hey my hunter is level 80 im full spec in survival. this other hunter said that im speced wrong. he says i should spec in bm. who do u think is right me or him?

Right now, Survival is still a very strong spec. BM used to be omgwtfawesome, but all that is left out of that tree is the awesome pets you can tame. But that's my own opinion.
If someone is telling you that you are specced wrong, don't listen to them. If they don't make a single suggestion except "you're wrong", they don't know their up from down.
My suggestion is to look at your spec and see if it works with your playstyle. I also look at places like Talent Chic to see what is popular and learn what talents are worth thinking about.

If all youre doing is questing and not raiding or doing heroics, BM is good as in 'easiest'. Your pet is a full on tank. If youre raiding or doing heroics, marksman or survival is better DPS. It totally depends on what you want to do.

Slap that guy. SV spec currently is top dps, followed by MM then BM.
BM as of 3.01(i think) is garbage. Even with the Es + LnL nerf you still dish out mad dps. Ive tried MM and had a drop of 300-450dps. My rotation might be off but meh. Just read up on EJ forums.

I'm currently MM because everybody is suckin' up muh aura. However, I'm at even with most DPS in my guild, including the SV hunters. thing is, because hunter is total faceroll, the most vital part of playing hunter is getting your spec perfect.

Its that kind of Copycat thinking that creates idiot cookie cutter specing. sad
I recently respeced my Beasty Beast Master Hunter to Survival to see what the fuss was about. To be honest The Dps is anywhere from 300 to 700 higher, however, I was pulling in 3000 dps as BM (your garbage spec) and did quite well as top 5 in 10 man and top 10 in 25.
I'm sure I might be able to squeeze out up to 1000 more dps from Survival if I really tried, but I am going duel spec and see if I can wring out another 500 dps from BM. I really liked hearing wow, I'm impressed, your BM rocks razz
Anyway, if you want quick easy Dps button mashing by all means go Survival. If you want keyboard dancing at its finest, roll with BM.
If you want to enjoy your character from now till the next patch, roll anyway you like best, and play to make yourself happy smile

I don't mean to be rude but top 5 in a ten man is last or second to last DPS, depending on your set up. Top 10 in 25 is not as bad however hunters can be top 5 in 25s so yeah.
