Obviously we're all obessive fanatics, so obviously Harry Potter has changed your life in some major way.
Here I want people to discuss what the Harry Potter books/movies done for your life.
Were Harry, Ron and Hermione friends that were there for you when there was no one else? Did it bring you and another family member closer? Has it brought you and your parents bank account down by a considerable amount? razz
Just discuss anything!

Oh, Grey, this is such a wonderful topic idea! Five points to you!
Harry Potter definitely changed my life. 3nodding I loved reading before and after HP, so it isn't because of that. I loved writing beforehand also, so it's not because of my fan fiction either. It's because without HP I wouldn't have Remus. Moony is my inspiration. heart Whenever I'm upset about something, I think about how Remus' life was so much more difficult, but he still tried so hard to be a pleasant, non-resentful person. I look at fan fics and art about him to cheer me up. whee
Additionally, HP also changed my life because without it I wouldn't have met many of the great online friends that I have, exclaim and that would be a tragedy.

When I was younger, I had very few friends and even now, I have lost quite a few friends. The two things that have been consistent in my life is my family and HP. Even my house hasn't been reliable because I've moved so much. I look forward to the part of the day when I can come home and read fanfics or roleplay or just come on the HP guilds. Plus, I've made amazing friends because of HP that no matter where I move, I know I'll keep in touch with them. heart heart heart HP is a major part of my life and I hope to keep it that way even when I have my own kids. biggrin
My friends call me obsessed... (:

{Thanks for the points smile }
Harry Potter has also been so huge in my life. Like I said in the first post, when all my friends in RL were lost, HBP came out and the trio became my true friends. The books will always be there for me and I can never get sick of them. Even when I was younger, the story just brought something out in me that I had never felt before : obsession. razz Harry Potter was the first thing I reeeeally loved and felt strongly for. I remember going to the first movie at waiting outside the movie theatre doors waiting for it to open. Harry Potter also got the young me into reading other books and becoming a fantasy lover.
I really could go on but there's so much that I can owe to the books.

 Harry Potter has been so much to me. It's been a defining thing about me. It has shaped my personality because it made me want to be brave like Harry, smart like Hermione, easy-going like Ron, wise like Dumbledore, funny like Fred and George, I could go on and on. When I had nothing to do, Harry Potter gave me a better alternative to TV. Because of Harry Potter, I have some of my best friends in the world. Kirstie, Colton, Melanie, and even Scottie, Harry Potter was a major tie that brought me closer to all of these people. Plus, it has brought me to all of you!

Harry Potter's definately changed my life. When the books first came out, I lived in a pretty bad town. Violence and drugs everywhere. Even though I lived across the street from the police station. I also lived right next to the library. Since I didn't have a card, I'd go in and sit for hours reading books. One day, the librarian let me read the Sorcerer's Stone. I instantly fell in love. I'd go in everyday after school till I finished it. The book kept me out of trouble and helped me make the right decisions. As the series, continued, I got even more hooked. Whenever I was confronted with a hard decision, I'd think about Harry, Ron and Hermione and what they'd do. It kept me out of some tough spots.
The series gave me a world outside my own to live in. It helped me cope when my mom went to prison, when I had trouble making friends, when my family fought. I'm eternally grateful for the series. Even if my friends do make fun of me for being obsessed. Can't help it. blaugh

For me, Harry Potter offered an alternate reality. I've had a pretty hard life and some tough times to work though. The books let me escape to a less complicated place- where evil is evil and good is good. I was able to forget about my life and be absorbed in the magical world of the books. The characters in the book were exemplary figures for me. The characters have influenced me so strongly and have helped shape me into who I am. Some people in my life say I have a problem with my obsession with the books, but they don't understand what the books have done for me and how important they are to me. Without this wonderful series I probably wouldn't have made it through some tough times unscathed.

Its made me spend hours at a time role-playing in my head. This shapes my imagination and gives me ideas for my own novels.
