Unguzo wasn't worried for Hitilafu, exactly. At least, not in a way he would willingly admit. He didn't care if she was alone, as it was the female's job to keep a cub company. A female's job to raise it, and a male's job to train it if it showed signs of promise. At least, that's how his old pride was. Of all his children, however, this one seemed to be the exception to that rule. This one wasn't strong, wasn't special. It had nearly died as a baby, and he had watched it. Something in him told him he simply didn't want that happening again.
She was his blood, after all. And he would not waste his blood.
That was a motto he applied to many things, not just justifying a paternal affection to a child he wanted to pretend didn't exist. He applied it to his fights and his training, as well. He didn't like to lose, he didn't like to gain wounds that dishonored him, and he did what he could to avoid both. Now he was agreeing to fight for a relative stranger, and he was beginning to wonder if it was a smart idea. After all, though he had been impressed the one time they had met, he didn't get to see what this Nukta could do.
He had left Hitilafu on her own today, though he had shown her how to find Dunia and told her she could only leave the cave if she was seeking the company of the older female. At least he trusted Dunia enough to keep Hitilafu out of danger. As for Unguzo himself, he wanted to alleviate some of his concerns.

He had ventured out into the bright sun for once to soak up some of the warmth. His strength had returned to him and keeping cooped up in the cave was beginning to way on his nerves. Walking got his blood moving agian and made it easier to let his mind roll over the things that needed to be done.
They had Unguzo and he appreciated the other male's determination but they needed more. He could not retake his throne without the power behind him to back it up. He knew others would come, it was just as fast as he'd hoped

Unguzo spotted the male he had met one time before, not too far off. He moved toward him, slowly, trying not to look confrontational. Unguzo had noticed that he often moved with a fight in his steps. He found it brought more interesting encounters than walking like a wuss. Besides, he was a proud creature. Why not let everyone know he was strong, and liked it that way?
But he was also fairly intelligent, and today, at least, he knew there was a time and a place for everything.
"Nukta," he called, by way of a greeting. He wasn't the best at saying hello. Mostly because he never really made acquaintances, or kept them long enough to have to greet them again. "You look well."

He turned his head when he heard someone call his name. He had not expected the male who had passed though his thoughts to show up in the flesh. He supposed there was a reason for it though.
"I feel well." He smirked slightly. Despite his dead eye and the scars littering his skin he felt almost as he had before his injuries. He would need more exercise but things were coming along well.

Unguzo looked the other male over, not really bothering to hide the fact that he was blatantly sizing the other up. Scars were of interest to Unguzo. He felt they were signs of weakness to most, even in his old pride many looked down on them. But Unguzo didn't see them as signs of losing battles. The greatest wins, after all, came from intense battles. They were signs of strength, and nothing short. The strength to survive a defeat, or to earn a victory. Either way, it wasn't a normal lion who carried battle scars.
Unguzo didn't have any. And he was very aware of it, despite how many brawls he had been in.
"Good," he said, not sounding like he meant it. He titled his head, "forgive me for being forward, but I thought I might ask you for more detail on your plans."

It was obvious to his ears that the other male was not sincere in his care for his health. He hadn't really expected it either. Unguzo's care for his health wasn't as much of a concern to him as his willingness to follow directions and obey him.
"What details as my mate spoken to you of already?" He did not know the extent of what Dunia had told the other and it would be a waste of words to explain things she had already said

Unguzo shrugged his hefty shoulders.
"Not much. She said I should talk to you, if I wanted the whole story. I'm a lion of my word, however. I already saw in you something worth fighting with, and I don't need an explanation to justify anything. Strength is earned, and right is innate: whatever it is you're doing, I'll lend my strength to aid you. You mentioned before that you're seeking a throne that's yours. I only seek details so I don't hinder you instead of helping."
He flicked his tail. He might come off as aloof and rude, and generally was, but he did have a legitimate interest in this endeavor now, and would make sure to be the fighter he knew himself to be: worthy, intense and dedicated. Even if he didn't know anything about this pride or their current king, he had already invested himself in this side of the fight.

