im a bit unfit and my friend says working out with weights wont realy help for parkour and idea for a work out routine?

Working with weights will build muscle and burn fat. Calories are the equivalent of coal for a steam train. When you are using your muscles they are fed and become energy. What you don't burn is stored and turned into fat. But my advice is to run. Just run and don't stop. I got in shape just by running and doing body-weight exercises and calisthenics, nothing more.

Also if your diet is not good change it. I stay away from fried foods, carbonated drinks (Not necessary at all. I just try and and stay away from them unless they are 0 calories), candy or any carnival food.

staying "fit" or "unfit" does not matter. Pure will and the motivation to do it is what really matters. Try conditioning your body and do things "parkour related" to condition your self.

Remember these keys to parkour conditioning; Control, balance, flow, power, and Fluidity. Those are they key importance of parkour training. I does not matter "who can jump the farthest" or "who can run up that wall" its all about your body and how it works.
