Just because equipment comes and goes and doesn't have anything to do with a character profile.

This is the depository of all equipment that people have with their characters and need to explain their function and limitations.

This is what we have so far from Requiem6661's Equipment.

Darkstar Model 67 Multi-Purpose Prosthetic
Riku's right arm is a highly adaptable tool for combat. Thousands of micromechanisms gives the arm strength far beyond that of a human, and it's carbon-alloy exterior makes it impervious to most kinds of attacks, short of high-intensity energy attacks. It contains biometric scanners to monitor Riku's health, medical injections to assist him if he is seriously injured, various tools such as a fusion cutter, and can carry specialized equipment. The arm is outfitted with EMP protection, both to prevent damage from external EM weapons, and to prevent damage from the EM emitter in the Plasma Shield Emitter.

Darkstar M9 Communication Headset
A two-part headpiece consisting of an earpiece and a visual HUD display, it fits over Riku's right ear and eye. It can communicate with all two-way frequencies on the ship, except for certain company frequencies, while the HUD allows all visual updates to appear where Riku can easily access them.

Darkstar Mark 7 Plasma Shield Emitter
The M7 Plasma Emitter is a powerful device mounted inside Riku's right arm. It utilizes an electromagnetic "bottle" to contain the high-intensity plasma. It can emit a personal plasma shield around Riku, protecting him against all attacks from all angles, or it can form a shield in front of him to deflect forward attacks, which requires less power. The shield absorbs the energy from attacks, and if too much is gathered, the shield breaks, requiring the shield to recharge before it can be used again.

F17 Plasma Blade
The F17 is a small plasma blade, designed for multiple roles. It has two modes, Blunt and Cut. In Blunt mode, it acts as a short-range less-than-lethal melee weapon, almost like a billy club. In Cut mode, it can cut through flesh, bone, and steel or titanium armor.

PSX-42 Phaser Pistol
The PSX-42 is an advanced weapon, authorized for use by Darkstar personnel of the rank "Master Sergeant" or higher. It fires a directed energy blast that can be set to either "Stun", "Kill" or "Vaporize". It can also fire electromagnetic pulses, disabling electronic systems.

Harvey-Daytona S-500 hovercycle
A hovercycle for traveling around the large corridors of the ship. It is unarmed.

Darkstar F-191 Interceptor
Riku's personal starfighter, used for defending the ship. It is equipped with four light laser cannons, two heavy laser cannons, and multiple types of missiles for engaging both other fighters and larger ships. It can reach speeds of up to fifteen percent of lightspeed. It is stored in Riku's personal hangar, and can only be activated by a special key in his prosthetic arm.

Once you introduce a piece of equipment in game, it means unless it's a custom build prototype model, anyone can acquire one within reason.

And try to remember folks, make it interesting. Even Smaug had a hole in his scale armor.

Weapons and Equipment


NOTICE: All weapons are available to the public, unless otherwise stated.

M42 pistol
Multi-role pistol
Caliber: 11.5x22mm
Capacity: 15 rounds

The standard sidearm for all Darkstar forces, the M42 is a lightweight, reliable firearm designed for accuracy and power. It’s .45 caliber round packs considerable firepower, and is excellent for short to medium range. It comes standard equipped with a dual laser sight/ flashlight, and can be outfitted with a suppressor and aperture sights.

Type 19 SMG
Submachine gun
Caliber: 11.5x22mm
Capacity: 30 rounds, 60 rounds (drum)

The T19 is a lightweight, compact submachine gun, featuring a unique recoil reduction system that dampens the recoil of the .45 caliber round. This gives it excellent accuracy, even in fully automatic fire. It is commonly carried by the Darkstar police force, but is often found in the hands of gang members and criminal organizations, as well.

R82 shotgun
Pump-action dual-magazine shotgun
Caliber: 8-gauge shotgun shells
Capacity: 12 rounds (double tube magazines)

The R82 is the standard shotgun of Darkstar, and features a unique design of two magazines instead of one. It can hold six rounds of two types, one type in each magazine, or it can hold twelve rounds of one type. It can also be set to fire from one magazine, or from both alternately. It’s bullpup design gives it a small size, but requires it’s pump-action to operate backwards, being pumped towards the muzzle.

V117 Gauss rifle
Magnetically accelerated assault rifle
Caliber: 8mm depleted uranium caseless slugs, 40mm caseless smart grenades
Capacity: 60 rounds (rifle), 3 rounds (launcher)

A powerful weapon, the V117 uses magnetic acceleration technology to fire it’s slugs, rather than conventional chemical propulsion. It fires 8mm DU slugs capable of penetrating light armor on combat vehicles such as mechs, as well as most forms of body armor short of energy shielding. It is also equipped with an airburst grenade launcher for entrenched positions. It was designed as an advanced infantry weapon, and features an internal computer in the foregrip, which monitors ammunition, the charge of the power cell, and programs the airburst grenades. The weapon becomes useless if exposed to large amounts of electromagnetic energy. It is often found in the hands of more powerful criminal organizations.