"I plan to return to the pride with my mate, my brother will welcome me back happily i am sure. Once inside it will be easier to coordinate the take down of their guards and get my wretched brother and the other king alone."
He knew he could not afford to make the mistakes he had before and being on the inside would be better for him this time. He could make sure everyone was where he needed them before launching the attack. "I will need your strength to help take down my brother and his co regent. They are both powerful fighters." Though if he was lucky he could find a better way to rid himself of Shujaa without a fight.

Unguzo nodded. He liked the sound of that. Moving in with, hopefully, no problems would make it all the more fun when they did start their attack. He nodded, listening patiently, absorbing more than just the other lion's words as he watched him speak.
"You have it," he said with a blink, his face impassive as he referred to his strength. He wasn't too worried. There was nothing like a good fight, and Unguzo hadn't had one of those in far too long. He was a competent brawler, and could already feel the tingly excitement of his anticipation crawling through his muscles.
As far as Unguzo went, violence was generally the best and, if he had his way, the only answer. Or, at the very least, it was the most fun.
"There will be more of us, then?"

He nodded carefully. "The Pride are well trained warriors, both male and female, and it would be foolish to try to overtake them with so few no matter their strength."
He paused in his walking for a moment, tail ticking behind him. "Strategy is needed. I need those willing to fight with everything they have to take down the resistance that may exist."
He idly wondered if any of his old followers had returned to the pride and would be waiting for him.

Unguzo nodded. He wasn't much for recruiting. Actually, a young lion had wandered into these lands not too long ago. An adult but of no real stature. He had been speaking with Hitilafu, and Unguzo hadn't taken a liking to that. It wasn't much of a fight, and in the end Unguzo had sent the other lion running.
He probably would have done better by taking a different approach, Maybe asking him to join up. Ah well, lesson learned. He'd try harder next time.
"That makes sense," he said instead of sharing his error, face blank, "you seem more than capable of coming up with the strategy. When you have your followers, then you'll have some serious strength. Not excluding myself, in any small way. With both, you will be formidable." He couldn't help but grin, generally just thinking out loud, "this is going to be an interesting endeavor."

"It should be very much so." He smirked. With Du out looking for others to follow him he had no doubt that he would have the strength he would need. He would finally be able to see Rasi fall from where he should have never been.
He would have the throne and there wouldn't be anyone to stop him. Those that disagreed would just be crushed. "I look forward to seeing the look on my brothers face when he realizes i am back to take over my place"

"You know, I don't even know you're brother, and I'm looking forward to seeing that face, too," Unguzo grinned, a bit viciously. He couldn't help but like the idea of a blood bath, though from the sounds of it things would at least start a lot more reserved and contemplative than that. Still, it was invigorating, and he was jazzed.
Looking up at the sky, he wondered vaguely what his little daughter was doing. She was small, even for a young cub, and he did not like leaving her alone for too long. Now that his mind was on her he felt like he needed to go check on her, to make sure she hadn't wandered off again.
"I'll leave you to your musings now, then, Boss," he grinned at the title, ready to address him as something much more reverent when the time came, "I must return to my daughter now."
He nodded his head and then began to move off.

It would be good to see Rasi's surprise and then get to stop any expression from ever crossing his face again. It was a day he had been looking forward to for what seemed like years.
He nodded as the other turned to leave and pondered returning to his mate. He had been out long enough and she would begin to worry eventually

Unguzo grinned, thinking himself set now. Not like he had been wavering in his resolve before. It was just more reaffirmed now than anything else, and he liked the feeling. Good plans, good fights, and an interesting time lay ahead of him.
And that was exciting. A return to form. He had grown soft with the female he had grown to care for, and the cubs she had birthed by him. And now Hitilafu traveled with him. He was not the same beast of a warrior as he had been.
But maybe he would be again.
Padding back to his den, he let himself ponder all of this, his eyes dark and his expression set in a slight grin.
End!?
