"...And don't cause trouble for Conrad-san, you hear!? And remember to be kind and courteous to his boy, you are meant to make friends with him, not enemies!"

"Yes, I know, sheesh!" was the last thing Alin sighed before exiting from his home's front door and stumbled down the few stairs to the garden. It was just his luck, again, since he only -deep sigh heaved here- wanted to be left alone, please and thank you. After all, all he was good for was hurting others... So... he was 'meant to make friends with him?' what a bunch of utter stupidity...

With this and several other thoughts fighting one another inside his head he finally arrived to the place his mother told him of, he had the adress scribbled over a receipt so he wouldn't lose it. It was tugged deep in his pocket. He was sure he wasn't wrong.

Alin took a few moments to look around him. He didn't know what Conrad looked like, he had never met him before. He didn't know that kid of his either and even though Katrin said they were hard to miss, he wasn't quite sure where to look.

Kaoru tugged on his hat, nervous. Earlier, his daddy had told him they would be having a guest, a boy his age coming over, a magical child like he was, which made Kaoru happy since he had met few children who were, and even then couldn't call them friends. He sat at the table, watching the front door from the where he was sitting, wondering what the child would be like. Would he be quiet, mean or whiny? Shy? Before he could think of anything else, he heard a knock, and watched as his daddy answered the door for what appeared to be a white haired boy.

In the kitchen, a man could be seen digging through his refrigerator looking for ingredients for that nights dinner, every once in a while peeking over the door to look at his son. 'He looks excited.' Conrad thought, chuckling. He had invited a boy over, the child of his boss to be exact, in hopes the two would make friends (that and he had been swayed by his boss story) A bit more time passed in which he made dinner for the three of them, when he finally heard a knock at the door, he answered it first, nearly giggling at his sons pouting face. He opened the door, letting the boy in. "Kaoru, this is....well...he's going to be your playmate."He explained. He knew his son was delighted, but he wasn't too sure the other boy was. 'I hope it does.' He thought.

The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair... the line was from some book Alin was reading the other day, though he couldn't recall which.
He flinched at Conrad's words, sure that this was already hapennig to him. His mother didn't ever concider that anything could go wrong if he spent an evening with some guy from her work, yet... he was almost one hundred percent sure that he would regret it.

Looking over at the boy with the oddly coloured hair he heaved a deep sigh and sook his head. Emotionless eyes lingered for several moments against the other's features as if he was trying to guess what he was thinking. At last he tugged either hand in the pockets of his jacket and doing as much as a barely noticeable motion of the head he introduced himself.
"I'm Alin." he simply stated, not knowing what else to say. This was awkward enough already.

Kaoru smiled at the other boy politely, though he noticed that he was sort of....on guard, if that was right word for it. He pushed that away though, thinking maybe he just needed to play. Taking Alin's hand in his, he smiled to the other boy. "Would you like to play while we wait?"

No wonder she had asked him this, Conrad thought. The kid was far too standoffish (he assumed) Reminds me of a friend. he chuckled, knowing friend was far from what that person was to him, but they still seemed to have the same manners, and the 'don't mess with me/loner' aura. Oh well, Kaoru would fix that. Hearing Kaoru's suggestion, Conrad agreed, shooing the two off. "Go on, dinner won't be ready for another few minutes."

Alin was about to withdraw his hand upon being touched but he found his fingers tangled up in the other boy's already. That hand felt warm and welcoming to the touch, nothing like his always-cold fingers that were rough at the end from holding pieces of charcoal a bit too much.
He sighed, giving in, for the first time without feeling too bad about it. The impullsive need that made him wary of Conrad though, however much he wanted it to be different, still screamed underneath the surface, the fear that never left, still there, without a reason... but he wouldn't tell because then he would be extremely rude towards a collegue of his mother's and he'd never, ever, get to hear the end of it afterwards...

"Okay..." he agreed, glancing in between the two again. "What would you like to play?" he asked Kaoru right afterwards, attempting to smile and be as friendly as possible.

Kaoru blushed when Alin smiled. It was....pretty. He was a little too distracted, only snapping out of it when he realized what he was asked. "O-oh! Well, daddy bought me a few video games, would you like to play them with me?" Nevermind that he wasn't that great at them...But he still wanted to do something fun with Alin!

Alin was about to say he wasn't sure about it becasue he never played too many video games, but ended up nodding in agreement. Kaoru seemed eager to do this and that and it would feel hurtful -he thought- to have to decline, especially when the boy tossed the ball back at him asking if he wanted to.
"Y-you and your father look alike..." he mumbled in the end, an irrelevant thing, as he started to walk in order to move from that place. "I guess it's a good thing, huh?"
