Naharia slipped away from her father's kingdom once more, her twin daughters safely in the care of their loving Aunt Kalliska. The thought made her smile. Kalliska, for all her hunter's skills and warrior heart, doted on Sitian and Nadasaya as though they were her own kits.
Nadasaya was a little too like her mother to follow Kalliska's warrior steps, but Sitian showed the potential of a great hunter, a powerful leader, and a formiddable opponent.
Naha pitied the males when her crimson daughter grew into the beauty she already showed the promise of.
But such things were thoughts for the Pride Lands, and for now, Naha was going for a walk... Or perhaps a run.
With a grin, she let her lean body stretch out in speed, easily racing over the free lands. Her destination was unimportant, all that mattered was the freedom she felt coursing through her veins.

 And yet it was another day in which the usually aircast angelic found himself drifting down from another air current, his wings slowly gliding him to a stop against the soft ground in which his feet carried him. This was becoming an irritant very quickly. He wasn't quite sure how he kept ending up on the ground. Pfft. A grounded angelic, how useless he had become...
Sighing, Jeinaige shook his head from side to side. He had become a relic, a lost soul only mirroring what he once was. Perhaps this was his fate, nothing but a guarded spirit, a deranged albeit strange individual who had nothing left to lose...

Naharia slowly drew to a prancing walk, breathing deeply of the playful breeze. It sang the songs of prey herds nearby, though she had no wish to hunt... It carried tales of fields of wildflowers, but she would enjoy their fragrance later.
How about a new friend?
She perked at the scent of another, casting her eyes skyward to catch his spiraling descent. An angellic! A rare commodity upon the Pride Lands, to be sure.. Usually they preferred their mountain homes, with strong currents and cool winds.
Eager to say hello, she trotted toward him. Cresting the hill, she paused, grinning as she called a greeting. It wouldn't do to get too close, just in case he wanted solitude. "Hail and well-met, stranger..."

Reveling in his own self doubts, as usual, Jeinaige wasn't awoken until the sound of another broke through the tangled webs of thoughts clouding his own judgment. Musing, before his head twisted around he tried his best to paste on the most pleasant expression he could though one could be sure it failed to miss the mark entirely, "Afternoon." He stated in quick tones, so quickly he had failed to actually look at her as the words left his mouth. Once he actually did, however, he gave a brief smile, trying to remember manners as he gave a stiff dip of his head in her direction. Again, the pain of his solitude just a reminder in the way he addressed those he came across. But that was the pain of one banished, wasn't it?

Naharia considered his pained expression with a gentle frown, taking a few steps toward him. She didn't like to see anyone unhappy, ever, if she could help it.. And while this stranger, was a stranger, that didn't mean he had to be unhappy.
"Call me crazy." She said in her most pleasing tone. "But it just seems wrong for an Angel to be so unhappy... Is there aught I can say to give you comfort, Oh Lord of the Sky?"
Land-bound or not, Naha was still a Princess.

Odd as it may have seemed, the female's reply actually caused Jeinaige to laugh, though a slightly rough laugh it may have been. "Happy.... perhaps for an angel who is more worthy than I." With a shake of his head, he let out a sigh. He wasn't trying to be rude, but the female was treading in darker waters than she realized. "I'm not exactly the most noble of my kind, Milady." He viewed her carefully as tendrils of his mane fell into his eyes. "And perhaps... nothing that can really be done about it. I am unhappy because I must pay a price for my sins, as it should be."

"It seems, out of character, for an Angel to sin." She pressed, continuing down the hill. He didn't seem like he was going to lose his mind and attack her, and even if he did, she was a formiddable opponent, female or not.
"And as I have the pleasure of calling one Angel friend, I trust myself to know." She gave a playful wink, stopping some paces away from him. She was kind, but cautious. "Care to confess, Lord of the Sky? Perhaps I can take away some of your troubles."

