Her ship had broken down, the small sailboat she had taken after she split with the crew weeks before. There had been a hole in the bottom, and sure enough she made it far enough to reach port before the entire thing sunk from underneath. Naturally, that had completely halted Nadali in her tracks of becoming a pirate of the seas.

It had been years since she started the dream, the idea of sailing across the sea and living without a care or rules. A childish dream at that, but the nineteen-year old didn't even want to think of growing up. Dreams were made to be completely, brought to reality, or else given up for the 'real world'. And Nadali sure did not want to join the real world.

And so, she spoke throughout the large town, seeking directions to a smaller port where she could...borrow...a small ship and try again. It had been easy, the city folk told her, all she had to do was go around the mountains. There was a trail to the east, though it would take longer, but the west was shorter and slightly more barren. And yet again, she decided to take the short path, before thoroughly getting lost.

It was here where she sat, contemplating her loss in the barren grounds, when a sudden gleam caught her eye. In the distance was a large building, one that she wondered why she hadn't seen it before. Though it didn't look much like a city, the building was a building none the less, and so she walked. Her hair was up, the purple tipped curls filled with dust and her bangs slightly sticking to her cheeks. Thankfully, she had her purple skirt on, and on her waist was a pokeball just in case. She didn't know what she would find, but she was not one to back down. And so, she ventured toward the doors, eying the looming building with pure curiosity.

The sands seem to stretch out in every direction with only a lone, tall building marking the vast landscape. One would think there would be little life out here, aside from the occasional fire or desert sort of Pokemon. However, oddly enough, there was life out here beyond that. Yet one certainly wouldn't expect a random trainer to just waltz across the dry and barren wasteland and find this place.

"Piiiiidgey!" shrieked a bird that certainly was not native to this particular stretch of the island. A small feathered Pokemon in the colors of light tan, black and grey, darted overhead and peered down with red eyes at the intruder. He wheeled about midair and seemed to disappear over a dune.

After a few moments of silence though, a voice suddenly spoke up. "You shouldn't be here," came a distinctly feminine voice with a definite ring of irritation. Where the bird had previously disappeared now stood a teenage girl with long blond hair and arms folded across her chest. She wore a strange uniform with a big red "R" emblazoned across said chest. Infact she wore the trainee colors of an organization long thought dead. She scowled at the girl with the tacky purple ribbon, waiting for her to either run off, explain herself, or whatever.

The noise spread across the dunes like thunder at midnight, seeming to go for minutes and echo for even longer. Nadali didn't expect it at all, and her lavender eyes shot up to catch sight of the bird pokemon circling. Even with the bright sun, she could tell it was a dark shade, and suddenly the thrill of a catch peaked her spirits.

Her hand reached quickly for her belt, and she smirked softly to herself, "Look at that, Senka, seems there is life here afterall..." Pushing the small button on the pokeball, a bright light flashed, and in a split second a small black pichu was on the ground. It looked around, it's markings in lavender, before running toward Nadali and jumping her her body to rest on her shoulder.

Both seemed to glance back up to where the bird circled, Nadali licking her lips as it flew away. Smirking yet again, she nodded once, before moving in the direction it had disappeared, before promptly stopping at the sight of the girl dressed in black.

Raising her chin, she waited, eyes locked on the girl as she eyed the uniform, remembering the sea rumors of a clan of so called wrong do-ers who had the same red symbol. If only she remembered the name. Yet, it didn't matter as the girl spoke up, and Nadali was forced to respond from the distance away, her pichu still resting on her shoulder.

"I shouldn't be in a lot of places, but that never stopped me before...and frankly, dear, I don't think you will stop me either."

Nadali could tell there was an effort to intimidate her, and she knew she was at the disadvantage, since she had no clue where she was. But than again, she also knew pokemon wise she had to upper hand. Now, all she needed to do was wait and see what would go down next.

Oh yes, it was turning out to be a good day.

The arid breeze teased Nikki's hair as she stared down at this girl and her oddly colored Pichu. She looked at the Pokemon in what could be interpreted as disgust. The black and tan Pidgey from before then descended to perch on her shoulder, glaring at Pichu and trainer with more open hostility. If she had hoped to catch a black bird that day, Nadali would be disappointed.

