T'ka never liked the dining hall much. Too many people for her. And Haanyath was getting a little too big to be indoors anymore. Well, that was a little bit of a lie. Being a little small, even for a green, she could still fit in a lot of places her siblings couldn't. But Haanyath was more than a little crabby, and her being inside stirred up a lot of trouble. So T'ka tried very hard to be outside with her dragon as much as possible. To dissuade the moody green from coming indoors. And it wasn't much hassle. She loved Haanyath, and didn't really like people...it seemed a fitting thing to do.

T'ka sat on the grass, legs folded, plate in her lap. Haanyath lay curled up a few feet away, eyes half lidded as she looked out over the far off lake. Xythe and Daeok, T'ka's green and bronze firelizards, swooped above in aerial games, catching the little bits of food T'ka threw up for them every so often.

The sky was heavy, thick with a layer of pastel clouds as the sun started to set. "I'm going to need to go inside before too long Haanyath," T'ka admitted, not really wanting to leave her dragon.

<> T'ka was happy to oblige, and patter Haanyath's muzzle affectionately. It was these moments between just the two of them that Haanyath proved the most manageable. Sure, Haanyath was nasty as a wet tunnel snake sometimes...but...in times like these...T'ka really, really appreciated her strange little green. Though it wasn't something she had ever voiced to Haanyath. The two had a mutual understanding the affection was minimal, and gushy touchy feely stuff was out of the question.

Veyes pretty much had learned that people were creatures of habit and he knew that he'd find a place to eat and possibly nap outside in the bowl somewhere or by the lake. It didn't matter much as long as he was away from the majority of candidates and Weyr folks. So with a few meat rolls in hand he scampered outside and took a deep breath of the fresh air. At times the Weyr actually could be a peaceful place he thought as he started to make his way across the bowl and looked up at the dimming sky. As long as he was far away from the rest of the people...lately.

Usually, he knew where to avoid so as not to meet up with others but not today. Because this time as he walked close towards his favored quiet spot, he noticed another person and a big green lump not far...wait...that was a young dragon close beside her. Rarely, did he see the Weyrlings after they had impressed except for the occasional one that might show at the lake. He assumed most of them were to busy with Weyrling lessons or life with the new dragon to have time for casual relaxation.

He couldn't help but smile as he approached and his mind wandered just a little as he wondered what that world was like with a dragon at your side. Needless to say, he had many hopes about it but reality was mixed with the many other candidates that swarmed the Weyr. Chances weren't that high. However, L'thor was certain that he would impress one day; so much so that he already had started teaching him how to repair riding straps in hopes that future Weyrling lessons might be easier for Veyes. That was something the boy appreciated greatly and he had spent any free time he had afterwards drawing the straps and stitches in to the sands by the lake to remember how the whole harness worked.

Once he was at a point to walk on by the green and the girl, he smiled and nodded as he started to pass, " Nice looking lifemate you have there, " he said politely to the girl "You complement each other well...Congratulations" At least, he could say that much but he didn't want to intrude to deeply in their space considering his rock was only a short stone's throw away.

Kyllae cursed vehemently to herself. She just had to pick a spot where someone else would show up. She just had to. Not that she minded herself. She would be quite content to leave the lad alone. It was Haanyath that was the problem. Haanyath would be all over this. Already the green stirred a little, pulling her legs out from under her as she made to stand. <> T'ka requested, though she knew it wouldn't do much good. Haanyath was as stubborn as they got.

<> Haanyath replied, taking a step or two after the boy. Without warning, she nosed him roughly in the back, demanding that he stay put for inspection as she sniffed him over.

<> Haanyath informed. Before there could be any panic or odd feeling about such a nosy green, T'ka felt the need to inform the lad of Haanyath's intentions.

"It's in your best interest to just give her a minute,"
T'ka informed. "She just wants to smell you."

Xythe and Daeok, at the potential of a new person to feed them and play with them, went berserk, shrieking with abandon as they swooped and twirled a little above his head. Almost as if telling him just how excited and happy they were to see him. T'ka, seeing how exuberant they were, didn't have the heart to tell them to stop. She had a soft spot for flits.

Veyes stopped suddenly in his walk and glanced over his shoulder seeing that it was the dragon that had nosed him. He had doubted it would have been the girl but well you just didn't know sometimes. But then he heard her words and just had to smile.

