I have been reminded that magic is used in different ways in the different universes. So here's my theory...
To use magic we must focus on the small. Atoms, electrons, protons, neutrons, quarks. All these and nothing is impossible (not that it ever is or was). If only we could harness the ability to do this, and yes, I know it is all psychonics (it always was). Anyone willing to help in research on how this is possible for us has my ear and will of course need to be protected from those who would fear us. I ask that all who desire this power aid me for our benefits and for those who would fear us and maybe as a guild we can become the most powerful beings in the world.
This is my proposal and nothing more...

Lord KhazHeron To use magic we must focus on the small. Atoms, electrons, protons, neutrons, quarks. Kind of gets blown to bits at the first supposition. People have been using magick prior to the discovery of these elements, and reported results - so too have people been using magick without ever focusing on atomic structure and got the same. Why would you need to "focus on the small"?

Lord KhazHeron Two words: Limitless Capabilities That doesn't really answer my question. You're saying by concentrating on atoms, you can do anything? Dr. Manhattan aside, how does that one work?

That one works by focusing on the scientific side of magic. Which is, that since no atoms actually touch they can be shifted to our will. Thus making it possible to fly, float, shape shift, create things out of nothing.
I know the theory behind it, but because we are raised being told that thigns are 'solid' it cant easily be changed in our minds.

That's an enormous leap of logic - atoms don't touch, therefore we can move them with our minds?

The atoms not touching is scientificly proven. I'm just saying, that theoritically, if we could over come the block we have on that, that we would be able to do anything. The mind is still a vast mystery even to scientists. They have only explored a minute portion of it. So by all means there is plenty of things that remain unknown.
Besides, no where did I actually say anything about using our mind to move them. Though given it is possible. Ever hear of people who can bend spoons by looking at them? Or telekenisis?

"Shifted to our will" kind of implied it. Besides, it was your inference I take issue with - saying "if we could use manipulate atomic structure at will, we could do anything" is a dandy theory, but that doesn't mean the first part is true or possible and we're all just blocked from doing so somehow. It's like saying "If we could generate a very strong kinetic force, we could fly", "if we could hold our breath for longer, we could swim underwater longer", "if we could fire magic lasers from our eyes, we'd be awesome". Yes, the first part does infer the second, but it doesn't mean the first part is possible in the first place. I'm not saying telekinesis is impossible, I'm saying that Khaz is treating magick as though it's all about atomic manipulation, and I'm wondering why that is since people have successfully performed magick without needing to know of the existence of magick at all.

And it is possible that magic always had to do with the atomic base of everything. All I was doing was throwing out a theory. And if you don't believe that no atoms touch, research it. Regardless of the compound, there is an infinitesimal space between every atom.
Going to the 'blocked' part, have you ever noticed that people who believe that magick is evil, that they can do no single aspect of it, or that people who believe that there is no such thing as ghosts, can not see them?
I do understand what you are getting at, but all i was doing was throwing out a possible reason for what Khaz was saying.

Seems while I was away this conversation got interesting thank you for seeing this as I mean't for it to be interpreted. However I must say that I'm treating magic in its more Mental and Psych side than its ooh I lit a candle and said a poem on a specific site Spiritual side (not to offend anyone but I'm seeing magic in a rational and scientifically plausible point of veiw so that most things can be explained).

To you, Khaz, what IS magic.
I shall provide Uncle Crowley's definition because I like it the best: "Magic(k) is the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will."
Now, in my experience this is concentrating on something that you want to happen as if it is happening and then asking spirits to help you. Or your higher self, or what have you. Then raising energy and sending the spell off into the universe and letting Fate take care of it from there.
To you, Khaz, what IS magic?
