The wind combed through Vincent's thick purple coat as he sat on a rock near the field in between the mansion and forest. It was mid spring now and already he could feel summer's warmth slowly beginning to take hold. He looked forward to that time of the year. Flowers and other pretty scenery to paint; it was an artists dream. Unfortunately he had been unable to concentrate and paint on anything since his last meeting with Setsuna. Ever since they parted, he could now no longer paint. He let out a heavy sigh and closed his eyes. It was becoming too much to bear. If he couldn't paint, he might as well be dead so he had resolved in himself to find Setsuna and restore his ability to paint and understand the strange emotions she caused him. Raising from his rock, he lifted his head to the wind and began to sniff about to try and locate her scent.

Setsuna was fishing for some food her way. As she brought out two fish she caught a familiar scent. "Vincent?" She looked around before picking up both of her fish and went to find him.

He was about to give up hope and just go back to lying around like he had nothing to do when he caught her scent. Today was apparently his lucky day. Rising from the rock, he slid off it and trotted off after her scent.
"Setsuna?" He called. "Are you out there?"

Setsuna's ears flicked back and forth as she head him. "Yes I'm out here. What brings you all the way here?" She darted out of the bushes before landing a huge tackle onto the male.

She sounded closer now. If he could, he probably would have been up on his hind legs dancing since he had found her, or rather, she had found him. Either way she was heading this way and he needed to see her. He felt frustrated that they had been parted for such a long time and, for once, it was not because he had lost his ability to paint. He had missed her.
"I'm glad you're out here. Would you believe that I was actually looking for you because I'm in a sort of dilemma at the momen-oof!!" He was brought to the ground by the female. He overcame his shock and buried his nose in her fur, taking in her sweet scent. "I've missed you Setsuna..." He said softly.

Setsuna chuckled a bit before dropping the fish. "Well it looks like someone's in a good mood." She nodded her head. "Actually I missed you too. Although father did have some more children with his rightful mate." She got off him before sitting down. "I'm happy for him, but sometimes I wish that I didn't bear the marks that remind him of what was." She sighed before trying to smile. "But I'm very content to be seeing you again. I don't feel quite as happy when you're not around...it's strange."

He instantly regretted her moving off of him. It had been nice...despite how uncomfortable it had been. Either way, he had enjoyed the closeness. Sitting up and shaking out his thick fur, Vincent sat down in front of her and listened to her. She sounded so sad to him whenever she spoke of her family. He wanted to see her smile, truly smile without looking so sad.
"Congratulations on more siblings. That seems fun. Many wolves in my own pack had children though they aren't well taken care of by their parents." His ears fell and he sighed. "Actually they're rather neglected but anyway, you look like your mother? Does that really bother your father?"
He studied her fur and tilted his head. He was so caught up in studying her appearance that her words finally registered in his mind.
"I... Yes, I feel the same way Setsuna." He managed a small smirk and wagged his tail. "I can't concentrate when you're away. Perhaps we should chain ourselves together so we stay happy."

Setsuna nodded her head. "Yes...it would appear so since I have her lightning mark, her paw, tail, and ear markings as well." She smiled. "But my coloring is all of my dads." She was content. "At least I can brag on that." She pondered for a moment. "Well...dad will look at me sometime and remember Aisling hoping that I don't turn out like her, but then again I would only be loyal to one male then throw myself at many." She smiled at his last statement. "Perhaps we should. Would you know where any chain might be?"

Strangely Vincent was comforted by the fact that she was not like her mother.
"Going around like that with other males sounds like a dangerous habit." He shook his head and then snorted as he thought of a male like that in his own pack. "She would get along with a male in my own pack. He recently had two litters by two different females. It's.... strange to think of someone not being faithful." He chuckled as she agreed with his last statement and he flicked his tail. "I don't know where we can find any chains but I'm sure the humans would have rope in town." He glanced in the direction of town and suddenly realized that though she had asked him what he was doing all the way out here, he hadn't even bothered to ask her. "Now that I think about it, what are you doing out here Setsuna?"

Setsuna nodded her head. "Yes it does, but I wonder what she got from it." She nodded her head. "Aye although we have one in our pack who doesn't mind being called a whore or slut." She shook her head. "But deep down I know she has some other issues." Setsuna listened to his last part. "Well that sounds good." She looked towards the towns direction as well. "Me doing out here? Well I was just going for a walk through the woods. I do like those afterall."

"I feel sorry for the female in your pack. To be called those names and to accept that from everyone else...." Vincent's voice trailed off as he tried to image how anyone could tolerate that for long. It didn't seem healthy. "She must feel like a painting that everyone ignores. Poor girl..." He shook his head and listened to her mention liking walks. That seemed rather nice and what better way to clear his head than a nice walk through the forest. Glancing at Setsuna he gave her a nervous smile.
"If you like them so much, would you like to take a walk with me?" He asked, ducking his head down. "We could catch up what we've missed the last few months we've been apart."

Setsuna sighed. "I guess, but she always says this one saying, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names can never hurt me," She paused for a moment. "Truthfully I don't think she aims for settling down either. She looked back at him. "I might have asked this, but do you have a family?"

Turning from Setsuna, Vincent chuckled to himself and started to head towards the forest. He had heard that saying used many times by the humans that inhabited the shop and mansion.
"That seems to be easier said than done sometimes but if it works for her, I'm glad." He shook his head. "It never worked for me at least. Being teased and called names is hard to ignore sometimes. He glanced at her when she questioned about his family. Family? He tilted his head to the side and pondered over that.
"Family...? I don't really remember them that much. I was born around the whole Christmas season so I never really got a chance to know my mom or dad." He flicked his tail. "I hate the holidays...."

Setsuna shrugged. "I do agree with you on that. She is rather strong in spirit." The second part that Vincent said sort of shocked her. "Really?" She wasn't sure what to say. "So...you hate the holidays." She didn't know if she wanted to pester him about why or let it rest. She decided to try to switch the topic. "Well...what do you think about winter?"

Her question about winter made him think of the cold nights he'd spent cuddled up with the other wolves in the house near the roaring fire. He closed his eyes and could remember the smell of fresh pine from the christmas tree his human pulled in from outside and the smell of freshly baked sugar cookies. While he hated the holidays for taking him away from his family, he had to admit that winter was a wonderful season.
Slowly opening his eyes, Vincent glanced at Setsuna and smiled.
"I love the smells of winter. The smell of cookies and wood burning in the fireplace are comforting to me. " But it was spring now and that was just as exciting. There were so many colors to capture and paint in spring and he wanted to share them all with her. "But winter is done and over with. The best season is just starting! Don't you love spring? The flowers and the colors and the sights and smells. They're all so wonderful!"
He hadn't noticed but he was playful bouncing around her, his eyes closed as he enjoyed the feeling of the sun on his fur. He felt so happy and carefree and he was beginning to forget why he sought Setsuna out in the first place.