However, at the word "dear", Nikki's disgust became even more apparent at the furrowing of her brown and the slight crinkling of her nose. Ugh, how she hated to be called that. It was demeaning and was an obvious mockery. She was starting to thoroughly dislike this girl already. But then, there was hardly a soul that was ever in her good graces. She was just not very found of other people, for she found them to be stupid and unreliable. Nikki would rue the day that she would be assigned a partner.

Still, she tried to push away her discontent and instead lifted a brow. "Is that so? Surely you don't think that building behind me is uninhabited." A smirk then twisted her lips as she remained firmly planted in where she stood. After all... Nadali had only herself and a freak of a mouse. And no... to her DF was no freak. He was far better than the black and purple Pichu, type disadvantage aside. While Nikki had a whole crime organization backing her, the headquarters of which this idiotic girl had stumbled upon. Oh yes, Nikki knew that in the long run, she had the advantage. She had to wonder what this intruder intended to do about it? Surely she wouldn't be so stupid as to plow past her and take on the rest of Team Rocket. However, stranger things have happened.

Nadali laughed, because of course she knew someone was there. In fact, she assumed since someone took great means in hiding such a tower, that this girl probably was a guard or something. Beside, she had to be with that uniform on.

"I was simply passing through," She commented with a shrug, a smug smirk on her face as her pichu raised her eyes onto the pidgy, "In fact, I was looking for a port, so I could sail out...clearly I must have gone the wrong way, so I wanted to seek directions."

She paused a moment before her smirk grew, "However, since my plans are pretty weak, and you seem to be hiding something in that building, I figure I might as well see what the fuss is about. It's a free world afterall."

She laughed at that, and got the feeling that the response from the blonde wouldn't be a positive one. But, it would be entertaining, and Nadali was bored from all of her walking.

No, Nikki wasn't a guard. They wouldn't be assigning guard duty to someone who had just arrived and had only a weak little Pidgey to keep off intruders. No, she had merely been out training Darkfeather and looking for wild Pokemon that were suitable to catch.

The girl, who really wasn't that much older and had no right to call her "dear", had a very unlikely story. Either she was incredibly stupid or lying. After all, the desert was a very unlikely place to find a port. Nikki figured it was probably both.

"A free world?" Nikki scoffed at that remark then shrugged. "Do whatever the hell you want." She wasn't going to stop this bimbo from walking right up to the headquarters of a criminal organization. She would likely regret it soon enough. Either way... she didn't care what happened to this person, and it wasn't her problem to deal with. At least not yet. Thus it wasn't her neck on the line. The real guards would find her soon enough.

Nadali could have easily left than and there, simply walked past and just ignored the blonde as she moved along, but her interest was clearly perked. It was a strange place for a building, and a strange place for a girl. And so, she settled her weight on her heels and let out a whistle.

"So, I'm guessing from your shirt that your name starts with an R...what is it...Rebecca...Raechel...maybe Renee..." She trailed off, before adding, "...either way, you don't seem the type to be that obsessed with your name...at least not obsessed as you seem to be with your hair."

She grinned again, putting her hands behind her back as Senka jumped from her shoulder and landed on the ground.

Oh great... so now she wanted to chat. Nikki was getting it now. This girl just wanted to rile her as much as possible. Well she wouldn't give her the satisfaction. As easy as it was to get Nikki to lose her temper, she wasn't about to let this annoying stranger win that easily either.

Still, Nikki gave her an unamused glare. Obsessed with her hair? Please. Since when was having long hair, that she did almost nothing with, considered obsessive? Darkfeather watched the black and purple Pichu from his perch as it hopped to the ground. He was practically bristling just at the presence of the electric Pokemon.

"I have no reason to give my name to you," Nikki responded curtly. After all, wasn't it a bit rude to ask someone's name before introducing yourself first?

Nadali nodded, seeing the thought process that the girl seemed to go through. Though she couldn't read thoughts at all, she did get the hint when a glare was sent her way yet again.

It took no time for her to decide that this wasn't the best conversation ever, but this was all she had, all she could think to do after hours of walking alone. She figured she would have to try one last time, and at least act civil for just a moment.

