There is use of the sebald code in book 12. Look on page 67. It's very hard to miss.

On page 67, the Code says [SPOILER IN WHITE]"I can't tell if you are in or enemies please respond" There is currently a debate on what he means and if it is Frank or Ernest in the Spoilo-book thread over yonder.

Basically it's a code used to communicate between volunteers. It starts and ends with the word "ring" and (people please correct me if this is wrong) you use the eleventh words starting from the first word after the ring.