He didn't panic at all in fact he seemed rather content to let the dragon nose around for "inspection". Dragons were most of the time more reasonable in their own ways comparatively to the way the human population of the Weyr had been treating him lately. "Its ok..she can sniff all she wants. I got a friend, whose a green rider and his lifemate's just a curious at times. Fast as the wind too." He smiled again as he briefly dreamt about the last time he'd been soaring high with Raith and L'thor.

Keeping his hands out of the way, he tried to be very polite as Haanyath sniffed not wanting to touch a dragon too intimately not knowing her or her lifemate. With Raith he didn't have to worry so much because somehow she remembered him as important even if she didn't always remember his name. So he tried to keep his fingers grasping his meat rolls out of the way of the curious dragon and now the excited flits. Even they didn't rattle him because he had gotten used to the 3 L'thor kept as well as Mal, his new roommate had one that liked to n** and bite at toes if he put them on the floor.

"You sure have quite a little family here...umm...my name's Veyes." he said realizing he hadn't introduced himself as he turned around letting the dragon continue her tour.

Haanyath finished her inspection relatively quickly, sitting down but keeping a watchful eye on Veyes. In case he should try anything funny. Casually, she scratched her head with one of her rear legs, looking more than a little disappointed. She had almost wanted Veyes to prove some kind of dangerous person. Or an alcoholic. Or...something. She was tired of meeting nice, ordinary people! She wanted everyone to see how amazing she was! And most ordinary people just passed by without much thought. Though she was pleased the boy had complimented her. She thought everyone should compliment her more. <>

Chuckling a little to herself, T'ka relayed the information. "Haanyath...she says it's okay for you eat here. But not to stay too long, because she wants to take a nap, and you'd be disturbing her." True, Haanyath hadn't directly said the last bit, but T'ka knew her dragon well. And seeing as the moody green didn't object, she assumed her assumptions were true.

Oh boy. Greetings and stuff. Hadn't she come out here to get away from people? Whatever. It was just one guy. A candidate. She would live. "I'm T'ka." Short. To the point. No sugar-coating. No 'nice to meet you' or anything of the like. Shards, it might turn out to be a lie if she decided she disliked him, so why bother? He would already know Haanyath's name...unless he hadn't been paying attention to her information...and if he hadn't been paying attention, she supposed he didn't deserve to know Haanyath's name.

Daeok looked ready to snatch a roll right out of Veye's hands, so T'ka decided it was high time she called them back. A stern mental word called the flits back, and with a few squeaks of protest and complaint they settled back onto her shoulders, both watching the candidate with curiousity. Daeok had eyes for the food, Xythe, for anything shiny that she could possibly steal. Xythe liked shiny things. A lot.

Veyes nodded slowly at Haanyath response given the situation, he guessed that the dragon had the right of way even if the lake was certainly big enough for more than just one little green youth. So he moved over to his normal spot on a large rock that wasn't too far but certainly not close enough to the dragon to cause any unwanted disturbance.

"Nice to meet ya T'ka and Haanyath." he returned with smile as he started to nibble on his first meat roll trying to keep an eye on the flits. But he knew that they'd be grousing for treats so while he work through one meat roll he tore off a meaty bit and placed it a short ways from himself so the flits could see it. It didn't appear he had anything shiny visible but the sound of the bag at his waist had things that clinked inside that were probably "Shiny".

Setting down his dinner for a moment he tugged at the bag at his waist so he could get inside. "Looks like you got a lot to keep you busy with a dragon and flits to care for." he said to T'ka as he pulled a short stick out of that same bag revealing a little view of the contents of glimmering baubles that were about flit sized....marbles. Pulling a few of the marbles out; he sat them on the dirt then started drawing something in the dirt around them with the short stick. Occasionally, he'd glance over at Haanyath and then look at the dirt and continued to draw.

Oh boy. She had a talker on her hands. AND he was enticing the flits? T'ka cursed her luck. Oh well. She would be sure to take her meal farther away next time.

Haanyath, not really caring now that Veyes was a a comfortable distance away, settled back down, though made sure not to forget he was there...in case he all of sudden decided to try something, or whatever...

It was important that dragonmen be nice though. Heck, they'd even taken the time to give them lessons on manners, so they could be respectable in public. It was important not to make people regret who they were tithing to. Even in the Weyr, she knew she was supposed to be nice to candidates. So as not to put them off from impressing. That meant she would have to be nice and talk to him...yuck. Oh well. She couldn't always avoid people.

