 Sophie trotted without a hesatant step into the vast space that was the south. Bright blue eyes were wide with the excitement of a new place, her ears catching every sound they could. Her toung lolled out of the side of her mouth as she panted, keeping herself cool against the heat she barley felt. The only thing concerning her was the packed dirt she happened to be walking on at the moment. Now her paws were going to be brown. Lovley.
Blue eyes found what she was looking for, cool grass, and alot of it. It would be the perfect place to cool off and lick her paws, which were driving her just about insane now. Most wouldn't notice but she could actually feel that they were dirty, and that bothered her. Sooner than hought, she reached her destination and she heaved a nice sigh before laying down in a spot she felt was good enough and began to very neatly, clean her paws.

 Lloyd was laying in a cool patch of grass. It was quite soothing to be off his legs; his joints had been hurting him a lot recently. He was about to close his eyes, as he rested his head on his paws, when he saw an interesting sight. A pretty pink female walked onto the grass some what near him and sighed. He smiled at her as he wondered why she had sighed. He soon put together what was bothering her when she began cleaning her paws.
He looked at her for a moment confused and then looked at where she had come from. She had been traveling on the dirt path.... Ah! That must be it. Her paws must have dirt on them and must be bothering her. He stared at her for a moment longer before chuckling.

Sophie paused at hearing a chuckling that was very close to her. She was mid-lick when she turned her head, the pink tip of her toung sticking out from between her white lips. Her blue eyes found the source of the laugh, a brown and tan, seemingly older helix. She emidiatly grined at him, her tail swishing in the grass. "I'm Sophie!" Her posture relaxed as she wited for his response. He seemed alot more at ease than Kashikoi, who had attacked her. But that wasn't his fault. She glanced at her shoulder where the healing wound resided. She was just glad it didn't hurt to walk any more.

"Hello Sophie." Lloyd said chuckling, "I'm Lloyd. I take it you don't like the dirt, do you?" He smiled at her and thumped his tail against the ground. He liked her happiness and her friendliness. He slowly stood up and stretched. Several of his joints popped causing him to wince. He then walked over to her and sat down. "So what brings you here? I don't think I've ever crossed your scent before." He asked. He laid down with a sigh of relief. The grass was so cool and the pain evaporated as he got off his legs. He looked over the pink female and noticed a healing wound on her shoulder. "Are you alright?"

"No, not really." She glanced down at her paws before looking back to the other helix, watching him get to his paws. "Its nice to meet you Lloyd!" Her smile became concerned as he walked over to her, but he didn't seem threatening, so she relaxed again. "I was bored. And feeling better." She smiled and nodded. "Yeah, my shoulders fine. It doesn't hurt any more. Are you okay? You seemed in pain for a moment." She tilted her head for emphasis on the question.

Lloyd chuckled and nodded. "Nice to meet you too Sophie." He said smiling, "Well that's good. And I'm alright. Just my old age and joints getting to me. They're acting up on me now that the weather is changing back to normal." He lifted a paw and scratched his ear. "Well I hope you're not too bored. I'd feel awful if you're not entertained enough here in the South."

"I don't think I'll be bored here." A smile flashed across Sophies face as she looked at Lloyd. "I just got here and I have already met you. Any way you are interesting." The wind blew lightly and it was cool as it brushed through her fur. "At least you don't let the pain get to you. You are really nice."

Lloyd laughed at what Sophie said. "Well when you put it that way..." He said smiling, "Thanks. I must say you're an interesting one yourself and nice too." He turned his head to face the light wind enjoying the cooler and fresh air. "Hm.... I must say I wouldn't be much of a host if I don't offer you anything. Would you like something to eat or can I show you anything?"

"Wouldn't your joints hurt if you walked about?" Sophie shook her head. "No, I wouldn't want you to cause yourself pain over me." She smiled. "I know, what do you like to do to pass the time?" She wasn't sure why she was asking this question, but it sounded like a good conversation for them to start. She watched as Lloyd put his face in the wind and smiled lightly when the sun gleamed off it and made it into a lighter coppery color. It was a pretty color...

Lloyd smiled and shook his head. "It would hurt at first but after I get moving the pain will go away." He said, "Thank you though for your consideration." He paused for a moment tilting his head to think. "The offer is open to show you around. As for what I like to do to pass time.... I personally like to play with puppies." He said chuckling, "Recently I've been spending a lot of my time helping out a friend of mine on her quest. Right now I'm taking a small break to rest my poor joints. What do you like to do?"

"Well if you would like to, and your really sure. Then yes I'd like to be shown around." Sophie smiled softly, secretly dying to walk with him, and she wasn't even sure why. "Oh, puppies are cute. I love it when they try to "fight" with you, but you just end up tickling a really squirmy puppy." She giggled at the immage created in her head. "Usually though I just like to look around and go places. Just for visits though, I could never stay away too long, I'd get home sick."

Lloyd smiled and nodded. "Alright. I'll show you around.I think there's a temple around here." He said chuckling, "Yes they are adorable when they try to 'fight'." He could picture that scene so well, he had played with Euterpe like that before. He slowly stood up again only his joints didn't pop this time. "I know what that's like. I used to travel all the time, besides helping my friend, and would get home sick. I stayed away from here too long." He looked towards the trees that were near where he had been laying before. "It'll probably be easier and quicker if we just go through the jungle. I'll try and steer you away from any mud."

Sophie stood with him, shaking out her fur and letting out a contented sigh as she streched. "A temple? Really? That sounds so exciting." Her eyes lit up like a puppies when its entranced by a good story. "Thats fine. You lead the way." She grined happily. "Have you been there before?" Millions of questions were bubling into her mind but that was the clearest one she could make out and so it was the one that was said.

Lloyd laughed at her eagerness and her almost childlike behavior (her asking questions already). "Yeah there are several abandoned temples here in the South. The humans rarely go to them now since they have to cross through the jungle to get to them." He said walking to the jungle edge, "I've been to one before. I don't think it's the one near here though." He entered the trees and immediately had to avoid some vines hanging down. "You'll have to watch yourself. Never know what we'll come across in here."

Sophie followed the older helix into the jungle, ducking down to avoid a face full of vines herself. "What was the one were you were at like?" She fired off another question as she stepped over something...she wasn't quite sure what it was. She looked around her, "You know, I have never been in a forest before."
