It wasn't long after meeting Jilan, perhaps a week, before Meirou decided to pay a visit to the High Priest the scholar had spoken of. With a newly paid allowance, Meirou packed her small purse with the prince's jacket, and headed off while Kanna worked. It didn't take her long to get to the udon-ya, which she passed in hopes of finding the bookstore her friend had mentioned.
The girl turned, finally finding the shop, and stepped in, projecting a greeting in case the High Priest, or perhaps some OTHER Porcelain, was there.
Is the High Priest here...? sweatdrop

A small bell over the door jingled to announce the Porcelain girl's entry; at the sound, the finely-dressed man with pale blue hair who sat behind the counter took his feet of of it, and smiled.
"May I help you?" he inquired, pushing his slightly tinted glasses up his nose with one finger- and then raised an eyebrow ever so slightly as he sensed her request for the High Priest. Aodhagan Whitestone was of course familiar by now with the status of his Porcelain employee, and nodded to show his understanding.
"Ah, he is working in there," the man told her, pointing to the wall beside him. "Go straight to the back and turn right. He always leaves the door back there open while he is working." The books stacked from floor to ceiling along the walls that separated the storage room from the rest of the shop insulated the small space quite well from sound, but if Meirou listened carefully, she might be able to hear the faintest sound of a french horn or trumpet concerto coming through the open door and the rest of the shop.

"Thank you." She smiles brightly, starting to walk out to towards the back of the shop in awe of all the books. Why, it was almost a mini-library! Meirou grins in pure delight of all the literature, but then pauses.
Music?
She listens to it, stopped as she tries to imagine the notes on the paper...And then she nods, having figured out the key for the instrument and walks to the back, peeking in to the room through the door.
Excuse me...

The shelves of the storage room are devoid of books for the most part, but are also completely free of dust. There are boxes sitting on the shelves in some places, which are in turn filled with books, but the vast majority of the cardboard boxes are in stacks all over the cement floor.
A vacuum sits on top of one of the larger boxes about a pace or so into the storage room from the door. A vicious yet imaginary battle is in progress with this great long-necked beast, as eager but quiet projections indicate when Meirou draws closer. Three Sorcerers are trying to capture the Gaian dust-sucking monster! Look, one of them is keeping it from sticking its tail into the wall, thereby preventing it from drawing more fearsome power!
As Meirou enters, the round face and caught-with-a-hand-in-the-cookie-jar eyes of Xiao Huo turn towards her, and his little story trails off for the moment. He projects a small hello, then glances back at Kouyo.
The High Priest himself is seated on the floor towards the end of the storage room farthest from the door, dressed in Gaian clothes and surrounded by piles of books and more boxes. A small cheap radio sits on a shelf within arm's reach, playing classical music at a soft but audible volume.
Kouyo looks up from paging through one of them and smiles shyly, closing the book and also offering his greetings to young miss. And he apologizes - he is not used to having visitors while he is at work, but he will do his best for her. "Does Miss require something of little Kouyo?"

Meirou smiles and greets Xiao Huo back as she steps into the room. Ah, so the radio is the source of such wonderful music~. She gives another bright smile, in wonder of all the books withing the boxes.
At the greetings from the High Priest, she bows shyly, sending a much more polite greeting back. "Jilan said that Kouyo worked here...And said Kouyo may be able to help Meirou with her puzzling arrival here in Gaia?" She spoke slowly, but calmly as she took out the Prince's jacket to let him see. "If it is not any t-trouble...Meirou forgot her gifts at home, so she is sorry." She stumbled slightly, projecting a tiny bit of guilt.

Since she is apparently there to talk to the grown-up, Xiao Huo stays out of the way, but stops his games to watch her anyway. Quietly, he listens to the conversation to try to figure out what the older people are talking about.
... It is excellent spy practice.
Young miss is a friend of Jilan's then? The High Priest smiles and stands, stepping closer as gracefully as he can when he has to make invested effort not to trip over any boxes. As she held out the jacket, Kouyo projects a feeling of sincere curiosity and reaches out to take it from her.
"What is this?" he inquires, unfolding the fabric to get a good look at the whole garment. "Is this yours?" Kouyo then asks a moment later. "And- what does young miss mean about gifts?" sweatdrop

Meirou giggles slightly at Xiao Huo's spying, but chooses to let him do so.
Ah yes. Meirou met Jilan when he arrived back to Gaia from the Silver World and heard her story of her arrival here from the Golden World. He suggested she come speak with High Priest Kouyo.
"This is the jacket I was left with." Meirou responds, nodding slightly. "A Prince, or...high ranking Porcelain, rescued me when a very odd wave swept me away. He left me in the Symphony Building with his jacket." She explained. "And gifts for meeting and imposing upon people." She projects a bit of sheepishness. Kanna had said it was polite.

The High Priest nods, his projections indicating his sincere attention to Meirou's words though his eyes are on the fabric of the jacket. He examines the jacket inside and out, allowing a faint admiration for the craftsmanship to show, and finally settles on the sleeves. Kouyo's brow furrows then, and he brushes his fingers over the writing.
"A Porcelain?" he repeats, looking up at the young lady again. "I am no scholar of language, but I do not recognize the script." It did have a look to it of writing, at least, to set it apart from the rest of the designs embroidered onto the fabric. "And you do not know that person's name?"
Inching towards the pair, Xiao Huo moves to the side a bit so he can attempt to sneak around Meirou. He, too, thinks the jacket is very pretty; he and his fellow secret agents want to get a closer look, for sure.
At mention of gifts, though, Kouyo smiles and shakes his head, laughing softly. "Do not worry about gifts," he tells her, then gestures to the mess of books all over the room, and down at his own Gaian garb, smudged in places with dust. "After all, I am not exactly receiving you as the High Priest should receive a guest. You need not be so formal." He appreciates her politeness, though - this Kanna must be teaching young miss well.