MG-360
Light machine gun
Caliber: 7.62x45mm
Capacity: 230 rounds (belt)

The MG-360 is the primary light machine gun carried by Darkstar when necessary. It is a powerful weapon that takes the best of many older machine guns, and combines them into one. It is capable of a rate of fire of almost 1,250 rounds per minute. Due to it’s power, it is kept under strict lock and key by Darkstar.

SMK Sniper Rifle
Light sniper rifle
Caliber: .50 Riviera
Capacity: 10 rounds

The SMK is Darkstar’s primary sniper rifle, and was designed to use a round commonly found on Riviera. It can hit targets up to three miles away, and can penetrate up to 10mm of titanium armor. It is kept under strict lock and key by Darkstar.

Type 37 RPG
Rocket-propelled grenade launcher
Caliber: 20x120mm RPG
Capacity: 6 rounds

The Type 37 is the heaviest weapon available to Darkstar forces. It fires rocket-propelled grenades of various types, and is meant as a multi-role assault weapon. It’s rounds were designed to be safely fired inside of spacecraft, without the risk of compromising the hull. It is kept under strict lock and key by Darkstar, and only ten of them exist on-board TranCity. It is illegal for anyone outside of Darkstar to operate and own a Type 37, and anyone caught with one will be punished according to Darkstar’s own rules.

X3 Stun Gun
Directed energy less-than-lethal weapon

The X3 uses an electrostatic charge to stun targets. It functions, effectively, as the 21st century Taser did, rendering the person unable to move for ten seconds by causing a miniature seizure, rendering the person unable to use their muscles to move. It is a very low charge, and cannot be set to kill targets. The X3 is very common as a defensive weapon.

PSX-42 Phaser Pistol

The PSX-42 is a directed-energy weapon available only to Darkstar officers. Due to it’s high cost and low numbers, it is difficult for anyone outside of the company to obtain one. It uses a directed beam of energy, which can be set to four settings: “Stun”, “Kill”, “Vaporize” and “EM Burst”. It’s power cell automatically recharges after each shot, preparing for the next shot. The pistol is illegal to own outside of Darkstar, and anyone caught with one will be punished severely.

RSX-19 Phaser Rifle
Directed-energy assault rifle

A Darkstar weapon meant for advanced combat units, it is more powerful, and even harder to obtain than it’s pistol counterpart. It is a fully automatic assault rifle that fires pulses of directed energy. It is capable of the same settings as the PSX-42, but is far stronger. Like the PSX-42, the RSX-19 is illegal to own outside of Darkstar. Only three exist on board TranCity, and are kept in the hands of the higher-ranking officers.

F7 Galilean Linear Directed Energy Rifle

The F7 GLDER, or “Gelder”, is another directed-energy weapon developed by Darkstar for it’s operatives. It fires an ionized laser that can reach out and touch a target at five miles away. Because the beam travels at lightspeed, it is impossible to dodge. Only one rifle of this kind exists on TranCity, in the hands of the Director of Security for Darkstar forces.

Caliber: 50mm DU flechette
Capacity: single-shot

The Type 19 HVML is one of the most powerful weapons ever developed. It is effectively a railgun, designed for destroying both tanks and aircraft. It has no guidance system and no warhead; the round travels at ten percent of light speed, so nothing in an atmosphere can avoid it, and it has enough kinetic energy to utterly destroy anything it comes into contact with. The only one aboard TranCity is equipped to the “Tarantula” mech inside Darkstar’s hangar.

Mk 26 grenade
Dual-mode stun/ high-explosive grenade

The Mk 26 is a dual-mode grenade, capable of either stunning the enemy, or generating an explosion capable of killing anyone in a 12-foot radius. Due to it’s power, it is strictly supervised by Darkstar forces.


F17 Plasma Blade
Plasma-energy melee weapon

The F17 is a melee weapon that utilizes plasma instead of a solid blade or blunt edge. It has two modes, “Blunt” and “Cut”. In “Blunt”, it acts as a billy club, used to club enemies for less-than-lethal effect. In “Cut” mode, it can slice through flesh, bone, and steel or titanium armor. Darkstar offers a civilian version, the VC17, which only features the “Blunt” mode.

The Mk 7 PSE is one of Darkstar’s most advance pieces of equipment, available to both it’s own operatives and civilians, though at a hefty price tag few can afford it. It generates a field of plasma that can either be directed in front of the user, or surround everything surrounding the emitter in a three square foot radius. The shield can reflect melee, projectile and directed energy attacks, though highly focused beams of energy, such as that from the F7 “Gelder” rifle, can penetrate by simply forcing aside the plasma ions. It can sustain a closed environment, holding in any air inside it’s radius when activated, though it does not protect against a vacuum. The shield absorbs energy as it is struck; if too much energy is absorbed, a failsafe activates, breaking the shield, and requiring to bleed off the excess energy for two minutes.

