you like them:
Ice World Colony: Sura Planet size: Slightly larger than Earth Natives: Surasians (some cities still inhabited); Alurasians (unknown location); Me'rams (Large creatures resembling wooly rhinos. Used for food, clothing, transport, labour, etc) Purpose of colonizing: Fresh water supplies; precious metals Purpose for visiting: Giant icy mountains for climbers, pilgramige for Surasians, exploration, recreation (skiing, snowboarding, etc).
Planet name: Zion Planet size: Around the same size as Pluto. Terrain: Covered in buildings which are lifted by platforms over the planet's surface. Surface is covered in water ice. Natives: Surasians. Main City: Zion covers the entire planet. Purpose for visiting: Tourism, trade with Surasians, use of the University libraries, advanced medical treatments, religious pilgramige.
Useful for any characters who want to mix in some politics or secret societies. If you haven't noticed, Zion is an easter egg.

I'm too dumb right now, but I would like to see a tundra planet that we come across, that has like a distress beacon from a small mining camp.
Wait...this sounds familar...
And there are aliens that have wiped out the entire camp
God dammit...nevermind.

Nope, it's either Mass Effect or an episode of a TV programme I've never seen.

Ralen Kentovru
We should organize some planet categorizing system. By size, or purpose, or something. It's in the 2nd subforum under planet classifications

Planet: Newer York Satellites: A moon with its own moon (interesting tides) and a defense platform with magnetical acceleration projectile cannons. Habitable: Terraformed to an Eden-like level. Reason to visit: Arms Factory of NYD, Food market and fun RP.
I'll toss more when I got the time and inspiration. biggrin

I saw it, sorry 'bout that Neuf.
Mass Effect is the one with the Geth, and you're Shepard, and you have those weird kinetic shields.

Mass Effect is the one with the Geth, and you're Shepard, and you have those weird kinetic shields. Yeah. In the beginning a small human colony is wiped out by the geth. They all become undead husks. In another side mission, a distress beacon from a small mining camp draws you in. You go inside, only to find out there's a bomb counting down from 10 and the doors locked as you came in. Most tense 10 seconds of video game history.

Lol. I'll raise your 'most intense ten seconds' with 'most intense song' in video game history.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 - Water Levels. That little tune that happens when Sonic is under the water, to signal that you're about to drown. That made me want to seriously quit every time I ran into one of those levels. It made me panic so bad...
I get shivers now thinking of the sheer terror that rushed through me as a kid.
