Water field
Five large platforms float on the surface of the deep pool, four forming a diamond formation around the single platform in the center. While land pokemon can move around on this field, it was mainly built for water-types. Rules prevent the freezing of the water. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to WATER type attacks.This field also reduces damage from FIRE type attacks by 25 HP

Since his trainer had given him a free day, Helium decided to partake in his favorite sport: haunting the gym arena. But today was one of the days he particularly enjoyed. Days when his trainer would send in random people to challenge him with his own teammates. Those days were always quite interesting since he could determine his own ranking within his trainer's group even though it was a different trainer handling the pokemon.
The gastly chuckled to himself, waiting for his challenger to appear while carelessly floating between the bars of the railing in the trainer box.

At Roise's insistance, Cab had finally gone to the local gym leader to borrow a pokémon and get some actual battle experience. She marveled at how soft the persian she had chosen looked, but knew better than to try petting her again. Cab didn't know if it was personality or just being around an unfamiliar person, but Pinkeh had not liked being petted.
As Pinkeh took a graceful jump onto one of the floating platforms, Cab got into her trainer box and began wondering how much of a disadvantage it would be for Pinkeh to be so grounded against what she assumed was her opponent. She began mentally eliminating certain attacks which would have no effect against the lipstick wearing gaseous form.
"Well... we're ready," Cab said after spotting Pinkeh's impatient glance up to the trainer box.Pinkeh

Cab watched Pinkeh tense her legs, about ready to spring with or without Cab's direction. "Use Night Slash, Pinkeh," she directed. She worried though... if Pinkeh decided not to obey and use some other attack? What if it was a normal attack?
Fortunately for Cab, Pinkeh decided her temporary trainer's advice was wise. Jumping from platform to platform until she was closer to Helium, Pinkeh's claws began to exude a deep violet light which trailed behind her as she picked up speed for an amazing upward leap.Pinkeh

((No problem, it's always fun to RP with new people x3 ))
Helium managed to float backwards in time to avoid a major critical hit but a faint mark from the Persian's attack remained on his face. This did not please the gastly at all.
"Oh, NOW you're going to get it litterbox!" Helium said with venom in his voice. The gastly's eyes glowed green as a green light also enveloped the persian. The green energy around the persian tried to tug away the pokemon's energy, sucking it towards the gastly.

A cat always lands on her feet and Pinkeh was quite pleased with herself and feeling much more included to listen to Cab. Her only response to Helium's taunt was as smug a grin as she could muster.
Across the arena Cab could be heard giving a whoop of delight, she was very impressed with Pinkeh's grace. When the green light appeared she leaned as far forward as the bars would let her. She watched Pinkeh hiss, her ridge hairs going up as she seemed to try and wriggle her way out of the light, but to no avail.
"Well," Cab said, speaking to herself. "We don't want that to keep happening." She called to Pinkeh, "Better put him to sleep with Hypnosis."
The angry slits of Pinkeh's eyes turned dark and then white rings began to pulse within the dark in a rhythmic fashion while she tried to hold Helium's gaze.Pinkeh

((Yup, and the result is...YOU FAIL :B ))
Helium knew what move Pinkeh was attempting to do as soon as her eye color changed. The ghost pokemon was quick to disappear into the air, temporarily lifting the effects of the gigadrain attack.
But the ghost pokemon soon reappeared behind the Persian and the green glow once again surrounded the cat pokemon, sucking her energy towards the haunter.

Cab tsk'ed when Helium failed to fall asleep. "He'll be back at full life at this rate," and she mentally crossed off Dream Eater for now. "Better hit him with another Night Slash." It had been effective once before and would perhaps give her time to think of another strategy.
Pinkeh swatted the green energy in annoyance. I'll rub that painted face of your in the dirt! she screeched, her cool, smug composure breaking with surprising ease while her claws lit up again.Pinkeh

Helium managed to pipe in before retreating from Pinkeh's claws but once again getting a light scratch.
The green glow surrounding Pinkeh pulled at the Persian's life force even more vigorously to try to return to Helium and heal the new scratch.

Pinkeh's fur raised in anticipation of the energy this time around, and she was momentarily stunned when nothing happened. As easily as her calm slipped away, it returned when she gained the momentary upper hand.
"Let's keep going with what works, Pinkeh," Cab called to her. With a feline grin, Pinkeh tensed her claws, feeling the dark power sink in for a moment before reaching out to strike Helium again.Pinkeh

Pinkeh managed to yet again land another hit and when his wounds began to bleed, Helium decided to settle for an alternate tactic.
After he gracefully floated out of the way of Pinkeh's attack, he continued to move around erratically in front of the Persian's face, using a swagger attack to confuse the Persian.

((Swagger is special because I only chose to inflict the "confusion" part of the attack instead of the "raise your opponent's attack" part since you can only choose one effect of an attack :3 ))

Pinkeh watched closely this new tactic, perhaps a little too closely as her head began to spin and her eyes glaze a bit. She twitched her ears and tried to remember what she was going to do. Oh yeah, the random trainer hadn't said anything yet.
Cab was hesitating. She wished there was some way to know of an attack that Pinkeh was so confident in that she could do it with her eyes closed. Or could do it while confused. Alas.

Unfortunately for Helium, the night slash had connected once again. The ghost pokemon was starting to get quite annoyed of the litterbox that was repeatedly scratched his face. It was his FACE. It was sacred. No cat should defile it.
Helium's eyes flashed green once again as he pulled to drain Pinkeh's HP once again.
