So I read The Lightning Thief recently and enjoyed it more than I thought. I am actually really into it and it got me to do some research in Greek mythology because throughout the book I had to stop and look up the different dieties that were mentioned to fully understand the story.
And in honor of all of my hard work I thought I would open a new post.
Which Greek God(dess) is your favorite and which do you think is most like you?
My favorite is Persephone, the Queen of the Underworld. I would have to say I am most like Athena, though. Goddess of wisdom and war.

My favorite is Hades God of the Underworld. I don't really know which god or goddess I am most like.

I wouldn't say I am "like" any God or Goddess of any religion. I share qualities with some of them, but I'm not singularly like any one of them. I know which ones are closest to my heart, though.
Eros, God of Lust and Erotic Love, wielder of the Gold and Lead Arrows which cause lust or a dislike for another being. Is my current Patron, and teacher.
Dionysus, God of Wine, parties, the Theater, and great conqueror of lands, ruler of the Maenads. Was my Patron God for 18 years.
Eris, Goddess of Discord, Strife, Chaos, to some known as the gentle, caring Mother of the Universe, to others the bringer of destruction and wickedness. Is my Matron, and my protectress.
I don't know the book you're talking about. I've never heard the name before, and I've probably never heard of the author. But I've been researching Greek mythology almost all my life, its a big part of my "religion."

My favorite is Artemis the Huntress, Godess of the Hunt, Childbirth, and the Moon. I am most like her, because she has a twin brother, and has vowed to never marry/stay a maiden forever, and she's the godess of the Hunt, which isn't to say I'm an animal hater or anything, I just think it's cool. GREEK MYTHOLOGY ROCKS!!!!!!! Oh, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians is one of my all time favorite series. Just finished the last one, The Last Olympian.

I'm off topic here, but a similar thing happened to me after i read Wilbur Smiths Egyptian series, I was already into Egyptology, but now i'm OBSESSED! Especially with the Hyksos invasion of the second intermediate kingdom.
If your into your ancient fiction and your open minded to learning new things then definitely give those books a read, River God is yet to be beaten as my favourite book, its not all that difficult to read if you don't know your stuff either cause you learn as you go xD