She tried to smile a little, as she pondered what to say. "I'm no busier than I feel I should be," she replied. After all, no one said being a rider would be easy! And having two flits...well, you got used to it. Besides, the Weyr was perfect for them. Plenty of things for them to do, and not always be in her hair. The fact that she had any free time constantly amazed her. Not in the mood to fight against her flit's wishes, she gave them the go-ahead.

Daeok practically jumped the distance to where Veyes laid the food, his bright bronze body a blur in the hazy light of the setting sun. He crammed the morsel into his mouth, looking like a rodent the way his cheeks bulged. He quickly set about sniffing the area for any crumbs or remnants, always looking for new things to stuff in that mouth of his.

Xythe had no time for food, there were shinies! With an excited squeak, she swooped down to where Veyes had lay out the marbles. She came to a stop a foot or two away, looking at Veyes with swirling green and blue eyes, intensely curious. What were these oh so pretty things, and what was he going to do with them?

PostPosted: Thu May 14, 2009 8:37 pm

Veyes nodded just a little noticing that T'ka was pretty reserved for a Weyrling. Compared to some of the men he had met. Really, he hadn't encountered many females with dragons so maybe, well maybe they were just like that when they impressed? He wasn't sure but he at least tried to be friendly.

"Mm...ah...so have you learned how to make rider straps yet in Weyrling lessons?" he asked figuring that sticking to dragon conversation was the best thing to talk about although he had the distinct impression this girl wasn't much into talking. Well, in all honest, he usually didn't make big efforts to talk to many but he really was curious about Weyrling life...hoping that it was a lot more exciting than what candidate life was like.

Then a small bit of laughter escaped him as he watched the bronze cram the food into its mouth. What an amusing site to see plump cheeks filled with meat searching for more even before the first bite was swallowed. Veyes paused with his plans on the ground scrawled in the dirt long enough to tear off another bit of his last meat roll and tossed lightly in the direction of the flit before returning to his stick and starting again.

Veyes actually used his marbles to outline various prominent parts of Haanyath body on the ground in minature - location of head...shoulders, chest...etc. and along the area he had started redrawing riding straps from the private lessons L'thor was mentoring him through. He considered Haanyath's size and shape compared to Raith because L'thor had talked about the various adjustments that might be made to different dragons. His eyes drifted back over to Haanyath as he looked at her with a critical eye and then adjusted what he might have done in the dirt for the shoulder straps.

Of course to the flit, who knows what she thought as he moved the marbles then dragged the stick around them in the dirt.

T'ka shook her head. "They've taught us that and more. Shells, they teach us more in a day than I'd care to know it a lifetime." It was true, T'ka found a lot of the covered material boring. Haanyath was even more displeased. Things such as a dragon's anatomy were interesting for maybe the first hour...but got old quickly. Who cared how a dragon could breathe fire as long as they could breathe fire. The only things that were interesting nowadays were wing drills. There was nothing quite like it. And riding a flaming dragon? ...there was nothing quite like it. Exhilarating was putting it mildly. Even angry Haanyath found it enjoyable.

<>

<>

<>

T'ka chuckled to herself at her dragon's vanity, rubbing her eyeridges gently. Haanyath sure was a character. T'ka loved her for it. Despite Haanyath's roughness...T'ka was glad she had impressed such a different dragon. Haanyath wasn't like anyone else. Same as T'ka. They could be unique together.

Xythe trilled, peering over whatever the strange shape was in the dirt. Why...it looked like a dragon! Squeaking with excitement, she pawed at the air, babbling incoherently, as it trying to hold a conversation with Veyes. Shiny marbles and dragons in the dirt! This was a holiday for her!

Veyes had just made a new best friend. For if he thought he could escape Daeok now that he had fed him not once, but twice, he had another thing coming. Daeok snuggled up agains Veyes' side, whistling softly, adoringly. His eyes were a mellow, deep blue, half lidded. A flit grin split his face, as he leaned against the boy, quite content now that his stomach was full.

PostPosted: Fri May 15, 2009 10:38 am

Veyes smiled a bit more as he created a few more strokes in the dirt then glanced at Haanyath before adding another couple marbles. His lips pursed as he thought for another moment and adjust a line. "Mm...I bet it's far better than candidate lessons. I'd rather be learning what you are than hearing the same things about how to stand on the sands, or how to clean." He smirked some thinking that although she looked rather "tired" of weyrling lessons, she'd probably stand up for them over candidate lessons any day.

