Tykier finally got to go back to the zoo that day for being good. He was leaning over the lions' pit, reminiscing the day that he first met Duncan. He smiled.

Lizzy held tight to her mother's hand as the two navigated around the zoo. It was booming today. The warm weather had proved a good marketing pitch when parents of all ages were being drug out of their homes by eager children. Gabrielle turned her soft blue eyes down to the toddler who clung to her right hand, passively licking at a ice cream cone that dripped down her t-shirt. It had been a struggle just to get the child into a shirt that morning, least of all the skirt pooling around her legs.

Little 'halos' orbited around her tentacles, bumping into her side occasionally on the one that was dwarfed. The appendage squirmed, wrapping itself around the young ones stomach while it's sibling probed the passing fences. It coiled around the cool metal, dragging her closer to the enclosures. Her bi-colored eyes widened. " Momma, momma look!" She tugged frantically on her caregiver's hand, dragging the tall woman down to her level.

"Would you look at that, zebra. Do you know why they all look alik-?" Gabrielle was halted mid-sentence by an agitated squeel.

"No, no! That!" She pointed at a teenager just a little ways away.

Gabrielle didn't like the idea of letting her daughter go off on her own at any point, but seeing as the girl hadn't seen any others from the facility before, she reliquinshed. "Stay where I can see you," was her only reply before turning her back on the girl to look at the conforming animals.

Elisabetta clutched her cone tight in her little hands. Bare feet squished against the stones that littered the path before she was a satisfactory distance away from him, which was extremely close for most people. Her longer tentacle reached out timidly, the halo surrounding it dropping down a few inches as she poked his demonic wing.

Tykier felt the touch, and jumped a little. He turned around, and saw the little girl's tentacle touching his left wing membrane. "Well, hello. Having fun feeling my wing?" He laughed a bit.

She nodded her head, sending her halos in a spiral around the little pigtails. "Its really cool, mister." The tentacle turned over onto its side, brushing softly against the scarlett membrane. Outside of story books, she had never seen a wing before and it had her completely entranced. The fact that he had two, even though they didn't match, made him cool.

Elisa looked up, preparing to smile at him when she involuntarily gasped, clutching the ends of her oversized tee in her little fingers. "What happened to your other eye? Its gone!" There was one big one in the center of his face, but what about the other one? Everyone had two! "Did somebody steal it?"

There was the question. The question that everyone seemed to ask. "No... I was born like this..." He knelt down, "So what's your name?"

"Oh." She nodded knowingly, with a little smile curling her lips up at the edges. So long as he wasn't missing anything, then she was at peace. Her toes shuffled on the pavement while she scuttled back away from him, suddenly at a lose as to what to do with him so close now.

Her tentacle, though, kept stroking his wing, occasionally drifting to his arm and hand, responding to her primal instinct to be close to others. "E-liz-a-bay-ta." The toddler pronounced her name with some difficulty, then smiled broadly at the end, proud with herself that she didn't screw up. "Mommy calls me Lizzy. Whats your name?"

"My name is Tykier. Or Ty, for short." Tykier smiled. "It's nice to meet you, Lizzy!" For one so small, she was good with her social skills.

He looked down to see the tentacle still touching his arm. "So, do you have names for them?"

" Ty. " Elisabetta giggled, imagining the little stuffed creatures lining her bedroom back home. She didn't think any one of them matched him, but she was sure momma could make one.

"Names?" She scrunched up her face and looked down, holding her arms out to give the tentacles room. The longer one stopped its roaming to peep up questioningly while the dwarf coiled around her waist. "Are dey a'posed to have names?" True, they were like her best friends in every way, but since they didn't have eyes or any other characteristic of a living being, she hadn't given it much thought as to calling them anything.

"Well, two of my friends, who are almost like us, but more like you, have names for their tentacles," he explained, "I think it's a good idea because, then, you can show which one is which to others."

"Oh." Elisabetta made a little 'o' with her mouth. Still, she frowned and after staring at them for a good while, came to the horrible conclusion that she didn't names. Little toes crossed one another while she thought. Big and little didn't sound like very good names. Her name was long, which meant that theirs had to be as well.

Or did they?

Inspiration stricking her, she got really close to his face and grasped her tentacles with her hands, shoving them up infront of his eye as close as she could get without toppling over. "Lucy, " she showed him the little one, who was busily coiling around her hand, "an' Pips." Smiling triumphantly, she beamed even as Pips grasped hold of Ty's hair, giving it a mighty tug.

"Those are good names, but I was thinking about Luna and Stella... Luna, for the longer tentacle with the moon on it's ring, and Stella, meaning star, for the smaller one!" He ignored the pain of the tug of his hair.

"Nuh-uh!" She pouted, her bi-colored eyes turning into annoyed slits. "Dis one is bigger and it has da star." Pointedly, she tapped the one currently playing with his silvery/gray hair. "I don't wanna name 'em no more. I wanna see the kitties!"

The pebbles on the ground shifted as the little toddler leapt back, her pale skirt billowing out around pale legs. Pips, as she was planning to call him, slid down Ty's arm in a caress and wrapped around his hand, dragging him along with her. "I don't 'member what der called the ones that run really fast."

((s**t! I forgot what she looked like!xP))

"Uh... Sure..." Tykier noticed the tentacle creeping up his arm. He got a little bit worried.

Ty started to move to the big cats, "They're called Cheetahs," reminding the little one.

( Lol, its okay. It happens to the best of us. :3 )

"Cheetahs," Elisa repeated. "Do dey always run fast?"

By the time she reached the enclosure that the big furries were hiding in, a solid wall was wrapped around it. She frowned, one little fang protruding over his bottom lip. The bottom of her shirt was starting to unravel because of all the rubbing she was doing in agitation on the seams.

Then, the light at the end of the tunnel shined for her and she squeel. "Der!" A stone bench, just low enough for her to climb up onto with ease was poised near the wall. Elisabetta squeel and released Ty so that she could run over to it, wobbling to and fro as her mitchmatched tentacles tried to figure out what was happening. She slammed her open palms on the bench once she'd reached it to stop herself and within the same breath, she was struggling to climb it.