"Out of character?" The question in his voice rose as he watched her turn his back. He gave a shrug of his shoulders, letting his wings slowly stretch out before relaxing yet again against his back. "Yes.. but that is why many of them no longer consider me one of their kind. I am an outcast." Eying her carefully, he cast his eyes upon the sky as he watched the clouds shift forms up above. "Perhaps that angel is lucky, for I only have the sky to call a friend." He slipped his head in her direction before slowly following behind. "Confession isn't something I do very well. I prefer to keep some things to myself for it hinders judgments in some cases, for the worse or better."

She considered him very carefully, moving a few steps closer. A peculiar male, to sit there and beat himself up like that...
"You keeping things from me will just hinder my impression of you." She said with a shrug. "I will call you friend, even if I find you sulky and secretive.. Do you have a name, Oh-Cast-Out-Angel? I am Naharia, Daughter of Rellick who is King of Scarlet Shadows..."

He glanced at her carefully, "Rather it does or doesn't.." He stated while falling in sync with her steps, "..I believe that friendship and knowledge of another is to be earned." Letting out a slight sigh, "Honestly, its not really something I want to think about in the present circumstance..." Lifting his head he tried his hardest to avoid eye contact as she came closer to him. "Its a pleasure to meet you Naharia, Daughter of Rellick... I am Jeinaige, the Wanderer." Lowering his head slightly again, he finally let his eyes meet hers.

She smiled kindly at him as he met her eyes, the beauty of her soul filling her expression. Her father had always loved her smiles, when Naha gave her friendship, that was it. Until you broke her trust, you were stuck with her.
She wouldn't break that to her new friend JUST yet...
"Well met, Jeinaige the Wanderer, and welcome to the Free Lands..."

Jeinaige smirked a little but he couldn't help but shake his head slightly. The female was warm, inviting even, maybe too much so. Still... it was a welcomed change from the few other females he had met so far. Elizabeth was perhaps too fiery, and Manorama... was a little too kind. This female seemed like she might very well have a bite to her, which to Jeinaige was slightly attractive. Still... he wasn't about to think of that in any case.
"So then..." The words left his mouth just as he finally took a few steps ahead of her, "..You seem proud of your family, what are they like?" It was just about the only thing he could think of to ask as he wasn't much of a conversationalist.

Slightly taken aback, Naharia hesitated for a moment, gathering her thoughts. She was proud of her family.
"My Father is King..." She reiterated. "He is good, and kind, and strong. He has had many hardships in his life, including the loss of his True Love... But he carries on, for us.. My mother I do not remember, she left with my sister long ago. I have many half siblings, but I simply consider them brothers and sisters... I have two daughters that live in the pride, a product of my youth, but I would not take them back for anything."
A fiercely protective light flared in her soft eyes. Most of the time males turned tail and ran when they heard of her daughters, and she let them go.
"Sitian and Nadasaya are my greatest joys in the world."

"I see..." He gave a quick nod as she spoke, he himself wasn't quite sure what to think of her having children. Being that he was usually antisocial he found that more to deal with was a bit of a headache. It wasn't because they were kids, it was more because he hated dealing with too many others if he didn't have to. "Well, that's all that matters, doesn't it?" He tossed his head slightly, trying to get the hair out of his eyes as the wind finally picked up again to show its force.
He took another look at her before pausing as their trek finally came to a small waterhole. Sitting down, his shoulders became hunched as if the burden he carried was too much for him. "I suppose having a family must be nice.." His eyes shifted to the water, watching his own reflection as the water moved and shifted below the surface.

Playfully slapping the surface with a paw, Naharia basked in the gentle spray that resulted before considering him. "Surely you too have a family? Even if you left them behind, you have one.. You know what it is like to have someone who loves you..."
She couldn't imagine what he could have done to become 'outcast'.. Her friend Kaelian who was an angel had left his pride rather than become King or obey his overbearing sire... This Jeinaige? He seemed to think he had sinned...
What kind of family did he have back in the mountains?