"Okay, look...my name is Nadali, and I'm looking for a job. I'm guessing from your uniform that you are from...uh....Team...Rocket, yeah Rocket! Is there any way I could end up working there?" She waited a second, curious and hoping that being polite would help her out just a bit.

Nikki paused for a moment at the sudden confession from Nadali. If that was her nice act, it was a bit lacking. That didn't matter though. The fact that she had realized she was with Team Rocket and was actually looking a job, caused the blond to raise a curious eyebrow.

Again Nikki snorted. Yes, she does that a lot. "Really? You're not as dumb as you look. Or at least pretended to be." The girl smirked and looked Nadali up and down and then back to that dreadful black and purple Pichu, as if sizing them up. Were they even worth bringing back to the HQ? Well.. the Team was desperate for new recruits and she was sure her superiors could handle the screening. Maybe she'd even get some brownie points for bringing someone in. Hm.

Now it was Nikki's turn to put on her "nice act." She gave a little haughty smirk... which was supposed to be a smile. Sort of. And put her hands on her hips. "Sure, what the hell. I suppose I can hook you up."

Nadali watched with silence as the girl eyed her up and down, slowly moving her hands to her hips. It was hard not to shiver under the glare, but for the girl who was used to the high seas, she was not that intimidated. Well, that was a lie, because frankly, Nadali disliked anyone who acted that way right off the bat.

But than again, it also was Team Rocket, so it shouldn't have been a surprise.

"Awesome...this makes my life a lot easier...kind of. I'm sure training will be hell, but it's better than wandering. Thank you."

She smiled in return, before holding out her hand as the pichu jumped back up to her shoulder. A small spark left the lavender cheeks of the creature, before she calmed and settled close to her trainer.

She didn't care one way or the other if Nadali was intimidated or not. Nikki wasn't about to change her ways any time soon. Yes it was Team Rocket, and there was all sorts of characters among their ranks.

Nikki waved off the thanks, not finding it necessary. "Don't mention it. Come on."

With that, she blonde began to lead the other girl and her weird Pichu towards the base where Nadali would be handed over to one of Nikki's superiors.

Nadali eyed the movement of the taller girl's hand, her dark eyes following it back and forth before moving back toward Nikki. It was a second of her studying the smooth features of the grunt before a wave of blonde hair flushed her vision.

She moved to walk closer, debating if she should be right beside Nikki or continue to walk behind. Somehow, while it might have been a sign of mutual respect to join Nikki's side, Nadali also had a feeling that it would also be a irritation to the already irritated girl.

Nikki really needed to lighten up in the pirate's opinion.

So, Nadali choose to try and stay a step behind, but to the side, where both could keep the other in view, and where Nadali would be ready for any foul play. Just in case...of course.

After a few minutes of trekking, the pair finally arrived at the base where they met with the guards that were stationed at the front. After some words were exchanged between a guard and Nikki, the guard motioned them inside.

The blonde led the other girl through the corridors and into the heart of the HQ, eventually coming into a room where a very tell man with brown hair and cold blue eyes awaited them.

"Sir" Nikki said tonelessly as she gave the man a salute and glanced back at the one who had followed her. "I've brought a new recruit."

The man turned his eyes on Nadali and nodded, "Fine. You're dismissed."

Nikki then turned and walked out the door without another word.

((Wow, I really fail at replying ^^;;; sorry)

Nadali grew serious as she saw the building fully, and kept her mouth shut when they entered. It was a lot to take in, for such an amazingly hidden building, and there was just so much to keep track of. After a moment, she gave up on keeping a tab on which paths they took, and simply eyed the way ahead. It was a silent path, and no one seemed to be around, that is until they entered the room.

Nadali eyed the man, struck motionless by his blue eyes and cool demeanor. It wasn't too hard to assume this was a high officer, one that was in charge and had some bit of strength. On her shoulder, she felt Senka shift and spark a bit, and quickly picked the creature up to hold her in her arms. It would not due to allow Senka to have a fit, not at that moment.

Instead, she continued to keep silent, stroking her spark pokemon and listening to the short conversation before her. When Nikki left, Nadali watched her go before turning around, clearing her throat, and taking another step forward.

"...I...hello Sir, my name is Nadali Pade..."
