 Starting our very own Porcelaintown in Gaia! Here you will find information on the houses around the udon-ya.
They are all suitable places to RP in the main shop thread.
Furthermore, your character may wish to visit one of them later,
and it'd be a good idea for everyone to have the same floorplan
in mind, right? 3nodding Adding your house If your character has a house in the neighborhood (it's displayed on the map on the front page of the shop) I'd love for you to send me some information on your house so people don't get all confused when they RP a visit.
Add or update information on your house by posting to this thread. Be sure to include the basics: Owner, Residents, Pets, Affiliated threads, Floors, and Rooms. Then, a further description of what's in the house will be handy -- whose room is which, what sort of items are stored where, and so forth. Floor plans are even nicer! An included image will be linked in the post by a 150 pixel-tall thumbnail.
You can request for Setsushi to draw a pseudo-isometric "doll-house" for your house like he has for the udon-ya, but this is back-breaking labor and he'll only consent if he's in a masochistic mood. A healthy tip would be appreciated, too. gonk If you wish to update the information, delete your old post in this thread and post a new one so that Setsushi doesn't get all confuzzled.

Though the dilapidated little house Setsushi bought months ago has been repaired and renovated a bit, it is still a bit shabby and extremely cramped.
The main room downstairs is divided into a living and a "shop" area by a folding screen. The living area, which takes up roughly a third of the main room, has a tattered old loveseat given to Setsushi by Yaruka, a small nightstand, a bed just long enough to accommodate the tall night and tall enough for a small Porcelain to crawl under, and a chest of drawers. Various possessions are stored here; Setsushi's assorted book collection under the bed, clothes and living supplies inside the drawer, a sword stand displaying Slender Snow on top of it, and various other items arrayed into neat piles.
The "shop" takes up the other two-thirds of the room. The tiny kitchen area is made even more cramped by the abundance of skillets, saucepans, larger pots, teacups, utensils, and other miscellany. The refrigerator barely has room to store anything but supplies for the udon-ya (family meals thus tend to be rather repetitive and boring at this house.) The cabinets under the counters are also crowded with supplies, including a huge collection of tea tins of various types. There is only one table inside now; most customers are served at the more roomy and comfortable outdoor tables.
The new attic is accessed by a trapdoor, to which is attached a ladder. Rika lives up here; accordingly, the room is crowded with her scholarly paraphenalia and interesting specimens she has collected, sometimes spilling over from the shelves onto her small bed. Her furniture is all GAEA, carried up and assembled by Setsushi; a small bed, a desk, some shelves, and a small chest.
Though cramped inside, the udon-ya has quite a bit of yard. There are usually two tables outside at which the guests normally eat. Since Kouyo moved out, the dandelions were ruthlessly exterminated (though they may occasionally spring up anew.) In the front yard there are some purple hyacinths given to Kouyo by Tsubei and planted by him while he lived here; there are also some square dirt plots, though nothing has been planted in them yet.
Setsushi only cooks udon for one or two hours around lunchtime, depending on how many of his neighbors stop by. He works most mornings and some evenings at the Jejune June café. He is usually home by six o'clock or so and sleeps by nine o'clock.
... Which is why the addition of the attic was so important, you see. Unlike clockwork soldier Setsushi, Rika keeps very strange hours; one cannot reliably predict when she will wake, as it depends more on her workload, her mood, the weather, and how much caffeine she has ingested than the time of day. When upstairs, she is sleeping, studying, daydreaming, or lounging around; sometimes she leaves the udon-ya to go shopping, cruising the marketplace, or visiting friends, but she has no day job and likes to stay at home.