An advanced version, the Mk 10, is equipped to the “Tarantula” mech.

Mechanized Units

NOTICE: All mechanized units, while developed by Darkstar, are under the express control of the company operating TranCity. The exceptions to this are the ZX-42, which is available for civilian purchase, the AX-44, which is used by Darkstar for security purposes, and the Tarantula, which is kept inactive in Darkstar's personal hangar.

ZX-42 Light Drone, "Crab"
Height: 7.5”

Armament: X3 stun gun

The ZX-42 is designed to be a small, efficient defensive drone. It resembles a small saucer, with four stubby legs and a sensor array mounted on top. It moves using a cushion of air projected underneath it by a powerful fan, and uses it’s legs to stand for attacking. It utilizes a modified version of the X3 stun gun to stun enemies. It is very weak, and can be disabled easily. It is commonly used by richer citizens as a defensive drone for their estates.

AX-44 Aerial Drone, "Flying Stick"

The AX-44 is the aerial counterpart of the ZX-42, used for aerial surveillance. It is essentially a long rod, with a propeller at one end and a visual display system at the other end. It is launched using a special catapult that comes with the drone. After launch, it’s propeller deploys, and it begins surveillance via remote control. It is easily destroyed, but due to it’s small size it is a difficult target.

M941 Mobile Weapons Platform, "Gun Head"

A highly adaptable device, the M941 is essentially a mobile, self-powered turret, which can carry several weapons. It is equipped with a front-mounted bullet shield, and comes standard equipped with a belt-fed semi-automatic grenade launcher loaded with either stun rounds or high explosive grenades. If necessary, it can also be equipped with the MG-360 or RSX-19. It can be disabled by destroying the power supply on it’s rear. It was designed originally as an anti-riot weapon, but is now commonly used as a weapon of it’s own. It is commonly referred to as the “Gun Head” due to it’s design- the weapon sits where it’s head would be. It moves on a pair of caterpillar treads, which can adjust for moving up stairs.

FV17 Armored Assault Unit, "Sweeper"

The FV17 is designed for repelling invasions aboard the vessel, and as a last-resort anti-riot weapon. It is vaguely humanoid, equipped with two Gauss rifles mounted on it’s “arms”, and an internal Type 37 rocket launcher. It can also be equipped with the RSX-19 phaser rifle. It’s legs allow high mobility, and have internal wheels for rapid movement. It’s armor plating makes it resistant to bullets, though armor-piercing rounds and directed energy weapons are effective against it.

M1242 Aerial Combat Unit, "Flying Crab"

The M1242 ACU is the aerial counterpart to the "Sweeper", and carries identical weaponry. It is kept aloft by a special reverse-gravity system, and utilizes two small thrusters to move about. While referred to as the "Flying Crab", it is often nicknamed "R2D2" because of it's resemblance to the 20th century movie character of the same name.

The XM416 is the most advanced mech built by Darkstar. Unlike the other mechanized units, which were built as security robots, the “Tarantula” is solely built as a combat mech. It is equipped with heavy weaponry for attacking enemy vessels, including the powerful Type 19 HVML. It is also equipped with an advanced version of Darkstar’s personal shield technology. Only five exist, and one is kept in Darkstar’s hangar on TranCity for eventual transit to their testing facilities on Thebes.

Ferals use ragtag weaponry of every corner, so I am not going to roll them here. biggrin

NYD-7 Sidearm
Concealable pistol
Caliber: Energy-based
Capacity: 10 shots with one battery

One of the more popular sidearms provided by the NYD due to its speicalized technology to hide it from scanners and other intelligence equipment. It is only effective at short ranges, the energy blast losing focus and strength the farther it goes.


^Silas has one of these and a F17 Plasma Blade gained from shady dealings with another gang.

NYD-H11 Energy Explosive
Wall-attachable bomb
Caliber: Very wide directed energy
Capacity: One shot

When you don't have the keys or you just have to take out that vehicle, this is the tool you need. Either with magnetic or pneumatic claws this plate-sized beauty sticks to the target and is one button-push from devastation. Rather than normal explosive, this baby shoots a ray of plasma based energy straight towards the surface it was stuck onto, guiding the force to the intended direction.

Tripod-installed heavy energy cannon
Capacity: 5 shots with a regular energy unit, 10 with the large one

This isn't something you see every day, and that is a blessing. Highly expensive but efficient deliver of destruction has rightfully earned the name "Shoop-da-Whoop" by its content users. It is too heavy to be carried, but it makes up for it with sheer force. Only the richest people can claim the right of owning one, and delicate self-destruction mechanism will keep it that way. You can watch, but you can't touch.

Mark 21 "Borg Killer" pistol:High energy, single shot, laser pistol designed to penetrate through 3/16 of alloy steel with a single pulse.

34 Lm pulse rifle: Standard energy laser carbine, modified to shoot a 3 round burst of laser energy. It has also been modified for a high capacity energy pod to produce 30 energy beams in 10 blasts.
