Just remembered some of these.

I dont like to clean my room, unless I'm alone and can do it my way (magickally). Of course I do it the mundane way, picking things up and putting them back where they belong, but there are also a few different magickal touches to do afterwards.

-Getting rid of the "vibes". Ever walk into a room that just feels dirty and wrong? Sometimes, negative vibes can linger around for days on end and collect until you -have- to do something about them. Heres how I do it;
1) Burn some Sandalwood, Lavender, or Nag Champa incense. Sandalwood is a very earthy scent thats used in many Asian temples to keep things grounded. Lavender smells peaceful, but also has cleansing notes. Nag Champas just special to me...It smells different to everyone and I've yet to find many people who dont like it. It's a very...nostalgic scent. Anyway, either leave it to burn, or waft the smoke around the perimeter of your room, taking special care over the doors and windows (think of what they're used for lmao).

2)This is gonna look funny, but it works. Take a broom, be it a normal one, or a besom reserved for things like this, and sweep out the corners of your room. Not only the corners of the floor, the ceiling too. Get those "cobwebs" out hehe. Sweep towards a door or window so anything that should get out, can. While you do this, play some upbeat music, something with a beat, or if you feel in the mood, ring a bell in each corner. Negative "vibes" hate loud music, and something about it makes a room feel rather peaceful afterwards. Just...make sure the music makes you feel good. Nothing that makes you angry or sad, something happy.

3)If youve got some of the incense left, go back over the perimeter, just to cleanse. Ta da! Astral Nasties are gone! Unless....you've got some serious issues...sometimes you have to do a bit more, but thats a spell for another day!

Another fun thing to do when cleaning is to cleanse and maybe cast a charm or two over a few things in the room. My biggest one are my bookcases. I lend out books, but I also take them off the shelves (poor little guys often never see the same place again) and store other important things on them. My bookshelves are kinda important to me, so I bless them.

1) Incense again, one of the above mentioned works great, or something that you like (I used dragons blood once, very nice). Waft the smoke over the cases (or whatever it is you want to guard).

2)Put the picture in your mind that you're gonna keep that place neat. If its something you can lend out, picture it always coming back to you. If its a computer, picture it running like it did on day one. If its a collection of Pogs, picture them always being found (remember Pogs you older crowd on here? They were awesome xd ).

3)Say a little something as you do this, to enforce the thought that things will stay in order. You'll find I wont write what I usually say hehe. I believe words in spells will have more meaning if they're your own. So...get that brain crankin and think of a little ditty.

Thats about all for room cleaning. Sage can be burned to bring a sense of peace and solitude to the room, but as its very strong, I suggest opening any window you can.

Also, if your parents dont like incense, dont push their buttons. The power of scent can be manipulated in a great many ways, and isnt always required 3nodding

OH! I nearly forgot, I wrote charm up there didnt I?

Here's one I got from a VERY awesome (and now expensive crying ) spell book.

Its called "The Seven Hathors Protection Charm"

Hathor, though an Egyptian Goddess of love, also could be employed for protection (specially if it was for the bedroom hehe). Each of the seven had a specific duty in protecting the charms bearer from evil spirits. Oddly enough, a variation of this charm is seen in the movie "Chocolat" (one of my faves).

You'll need

-Red Cloth to make 7 little sachets (bags)
-Sage, Rosemary, Basil, and Pine ground up into little pieces (though, herbs may be swapped out for others, thats just what I used)
-Thread, to tie each bag shut and to tie the bags together.

Basically, you cut out a little square, about 2 in by 2in, and scoop a little of the herb mixture onto each square. Think about how you wish to banish any harm or evil from coming into the house or room as you tie each bag shut. Tie them tightly, as they aren't to be opened again and need to last for a while. As you tie each bag to the other (in whichever way you can manage, I forgot how I did mine but it worked after a few attempts), say a blessing over each one, asking for protection.

The charm may be draped over a doorway, in plain sight or hidden. I've also heard of people tying them to the doorknob(inside the room). I added bells to mine, as its over a door that gets a little wind. Evil spirits hate little noises like that. mrgreen

Interesting! Instead of a bell, I clap three times anywhere I feel negative "vibes".

As for the music idea, brilliant! I like some screamo music, so I play that while I clean and after it is all said and done then my room feels 10x better.

There are times when I get these vibes in the apartment when I feel panicky, and I'll use a sage smudge stick to clear the air. Since I want those vibes out, I circle the sage in the air counter-clockwise, and I'll move in the direction of either the apartment door (which I'll open), or an open window, so those vibes would be sent out.

Also, sprinkling some sea salt and water will help clear the vibes, especially when you smudge or use incense, as you'd be incorporating all four elements.

What I usually do while doing these is say out loud what exactly I want to be cleared, what I don't want hanging around, what I don't want coming in, etc.

I do want to advise to PLEASE be careful while waving around a smudge stick. There had been cases where I'd wave mine around, and pieces of it would fall off while still smoldering. I have a burn mark on the pillow case of the cushion I'm sitting on now from the last time that happened. You can hold something under the smudge stick with one hand while waving it with the other, to catch anything falling from it. And make sure that when you're done with the smudge stick, to completely have the smolderings stamped out, either in an ash tray or an incense burner.