He took another bite of his meat roll eating rather slowly so he would make sure to feel full by the end of his dinner. Knowing if he ate to fast, he probably be wishing he had scrounged up a bit more and that would mean going back to the dining hall; something he'd rather not do.

"So what kind of things do they teach, Weyrlings?" he asked lightly as he started adding to the drawing trying to decide if the straps were setting right on the chest. It was harder to guess with the dragon laying down but he couldn't just ask Haanyath to pose; he wasn't quite like the artist that had drawn all the folks at the lake. This was more of a personal study so he could incorporate his lesson into practice.

Although, he couldn't help but look down at Xythe as she trilled with curious hands and chitters so cocked his head wondering what she wanted then glanced at his drawing then glanced at the flit. "Well, umm.. yes little flit, it's your companion but I'm still working on her straps because I don't think I have them placed right yet." He smiled gently at the happy flit and realized that she probably found his marbles as fascinating as Mal's bronze, Aeron.

Of course, not long afterwards he felt the thunk of a small body against his ribs and he peered down to see the other flit had turned into Mr. Snuggles. Ut oh! Boy, he seemed to spoil others peoples flits. But it always seemed to be easier to get along with dragons or flits than humans. Veyes briefly scritched the content little flit figuring that was a good sign that it was ok to touch for maybe a short moment. Then, he returned to the drawing not wanting to lose his place.

Hm, he had a point. The only thing worse than Weyrling lessons was Candidate lessons. Thank between that she didn't have to shovel Haanyath's droppings anymore either. Being Sr. Weyrlings wasn't so bad. She was just eager to be a full rider, and attend to more important things than lessons. Like...things. She couldn't actually say now what she would be doing with her free time. Probably ferrying that demanding cousin of hers over to Southern all of the time. But...T'ka enjoyed Southern. Shells, even Haanyath did. Whatever. It was no use contemplating on what she'd do with free time when she currently had very little.

"Everything you care to know and more. Riding straps, fighting on wings, flaming, anatomy, history, the whole schebang." It seemed amazing that after Candidate and junior weyrling lessons there was still more to learn...well, boy had she been suprised. The lessons were long and difficult, but what choice did she have? And besides...as long as she had Haanyath, she could deal with whatever they threw at her. As if sensing that she was the subject of T'ka's thoughts, Haanyath stirred and yawned, giving them brief audience to a mounthful of sharp teeth before she closed her mouth, blinking a few times sleepily.

<> T'ka rolled her eyes at her dragon. Haanyath didn't like flits. At all. She could easily have asked Xythe herself, but Haanyath didn't want any sort of associating with them. And hence, T'ka was made the middle man.

<> she asked of the flit. Xythe flashed her a mental image of Veyes' work, which she relayed to Haanyath. Haanyath grunted, though didn't seemed displeased. That was saying something.

<> Haanyath pestered, closing her eyes and breathing deeply, as she decided she might take a nap after all.

"Haanyath says to make sure you draw her in all of her beauty," T'ka laughed, smiling. That was Haanyath for you. Vain as any queen. Realizing that she might have just shown an uncalled for amount of emotion, she quickly lost the smile. "Kee an eye on your marbles. Xythe's likely to try and steal one if you're not paying attention," T'ka warned. It was true. She could see the mischief in Xythe's eyes, the longing. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea showing the marbles to her. She wouldn't rest until she had one, or had found something better. T'ka had a feeling she'd have to relinquish something of hers, beads or whatever, to placate the klepto lizard.

Xythe wiggled, reaching out with a hand, just to touch one of the marbles, before recoiling, as if struck. She stared at the polished little things, blinking a few times even as she wondered how to steal one. Just think how pretty they would look with all of her other shiny things! She had amassed quite a hoard by now, all buried deep in a bag in T'kas room. Beads and earrings and rings and shiny rocks. Anything imaginable, even a few pieces of gorgeous dragon shell she'd pestered T'ka for. A marble would look splendidly with all of those other things. Her tail tip swished a little, while the rest of her was still, as she tried to form a plan in her little flit brain.

Daeok crooned, enjoying the rubbing almost as much as he did the food. He wasn't like Xythe. He didn't need things to be happy, he just wanted people. Nice people with food in their pockets. That was heaven for Daeok. With a sigh, he closed his eyes as well, content to fall asleep snuggled next to his new friend.

Veyes wished he was learning the whole schebang rather than just hoping for the possiblility to arrive. It would have been a lot better than the same thing in and out that Candidate life seemed to consist of mostly. "Sounds like a dream come true. You and Haanyath are really lucky. Those lessons sound like they'd be a good foundation for dragon riders and their future."

