The Warmaster posed heroically with his arms cross over his chest as he surveyed the three youngsters before him. GOLDFUR was the fastest, but could he sit still long enough learn battle tactics? The FULLMOON pair had one strong fighter and an excellent chance for tactical work with a flying chimera, but what about the other? Lastly, WHITEHAWK; though she was younger than the other three and had the disadvantage of no chimera, she was the one that had caught his eye from the very week she'd arrived with her vicious fighting spirit. They all showed potential. "Okay! Here's the deal kids:" he barked in an exaggeratedly serious voice. "I am looking for a new apprentice and you three are going to fight it out to see who's got what it takes. You get one tag for every body - that means one for you and one for your chimera - That's.." He counted them off as he tossed them each one bright orange clip. "8 total! No rules except you have to come back when I say Game Over and don't kill each other. First one to get all the tags wins. Go!"

Caleb was wondering just what they were going to be doing. He was already fidgeting as Dragonspine surveyed the class. As the Warmaster started to talk, the boy leaned forward, eager to figure out what they were doing out here. "Alright!" He shouted as he found out they were getting to play a game.
Rex eyed his handler for a moment. "We get to play a game, Rex!" The boy grinned as the dragon's tail began to wag. This was going to be fun! The boy took their tags and fastened them onto their bodies. "We gotta get all these."
Rex nodded and glanced towards the other kids. They were getting to play together!

It might be a game on the surface, but Whitehawk was not fooled. This was a test! The winner would most certaintly become the Warmaster's Apprentice, a position she coveted both for the nearness to her hero and the skills she would learn. She clenched the orange tag in her fist, staring at her own closed hand with a steely determination. She didn't care if the other kids were older or stronger or had chimeras to help them. She was going to win!
With that in mind, she quickly slipped the tag into her pocket and turned on the boy next to her with her wings flailing and her fist swinging, hoping to knock him out and snatch his tag away.

Caleb blinked as Rex growled suddenly and pounced at the one girl in the group. The chimera didn't like the idea of this kid hitting his handler! Caleb was a bit startled and managed to get to his feet, glancing around quickly. Now was the time to use his skill at running and RUN THE HELL AWAY FROM THE CRAZY GIRL!
"Rex, c'mon!" He called, hoping she hadn't gotten the clip from the chimera before he darted away. The pair turned on the jets and got some distance between them and the others. Now... what were they going to do next? Caleb frowned. While he could probably pin the girl down, she looked mean.
Unfortunately, planning was not Caleb's strong suit.

Even as she was bowled over by the larger chimera, Whitehawk struck out with her feet, knocking the orange tag flying off into the distance. Rex's huge pawns pinned her down, his short claws digging through her clothes and into her skin. She struggle, striking at his head, but her wing connected with nothing but air. He was already gone.

Lucius looked over at Uri for a long moment as he gave his brother a pat on the head, "We are going to do well at this just watch!" He said in an overly confident manner. He watched as the others started to run forth into the game watching them closely. He looked down at the tag he was given before he lifted it up, taking hold it with his teeth. He gave a wagging of his tail before he went rushing forward toward Caleb. He loved their games thus far, they'd played tag before, had wrestled, just talked. It was because he knew that Caleb was strong that he couldn't resist going after him, he was a 'real' challenge unlike the other who was 'just a girl'.
"Eight...?" The boy went about counting Caleb, Rex, Faigal, Lucius, Eclipse, then himself, "Eight... Hmmm. Wait, Lucius?!" Uri gave up his train of thought, giving a sighing sound as his brother went tearing off into the battle without even a moment of thought. He looked a little worried by the fact that he wasn't thinking before doing, then again he rarely did... He looked over at Eclipse as he too his tag and tied it to his hair tie before giving the Phoenix a smile, "So what do you think we should do?" He asked of her, watching the battle.
Eclipse opened her many wings, giving a flap of them as she looked around. There was a girl who was on her own and the team of GOLDFUR who were being pursued by Lucius. She motioned at him, they couldn't just leave him alone in his battle, he was out numbered between Caleb and Rex and it didn't seem like it was fair.
Uri nodded, "Yeah, your right. Come on then lets see if we can catch up with him." He said, dashing after his brother with Eclipse running next to him.

Caleb and Rex had paused when they'd noticed the girl wasn't chasing them. The boy then noticed that the chimera's tag had been lost. He groaned, but spotted something coming towards them. Ah... one of the other puppy boys! His tail wagged. "C'mon, Rex. Let's get 'em!"
As the pair raced towards Lucius, the boy noticed that Uri and their chimera were racing to help. "We gotta be quick..." Since Rex had already lost his tag, the boy motioned for him to take the forward position. "Get 'em!"
Rex happily bounded towards Lucius, intent on pouncing the wolf boy like he had that mean girl just moments before.

