I would be terrified if these made people think i took myself really seriously. Hair spray is just fun LOLZ. so about as professional as i can get here is, kinda in a deliberate conscious way, ******** around with my digicam without a tripod, then uploading them and using some free software that came with my camera to clean up and process the photos. SO yeah. her were are on withit! For these first ones, i set my self up in front of a white background and used my flash, which i usually dont do because i usually hate using my flash: Something a little different evidently happened here with the focus, but i liked it with the washed out look.

Wow! Cindy Sherman indeed! I really really like the 2nd and third one, they don't show the flash so much. (I reccommend tissue, you'd be suprised.)
The color ones are definitely very Cindy sherman though, I really like them. You are sooooo pretty. I dig em!

I actually don't like a lot of Cindy Sherman, but I like the ones that are like yours, definitely. How'd you get the red eyes?

Basically, in low lighting i just turned off the flash. that's the only explanation i can come up with. in all honestly, i've probably only seen the Sherman stuff that was like mine, so there you go XD

The photo I like the best, as such would be the third one in your second post. I guess I just like your expression there and the tonal detail is nice. It's not harsh or glarey but it has nice contrast all the same.
I am going to google Cindy Sherman because I don't know who she is sweatdrop

Doctor MEAN! i like. the first one. you're so cute. ;_; but i'm not a fly ; ; heart The third one definately came out best with the flash, i just felt it was a little awkward composition wise. The hair is right there at the edge......I think posted on a white background tricks the eye into thinking there's more space than there really is.

With flash? I didn't think to use that--I just might do that next time I make a series of self-portraits. I -rarely- use my flash, I just dislike how pale everyone always comes out along with the central lighting effect it creates [unless there's lighting from behind as well]. @_@;;

Well not for my manual camera work at least, because it's not a built in feature of my camera. I just usually work with the lighting and adjust shutter/aperture settings accordingly.
I occasionally use my digital camera for taking snapshots, but the flash is built in so I really can't avoid that. Heh.

I usually don't use flash either, but TTL is pretty cool. You just have to sorta have to expect what its going to do. It's tricky sometimes. Bouncing flashes are great, but you usually can't do that unless you have a nicer flash, which is more money, of course.

Aimless i think the strongest photo is the second one in the first post. you're gorgeous. thanks the compostion on that one seems off to me. The frame crops a bit too close the that hair on the left side. but on the white BG you dont see the edge of the photo so it feels like there's more space. it's a tricksy thing Maybe it's just me that cares. Maybe i could add a white boarder and get the illusion to work in my favor?