Meirou nods again. "I am sure it was a Porcelain who rescued me...In a fancy noble's boat of sorts." She smiled lightly. "And I don't...I thought he was the Silver World's prince to take me to my afterlife."
Secret agents? Meirou looks around, but only sees Kouyo and Xiao Huo. Are there more hidden around in here?!
"Kanna has worn off on me." Meirou mumbled, embarrassed lightly. "She says I have to be polite unless something goes wrong." Her caretaker's always so busy, though! Band doesn't come easy...
"Oh, and Jilan also said something about...Dragon Knight..Setsushi?" She looks up, unsure if she heard the scholar correctly earlier.

The High Priest's eyes focus beyond Meirou on something distant for a moment as he ponders for a moment behind walls. But then a faint smile forms on his lips and he extends his mind again to the young lady with a feeling of comfort and reassurance - how fortunate that young miss instead ended up here. Her time has not yet come, and she should have plenty of opportunity to learn interesting things here in Gaia.
He looks again at the strange symbols embroidered on the coat, then folds it carefully and hands it back to her.
Agents One, Two, and Three are all keeping an eye on the girl, Xiao Huo informs her with a sly smile. They all want information from her. Like... what's her name? He is Xiao Huo, but that is just a codename ninja
"Setsushi," Kouyo repeats, closing his eyes and smiling more. "Yes, he was the first of us to come here from the Golden World. I currently share house with him, though... I am not sure he will be able to tell you much more than I can about the jacket from your Prince." Not that the High Priest means to belittle the Knight's abilities, by any means - he is a skilled warrior and a very good man. But... as Kouyo has said, the writing is not Porcelain; he does not recognize it at all.

Meirou takes the jacket, projecting thanks for the help, even if Kouyo didn't understand it.
Meirou raises an eyebrow at the boy. She is quite sure there is not a reachable frequency, though she wishes it was, to turn objects invisible. While it exists, it's extremely difficult and requires much math.
"Ah, really?" She commented, smiling. "I suppose I need to find someone scholarly around here..Perhaps in the 'Silver World'?" Jilan had told her about that too... sweatdrop And sometime she'll have to meet Setsushi!

Invisible!? eek Xiao Huo toddles towards Meirou, hands outstretched as his eyes shine - she must help him find this secret!
"Setsushi is here, in Gaia. However, the Silver World- you mean the place Jilan has visited, yes? The little spy and I have been planning to spend some time there, ourselves... if young miss might like to join us?"
From what Kouyo has heard, the city in the Silver World is uncannily similar to the capital in Toukoku back in the Golden World. Which means that, should young miss like to study there, she will most certainly have no shortage of libraries and schools to choose from.

Meirou just said it's probably impossible! gonk But if she finds it, Xiao Huo will be the first to know.
"I'd love to~." Meirou hummed. "If Kanna says it's ok, of course."
Libraries?! Meirou rejoices at this. Plenty of books for her to read and study from! But schools....She's had some trouble with them in the past. sweatdrop Teachers never challenged her. Well, except for her parents, if you call them teachers....But perhaps she'll give school another chance.

The boy nods quickly, projecting that he understands... but is still obviously quite eager about the idea. His thoughts wander from following Meirou and Kouyo's talk of school to ponder what he might be able to do if he could be invisible....
Ah, and unfortunately Kouyo can tell her nothing of how schools are there, since he has not been there himself. Jilan seemed to enjoy his time there, however, studying on his own and at schools. And Kouyo assures her with a small smile that he will be seeking out libraries himself, for sure - if Miss is able to come, then he will be sure to tell her about all the ones he finds.
"I cannot promise we will have much luck in finding help to translate the script on your Prince's jacket, though," the priest points out. "The world is much like the Golden World from which the three of us and others were taken, however Jilan mentioned that the date there is after Toutei 1000...." Kouyo hesitates a moment, then continues. "What I have seen of it in my visions shows a world that has not changed much in three hundred years. The books Jilan and Setsushi have purchased there hold information similar to what we already know."
The High Priest then adds that a visit still promises to be an enriching experience. He keeps his worries hidden for the moment, however; Kouyo does not anticipate drastic danger, and continues to find reassurance in Jilan's safe trips.... But then tells Meirou, "We will all have to be cautious, but the more we learn there, the safer we shall be."

Ah, so Koyuo will be on his first trip as well? Well, misery loves company, and company loves more! Or, that's what one of Kanna's songs says. sweatdrop And what better way than to be library buddies? How wonderful~. So Kouyo loves books too? Is that why he works in a book shop?
"That is fine. The mystery will eventually be solved." Meirou chirps, still in good spirits. She nods as she listens to the priest's words. "So it's similar, but not quite. I wonder if there's any cultural difference..." She trails off, worried that the customs she knows may not be appropriate.
Well, as long as there is science to be done, Meirou will be still alive. She enjoys quoting Kanna's crazy songs very much! However, she stops at Kouyo's next comment. "That's....A good idea."