Uri gave a groan when he saw Rex turn his attention toward Lucius, "He never thinks." He muttered to Eclipse before reaching out to pat her on the side, "You need to stop Caleb's Chimera, do you think you can?" He asked of Phoenix.
The Phoenix looked toward the mass of gold that was rushing toward the other boy before she gave a nod and was suddenly moving forward at a faster pace then Uri, all of her wings flapping rapidly to quicken her pace as she tried to cover the ground between herself and the other Chimera.
"Lucius! Look move!" Uri called out, hoping his brother would not only hear him but actually 'listen' to him. He was headstrong, over confident, and eager to dive into things where he got to prove himself. It made it a lot harder to get him to do as he was told, "Just pick a side and roll, idiot!"
Most of the words were ignored up to the insult, which caused Lucius to pause and look back. His eyes went rather wide seeing that Eclipse was coming flying toward him. His eyes darted back and forth between Eclipse and Rex before he did as he was commanded by Uri, side stepping so they were rushing toward each other instead of him being stuck in the middle.

Rex was closing in on his prey when Lucius dove to one side, leaving Rex lined directly up with Eclipse. The dragon gave a grin and continued on its way towards the other chimera.
"Rex, no! Stop!" Caleb frowned, this wasn't his plan at all... But he just stared and watched as the landrunner darted away from Lucius and angled himself around Eclipse, now aiming for Uri. "Oh." Caleb blinked in surprise. His chimera had spotted a way to get to the weakest of the trio. Or so the boy hoped.

Uri blinked a couple times as he looked at the Chimera as it side stepped Eclipse using the speed that it had and started toward him. He looked back and forth a moment before he lowered himself down to a squatting position and just waited. There was no way to out run him or to take him down alone... so he waited. He saw the way he'd taken down that other girl and was ready for it.
Lucius watched the golden Chimera as he rushed for Uri, "That is so weak." He muttered, around his orange tag, rolling his eyes. Who would purposely attack a weakling? It just showed how weak they were! "Go on Eclipse! Kick that Chimera's backside!" He called at the Phoenix, grabbing his tag in his hand before he turned and continued his headlong rush toward Caleb.
Caleb's chimera might want to fight a weakling but he didn't! He wanted a real fight!
Eclipse gave a little growl as she lowered his hands down, dragging them to help to slow her down and helped in sling shoting her around so she could change direction and raced toward Rex once more. He was a quick one and she had to hurry if she were going to save Uri from him!

Caleb grinned at Rex's strategy, then gulped a bit as Lucius headed towards him. Great... At least they weren't double-teaming him. Caleb grinned and waited for the boy to get closer before darting about, ending up behind Lucius. Speed was such an asset... too bad he didn't have any other powers...
Rex blinked as the boy he was chasing just knelt down. Hrm... would make it harder to pounce him. With an idea, the chimera put more speed on and lowered his head. He could just ram him!

Lucius gave a grumpy sound when Caleb was suddenly behind him. He paused for only a moment before he shoved himself backwards with his strong paws to ram himself into his friend. It made the battle somehow more... exciting that he was battling it out with someone that he knew! It should be harder to want to fight with Caleb but Lucius wasn't one to let such things bring him down. He had to be strong for the good of his pack after all.
Uri watched the Chimera as he charged for him, thinking on it hard before he gave a nod of his head, "Ah! Man... this is going to suck." He murmured to himself waiting until the last moment to step to the side best he could, he got a strike to his side but he rolled with it and reached out to grab hold of Rex's tail as he came by.
He tried to keep up with the speed of the other and after a moment got tripped up and drug along. He squeezed his eyes closed as he held fast, holding to slow Rex down enough that Eclipse could catch up. He could ear the sound of her wings as they got closer and closer to them, "Ahh... hurry Eclipse!"
The Phoenix gave a howling sound as she finally got close enough to attempt at tackle at the Chimera that was dragging her boy.

Caleb gave an "Oof!" sound as he didn't expect Lucius to throw himself backwards. He closed his fist tight about the one remaining tag that Goldfur team still had. Though he was a bit older than the twins, the size difference between the two boys was hardly noticable. Now was a good time to run! And run Caleb did, running towards Rex, hoping to help free his chimera and get them away from an ambush.
Rex whined a bit as Uri grabbed his tail, pulling. But he couldn't slow down. he could hear the other chimera closing in. The landrunner gathered his leg muscles and lunged forward, digging in with his front claws to spin himself around. If he had to meet this other chimera in combat, he was going to do it face to face, at least. The unexpected weight of Uri made the movement more clumsy than Rex could've hoped for, but he did get turned around... if not as fast as he'd wanted.

Uri gave a squeak as he felt Rex turn around and he released his hold on the tail, rolling away from Rex as Eclipse caught up with them. He was just barely out of the way when the Phoenix crashed into Rex. Uri's eyes went a bit wide, "Eclipse!?" He cried, wondering if she were alright after that. He took a couple steps forward toward them but decided that it was a bad idea. He didn't want to get in the middle of that battle...
Where, where was his twin?
Lucius gave a grin when he collided with his friend then gave a low growl when when he saw him running away. Blast! What was it with him and running? It didn't really occur to him that it was his skill to keep ahead of his opponents. He gave a little sound, forcing himself to think even if it weren't his forete... then tilted his head back and howled. The sound was long, loud, and would mean nothing to anyone other then the FULLMOON team.
Uri's head lifted, ears perking before he started forward. He didn't know about the plan that Lucius said but at the same time he figured it was for the best. The two of them taking on Caleb would be easier then just one on one... he was fast and the two of them together might be able to slow him down.
