"Hold still Vulcera," Zephyiote scolded mildly. "You do not want me to drop you, do you?" she teased. Vulcera babbled, smiling at the attention she was getting. She was held tightly in Zephy's hands, watching the scenery with terrified exhilaration. How exciting this was! "How are you holding up, Benvolio?" Zephyiote called over her shoulder. Her Avia apprentice was only a few wingbeats behind.

"Why Master I am doing swell! My feathers, my wings, they are holding up well!" he shouted enthusiastically. Zephyiote smiled. He was a bit odd, but...Benvolio sure was endearing.

"We are almost there. Be careful with that egg, now," she warned, her voice hinting at seriousness. Benvolio clutched in his forepaws the black egg of the clutch. The one that refused to hatch. Zephyiote was taking it here to keep an eye on it. She'd tried to help it with her magics only a few days ago. And yesterday...she could've sworn she saw it wiggle. She didn't want to let it out of her sight now.

Angling her wings as to make a descent, she was aiming for the general vicinity of Mya's cave. She could walk the rest of the way. Vulcera shrieked in a mixture of terror and delight. Zephyiote laughed. The landing was uneventful, she dropped the last few feet to the ground, landing with a soft 'THUMP' on the grass and leaf litter. And despite his clumsiness, Benvolio didn't drop the egg. Zephyiote took it from him, holding it with her tail so that she could walk unimpeded. She sheperded Vulcera in the direction of Mya's home, Benvolio bouncing behind with excitement.

"Mya!" Zephiote called."Someone is quite eager to see you!"

The call was like drawing a Coocoon Fairy to a flame, Mya emerged only a few moments after the call echoed across her empty home and she smiled happily at the sight of her best friend. Before she rushed over to embrace the Pan'lun, Mya turned around and poked her head back into the cave. "Dear child! Come here, my son! There is someone I would like you to meet." Without waiting, the cream-colored dragoness walked over to the trio, smiling down at the little child that was waddling towards the clearing of her home.

However, before Mya could welcome Zephiote, the sight of familiar blue/maroon wings made her heart stop. "Benvolio? Benvolio, is that you my son?" Oh, how she had missed him! With a loving smile (and with no offense to Zephyiote) Mya rushed over and pulled her loving son into an embrace. While she knew he was in safe hands under the tutorlage of the Pan'lun magician, it was normal for every mother to feel regret and sadness when a child left home. But, for now, he was back.

A soft rustling of leaves behind the mother emerged a slender young teenager, about the same size as Benvolio but with entirely different markings. Startling white against the green/brown background, Balint carefully took off the reading glasses perched on his nose and let them hang around his neck on a braided core similar to the one baring the scarlet gem glittering on his shoulder. He then cast a welcoming smile at his brother before bowing towards Zephyiote. Like Mya, he was not at all frightened by the Pan'lun different appreance; he was more curious as to why she looked like that but would no voice it. "Are you Ms. Zephyiote?" His vioce was soft and had this gentle, calming ring to it. "Im sorry for that but my mother has not seen my brother for so long." He smiled. "But....perhaps, if you would like, we can use this time for our introductions?"

Zephyiote took no offense at Mya's hurry to see her son. After all, she hadn't seen him in quite a while. Zephyiote was so proud of him. No longer the round little toddler he'd been when he first signed on to her, he was now a elegant, if still a little mispropotioned teenager. He had slimmed down a lot, though far from scrawny. He was well muscled around his upper torso region, and his neck had a particularly attractive curve to it. He woud make some girl painter very happy one day.

Benvolio hugged his mother back. For shame, he had almost forgotten what she looked like! She wasn't as big as he remembered...or maybe that was because he used to be smaller? "Oh mother mother!" he cried, rubbing his head against her neck. "I missed you so, you know. But I've learnt so much, there's so much to know!" He was happy to. He had blossomed well under the Pan's tutelage, his musical ability was more than exceptional, he was something of a prodigy. He was sad he hadn't thought to bring an instrument with to show his mother. But that was trivial, he was happy just to be here, with her.

Zephyiote turned to the other Avia teen adressing her, presumably Benvolio's brother. "I suppose I could be a Mrs. Zephyiote, but please, that is terribly formal. Zephyiote works just fine," she smiled, giving him a courteous nod. "You already know your brother, of course, and this is my daughter, Vulcera." Vulcera, as if recognizing her name, paused from sniffing a beetle on the ground, and looking up, mouth open in a huge grin as she looked at Zephy at then at the white painter she was talking to.

"Ba!" she declared, looking overly excited. Zephyiote laughed at her daughter's excitement, giving her a little nudge in Balint's direction, encouraging her to go socialize.

"So, young Avia, do you have a name which I can adress you by?"