A future he could only dream of sharing one day but it was rather nice to see that others could achieve that dream. He knew inside if he ever had that chance, he'd learn everything he could without reservation, however, his dragon hadn't been laid yet. 5 turns seemed like a long time but really in the grand scheme of things it would probably seem really short. "So you and Haanyath already get to practice flying? She looks like she'd be quite a competitor in a dragon race."

The dirt and marble image was noticeably a Haanyath resemblance with riding straps draw as if Veyes were planning out what he'd do if he were creating straps for Haanyath. His work seems more a study but it was a decent impression of the dragon and the straps. The marbles were placed in various sections...to portray various features of the dragon's body. It looked like he was planning out the buckles in relation to her mass. Where to put them so they wouldn't rub...Given time and practice, he'd probably have a good handle on strap design in theory.

Veyes smiled as T'ka laughed, "Ok, I'll make sure to give her special attention in my drawing." He fished out a very large spectacular marble that gleamed like a whirl of color from bright green to deep forest green. He set that down right at the drawn out rump so it could become Haanyath's backside right before the tail. "There, that should add a bit of detail."

"Oh, alright...Mmm...My roommate has a bronze that I gave one of my marbles to play with. I doubt I will ever see it again but late at night when we're both in our cots, you can hear Aeron rolling it around on the floor and chasing it." His eyes followed the flit knowing how eager it was as it's small hands shifted back and forth while its eyes stared at the marbles like they were the best things in the entire world.

Glancing down for just a second he realized that the other flit was fast a sleep. Veyes relaxed just a little more imagining what it might be like to have a flit of his own oneday. Mmmm...well, not all flits were as happy and content as Daeok because Aeron nipped fingers...toes...and was sometimes cranky. So maybe oneday, he'd have his own flit, but he hoped it would be an affectionate one. Ah...but that would take some time because he didn't have the marks to buy or the free time to scour the beaches below.

"I think your boy here is snoozing." he said gently as he finally leaned forward slightly to add the "buckles" to the drawing then glanced over at Haanyath to verify his choice in his own mind. He might never know if the spots were correct for Haanyath but this was all a part of the learning process.

"Feh. Maybe it sounds like a good idea, but it gets old rather fast. Most of it's common sense, but I guess they need to teach the basics to dimglows who don't know heads from tails." she rolled her eyes. Really, there should be some kind of intelligence test for the people going to stand. She hated to spend any amount of time around incompetent people. She had better things to be doing.

"Flying? Why of course, we're already going between." she wasn't that offended by the question. She got it alot from people who didn't know her or Haanyath. The fact was that Haanyath wasn't terribly large, though she was almost grotesquely muscled and strong, she was low to the ground, almost wher-like. People seemed to assume she was younger than she really was. Oh well. Haanyath was beautiful...in her own way.

"But yes, Haanyath is an exceptional flyer. All that muscle isn't just for show you know. And her size makes her agile. She's got all the flying ability of a blue, with the agility of a green." This she could say with honesty. Haanyath looked a little strange proportionally, but no one could doubt her ability in the air. Nasty as she was, she was incredible in the air. If she had been a blue or brown, she could easily have been wingsecond or wingleader. Oh well. T'ka didn't really want responsibility. She used to, but...that would mean less alone time. She would have to sympathize with people, and spend less time with Haanyath. As it was, she loved that on a free day, she could disappear with Haanyath for hours, and no one would notice she was gone. She had the freedom to go anywhere on Pern that took her fancy! Sure, she missed smithing, but...Haanyath was her everything. Her life. Her love. Her companion. If she could go back in time, she wouldn't do anything differently. Her life was, despite all her complainings...practically perfect.

Breaking T'ka self reflection, Haanyath inhaled particularly deeply, and snorted a little dragon snore, sounding quite cute. Something she never was while she was awake. T'ka would never say it, but her heart practically burst at that moment, with all her love for her dragon. Her Haanyath. Her darling green Haanyath. She could only hope that Veyes would impress, so he could understand this joy. Despite her roughness towards him, he seemed like a nice enough guy.

