Tykier walked down to the juice bar near his house. He heard this place was good, but didn't get to go until now. Promising his guardian that he would be good and not make such a terrible fight over there.
When Ty got there, he went into the cool refreshing room where there was a bar, and tables everywhere, and the theme was Hawaiian.

Shane lead Espen into the juice bar as well, after a long day of searching for some sparse materials to make up a room for him. So far there was just a mattress and dresser in the van (until now, Espen had been sleeping on the couch in the basement), but it would have to do until another day when they could get more space in the van for decorative furnishings. Still, Espen had been throwing a fit about him not being able to bring back something for the others at home, and since was thirsty himself, decided that everybody else in the world must be thirsty too.
It was a rather hot day out, and so Shane didn't object this decision too much, except for when he saw the prices of the drinks. Still, he could afford some small sized drinks while he was here, and maybe use the time to sit down and get to know Espen a little better. With this in mind, he decided to take a seat by the window looking out over the sidewalk and place an order.

Tykier sat at the bar, and ordered a Tiki Wiki shake. When he finally got it, he picked it up with his clawed hands, and took a sip of it. He smiled as the fruity flavors of the island trickled down his throat.

"So Espen, what do you want?" Shane asked as they sat down at the bar next to a strange looking boy with one eye. Espen looked him up and down at the boy for a while, before turning back to Shane.
"Chocolate." Espen said.
"Umm, they don't have that here." Shane chuckled "This is a juice bar, not for milkshakes, you'll have to get something with fruits."
Espen made a face. If only he had known that this place had vegetables he would've stayed far, far away. What kind of stupid place didn't have chocolate drinks? Well, he was stuck here now, so he thought to himself what could be the closest thing that he could stand.
"Leminaid o stwabwee den," he decided with a face of utter displeasure.
While Shane ordered a strawberry lemonade for Espen and other various concoctions, Espen looked over at the strange boy again.
"What type is that?!" Espen demanded to know, as he scanned the boy's drink curiously.

Tykier just sat there, aloof, drinking his fruity drink. He didn't pay attention to the kid who was asking what the drink that he had...
He took a long swig, sat the empty cup down, and asked for another one. But this time, he asked for veggies on the side.
When his order arrived, he took a celery stick into his hand, and chewed on it.

Espen gasped at the fact that this boy had to eat celery here!
"Ew!" Espen exclaimed and glared accusingly at the server who brought him his drink "Don make 'im eet cellwee if he dun wanna!"
Taking a sip of his own drink, and then turning to face the boy again with a grin, Espen pushed his drink towards him.
"Dwink dis! Is bettah den cellwee!" he suggested.
Shane was shocked at how quickly Espen could waste his hard-earned money to hand off drinks. He wanted to explain to Espen that some people liked celery, but then remembered that he had already tried that conversation at home a couple of times, and every time resulted in him thinking that everybody was crazy.

Tykier just sat there. Looking at the kid, and sighed, "I don't need a drink, kid... I want to eat this... And besides. I already have a drink..."
He took a sip of his delicious shake, and smiled a little, but not in disgust, just in 'I'm gunna eat you if you don't shut up' look.

Espen rolled up his upper lip in disgust
"How de heck d'ya eet vedgitables?" he asked in curiosity, if there was some magical way of enjoying green food.
Espen couldn't really read the other boy's expression, but Shane could and he didn't like it. He grabbed Espen's stool and swung him around to face him.
"Espen, don't talk to strangers." he scolded, "He wants to be left alone."
Shane then shot a look back at the older boy that was both apologetic and a bit of a threat to also mind his own business and not touch his kid. He then started packing up the other drinks that he had ordered into a weird looking container with a lid that almost looked like an old milk bottle crate.

Tykier continued to eat his celery, tomatoes, and broccoli. He was getting real tired of Eve being pregnant. She kept on whining that she was being nauseous, and going to throw up.
He looked over at the little kid again. Maybe I shouldn't be so hard on the little guy... Tykier, then, started to speak, "Hey... I'm sorry I was rude. It's just I'm having troubles at home, and I can't help it if I let them out onto someone else."

Shane still didn't want the older boy to talk to Espen if he was going to act out on him, but he decided to let events play out naturally. Perhaps Shane just had the wrong impression of the boy, it wouldn't be the first time he'd done something like that. Instead of saying something, Shane just nodded and got himself prepared in less of a rush now, while Espen inspected the boy again while Shane wasn't looking.
Again, Espen couldn't stand to see somebody eating vegitables when there was a perfectly good sugary drink in front of him, his[ sugary drink too at that! How could anyone refuse?
"Common! Ya wanna tryeet?" Espen coaxed the boy to take a sip of his drink with a smile "Is goooooood!"

Tykier laughed a bit at the little kid's persistence for him to try his drink, and not eat the vegetables. Tykier smiled at him, warming up to the kid, "It's okay... I'm fine. I have my own drink." He holds up his shake, which showed bits of strawberry, and other various fruits like starfruit, and mango.

Espen was hurt at the fact that somebody could refuse his kindness and he tapped his clawed hand on the table impatiently. Then, slowly Espen picked up his drink and slid over to Ty and made to pour it into his cup, but Shane saw what he was trying to do and beat him to it. This kid looked almost ready to snap, and probably couldn't handle one of Espen's antics. Snatching the drink out of Espen's hand Shane signaled for the server to put it in a smaller cup to go.
Shane turned on Espen when he began to hiss furiously at him, with wild eyes and a raised claw.
"What did I tell you about listening to people?" he said sternly and pointed to both the drinks "That's his and that's yours. He's happy with his own. You wouldn't like it if somebody put spinach-prune juice into your milkshake would you?"
Suddenly, the empathy returned to Espen's face. He'd never thought of it that way, and the boy did look...content with his own drink. Espen was only trying to be nice, but it seemed that he maybe should've thought about being nice to his guardian as well. He didn't say anything, but Espen's face looked apologetic, which was good enough.
Espen didn't want to leave just yet though, so he sat down on the stool and reached for a drink that wasn't there, realizing that he was still thirsty. He didn't want to face Shane again, he was too ashamed to ask for his own drink back, and knew that he wouldn't get it anyways. So, a strange thought crept into his mind and he peeked over at Ty's drink. It didnt' look...that bad.
"Umm...canni twy som?" Espen asked, in his softest voice, not quite believing the words that were coming out of his mouth.

Tykier looked at Espen, and laughed a bit, "Sure." He slid his Tiki Wiki shake over to the kid. "Here, how about we both try each others drinks."

Happy to be finally getting his way at a price, Espen waited until the server came back with his drink and asked for it to be given to Tykier while he got his own straw to test out the other boy's drink to see if it was indeed as good as he was making it seem.

Tykier placed his straw into the new glass, and took a sip. Wow. It was so good! These bartenders knew how to make a good strawberry lemonade! His eyebrow rose. He looked at the kid, not stared! Looked. He smiled, "That's very good!" Ty laughed, "So, what's your name?"