Mya simply held her young son close, admiring how much he was starting to look like his handsome father. Nuzzling him one more time, the mother pulled away from Benvolio. "You must tell me what Zephyiote has taught you, my son. Your mother wants to hear of your adventures..." She chuckled softly. "And I would hope that your tutor didn't cast any experimental magics on you as well?" Myas' eyes sparkled with a great deal of mirth as she cast a side glance at her good friend. Although she knew Zephy would do no such thing, Mya couldn't help but playfully poke and prod.

"Zephyiote...." Balint let the name linger on his tounge before he nodded with a soft smile lingering on his lips. "Alright. I shall call you that from now on." He then glanced down at the firey hatchling investigating one of the many six-legged creatures living around their home. "Vulcera." He chuckled and nodded at the little one. "It's very nice to meet you." With a quick wave of his wing towards his brother, the young healer started at the sudden "Ba!" so soon before the Pan'luns' question of his name.

"Well...Your daughter got the first part of my name correct. My full name is Balint." He glanced up at Zephiote just as his mother let in a polite interupption.

"Why don't we head over to the clearing and talk more there?" Mya motioned towards the large space beyond the bushes. "And i'm sure little Vulcera would like to meet Ola as well."

Benvolio wiggled excitedly. "Oh mother, I've learned so much! My head is very near bursting with stuff! Oh t'is a shame, a misfortune you see, that I failed to bring an instrument with me." He blinked a few times at the notion of Zephyiote experimenting on him, and chuckled. "Oh mother, you jest, you jest. Zephyiote's very kind, you and she are the best!" her added.

Zephyiote liked the name Balint. It had strength in it. "Yes, let us go. Come on you," the last part was directed to Vulcera. The little avia waddled rapidly to keep up with her mother, almost losing her footing once, but catching herself before she fell. She was getting better at walking all the time! And she was so proud. She fanned her little wings as she walked. Now if only she could fly! Then she could be just like her mommy and her daddy, and her big brother Benvolio.

"Would you like to meet Ola?" Zephyiote asked Vulcera. Zephyiote wasn't sure who or what Ola was, but since Mya offered, Zephyiote was happy to let Vulcera socialize. Vulcera squeaked and bounced a little, patting the ground excitedly with her forepaws.

"Pa pa pa!" she declared, running in circles around Benvolio's legs. Benvolio chuckled and patted Vulcera on the head.

"Mother, tell me, what were we like as babies?"

"I know, my beloved son." Smiling at the dragon as they walked, Mya cast a small glance down at the firey spark of a child running among the group before looking back at her young son. "Well..."

As she pondered a good answer, and as the group stepped over the boundry into the waterside clearing, a whistle sounded from a large, leafless oak that served several purposes in the home. One was a boundry marking...the other, a home for the mutliple familiars that had bonded with Mya and her family. However, the only familiar occupying the branches was a small Mimicgryph; with another whistle, blue wings carried the creature over so she could perch on Balint. The two stared at each other for a moment...then Ola broke the silence.

"PUPPY!"

Balint bowed his head as Ola stared at Vulcera, repeating the word "Puppy!" every few seconds. His friend was just too....hyper at times.

Mya chuckled and motioned towards the bird creature. "This is another member of our large family. I would introduce you to everyone but they seem to have gone off elsewhere." She cast a side glance at Benvolio. "Im sorry that your father isn't here. I think he went to give your sister hunting lessons this morning." She then turned towards Zephy as the Mimicgryph flew off of Balint's shoulder to investigate the red hatchling. "I would have liked to meet my mate, but as I had said, he seems to have gone off elsewhere for the day. Im sorry."

Zephyiote laughed at the appearance of the mimicgryph. Vulcera went wide eyed and batted at the air with a forepaw. What was this strange feathery thing with so much energy and such a loud voice? "Puh puh?" she questioned, the harder, more solid sound of 'PY' being too much for her young, inexperienced tongue. But she could pronounce the first part of 'puppy' just fine.

"No need to apologize. I think it well that your mate is teaching your youngling how to hunt. Unfortunately...I haven't gotten around to giving Benvolio lessons in that," she admitted with a shrug. Though she didn't feel terribly bad about it. At her home, eating meat was very rare, they simply didn't have much need to go and hunt things. Besides...Benvolio was so cute and sweet. She had a hard time imagining he would make a very good killer. "He's an excellent fisherman though." That she could admit with confidence. Benvolio was quite good at catching fish. But, he didn't like to hurt them, so he usually let them go. It was cute, in a weird sort of way. Her innocent, harmless little Benvolio.

Benvolio sidled up to his foster mum, rubbing against her chest. "It is okay that Anaya and Father are gone. It just means we will have to come again soon!" he chirped, sounding quite pleased. Besides, with just his mother and brother, he would have more time catching up with them. Having too many people here might be a bad thing, because he wouldn't get enough individual time with each of them. No, he liked this.