Xythe, after a few minutes of planning, decided that maybe it would be difficult to snatch a marble from his drawing. She really, really liked that green one he just put down, it was almost as pretty as her! But it seemed unlikely she could snatch it and fly up enough to get between before he could snatch her. Hm. She needed to improvise. She climbed on to him, clinging to his shoulder as she feigned interest in the drawing. She really had her eyes on the bag, that seemed her best bet at the moment. If she could just grab one out of there...maybe she could get away. Her eyes betrayed her excitement with a few flecks of orange mixed into the green-blue.

Daeok twitched a little in his sleep, eyes opening just a tad. Had someone...had somone mentioned him? He sneezed, still half asleep. Why was his human so far away? He wondered, almost completely having forgotten what he was doing here. Perhaps he would remember if he woke up a little more. Leaning from side to side, he tried to decide the best way to get back to his human. He didn't want to fly. That took too much energy, and he was awfully sleepy. Practically falling off the rock, Daeok tumbled none too gracefully to the ground, dragging himself sleepily back to T'ka, where he promptly curled up in her lap, head buried in the loose fabric of her shirt.

PostPosted: Sat May 16, 2009 12:24 pm

"Yeah. It probably does get old really fast but I'm guessing they're trying to make that knowledge second nature so you'll use it like instinct. But I agree, some folks can be dimglows. They don't even consider how much responsibility that life time commitment will be. They just want a dragon." he said and sometimes seriously wondered why dragons chose the partners they did. A few candidates he met he couldn't imagine as dragon riders but knowing his luck they'd become bronze riders and end up being in charge.

He grinned broadly as she spoke, "I bet flying Haanyath for the first time was the most exhilarting experience. I've only flown on a green but the speed was thrilling. I used find between a bit unnerving but ever since the lice came to to the Weyr, I'm rather appreciating it now." He had been fortunate that L'thor and Raith both helped with that because he couldn't fathom cutting his hair and then having to explain that to his mother if he ever got back to the farm.

"Hey, while your lifemate's sleeping you want to see what she looks like?" He tapped with his stick to the drawing in the dirt. "I put her straps on...well at least where I think they probably go just by looking at her. Can't say it's perfect because I don't know her that well. But maybe you could tell me if I'm going in the right direction?" He really did want to be ahead of his class if he ever became a Weyrling and figured his free time was better spent learning than doing nothing.

He twisted his head towards Xythe as she climbed to his shoulder and had to try to avoid laughing so as not to knock the flit off. He could see that her eyes were so intent on the marbles that he knew some sort of mischief was bound to happen although he didn't know exactly when it would start. Even so, the shinnies were such a tempting thing to flits it seemed.

Seemed to Veyes that T'ka had a broad range of personalities surrounding her from dragon to the flits. He wondered how she managed to keep up with it all as he watched Daeok drag himself across the ground and snuggle in to T'ka's lap.

Patience was a virtue. And despite some of her complaining and sincere or feigned boredom, T'ka practically radiated patience. It was what allowed her to see past Haanyath's faults and see the good in the difficult green. What allowed her to tolerate the antics of Xythe and Daeok, and to love and support her wily Candidate cousin.

She almost answered Veyes that Xythe had already shown her the picture, but she had the feeling that wouldn't be the most polite thing to do. So in the spirit of being social, she carefully set her plate on the ground, and carefully transfered Daeok into her arm, cradling him like a newborn, and stood up, making her way over to where Veyes was. Though her facial expressioned changed not when she saw his work, inwardly, she surveyed it with a mixture of suprise and pleasure. Why, it was indeed amazing! She doubted half of the weyrlings could draw up come up with strap designs for any dragon other than their own, particularly one as strangely proportioned as Haanyath. There was just one little thing she noticed, that seemed easily correctable.

She bent down, long legs folding easily underneath her and pointed to the area around her shoulders. "This is the only thing that needs adusting. You can't see it well on Haanyath now, because of the way she's curled up, but the base muscles in her wing are enlarged, and spread out more widely in the surrounding area. The strap needs to be a little higher up on her neck so as not to interfere with her manueverability in the air." Other than that, his drawing was very near faultless. The straps almost identically resembled those she put on Haanyath.

Xythe, trying to take advantage of the fact that her human was providing a distraction, made a mad dash for the bag, hoping to snag a marble or two. Unfortunately, T'ka saw the movement and with a deft movement from her free hand, scooped up the green and held her against her chest. For a moment, Xythe struggled, trying to escape T'ka's grip and push off of her human's chest. Quickly though, she realized she wasn't exactly earning any brownie points, and it was a losing battle. So then she went into sulk mode. Glaring about as if she hadn't wanted a marble in the first place.
