 The rain. Elua loved it. And she loved dancing out in it, while the rest of her family and group tucked themselves away in the cave they would sleep in tonight. Though it was mid-day, only enough sun to provide half-light managed to shine through the clouds, but it was enough for the brown cheetah to see by. Make sure she didn't wander too far from the cave.
Giggling and humming like a child, she danced from puddle to puddle, gleeful for the shower. It reminded her of when she was still small as Leru, and the mud puddles that left only her legs muddy now would have left all of her muddy. Except her ears.

Alastair trudged through the rain, it felt oddly relaxing to what he was use to. Hot days never appealed to him, and he felt the dirt run off his pelt in muddy water droplets. Only his paws were brown from splashing through puddles. He carried on, then lifting his head, heard a noise. It wasn't to far away, but he couldn't quite tell what it was. Deciding it would be alright to take a look, he turned slightly to the left, and continued his pace.

Elua continued her humming, gleeful and dancing through the puddles. At least until a faint scent caught her attention. It was very faint, dampened by the rain...but it was there. Blinking, the cheetah looked about until she spotted a larger form. Well! Another creature?
Broad smile on her face, she trotted towards the form. Elua was never one to shy away from a new face. And she tended to try and be first to greet said face. "Hello out there!"

Alastair stood a moment. Well obviously this girl was no threat, as she yelled hello and ran up to him, he was utterly speechless. He hadn't known what to expect, but this wasn't what he'd ever think.
"Hello Miss" He called as he continued to walk forward, he suddenly became more aware of how soaked his pelt and mane were, and his muddy feet.

Elua was just as soaked, and quite muddy as well. And she looked perfectly fine with it. Now that she was closer to him, she noticed he was actually the color of good, fertile soil after the rains. It looked rather dashing on him.
"I'm Elua, a wanderer in this world of beauty. And who do I have the pleasure of meeting today?" She wondered if his name fit his appearance. She hoped it did. It was always nice when the two things matched.

Alastair smiled at the female cheetah, she was amazing looking even wet, he did like earth tones as much as the next. "My name is Alastair, miss. And who does this male have the pleasure of meeting? Elua? Thats a fine, beautiful name." He felt dry suddenly, and he gave her a crooked smile. The rain was suddenly not a problem to him anymore, and he looked up to see if it was still raining. It was.

"Alastair...the sound of it suits you!" She chuckled. "A handsome name, for a handsome lion." Elua knew beauty when she saw it. And she wasn't one to let it go unnoticed. Especially when they seemed to not mind it.
"So what brings you out in this life-giving weather?"

"Traveling," He shrugged, "I don't much have one place I call my own." He looked around at the grey sky, the brown and green grass and mud, and smiled. "What is a lady such as yourself doing out in this weather?"

Ah....another like she and her family. She hummed a bit in assent. "Mmm...to travel until one finds a place where they belong...It is the fate of some of us." She chuckled. "Not that I mind however. I love seeing the world, and all the beauty and love it holds." She purred. "I came out to enjoy the life-giving rain. When this is over, the land shall be rejuvenated and the beauty of life shall show once more."

He gave her a smile, she was nice and friendly. "You care for this earth very much?" he pawed at the mud, swirling it around. She was right, once the rain stopped, it would be green around here again. He looked back up at her, "So Elua, you travel...in a set direction? Or where ever the wind takes you?"

Elua nodded. "I see no reason not to...the earth is full of beauty, and can love one back just as much as one loves it." The cheetah knew it from the way the earth sent beautiful scents and beautiful sights for one to enjoy. How she could see the beauty in even the smallest dung beetle.
"I just follow the wind. She takes me where she thinks I'm needed, or where there might be something exceptionally beautiful." It was a good way to travel, Elua thought. Sturdy and sound in reasoning...for her.

Alastair nodded, "Same," He purred. "I love to see things I never have before." He looked around at his surroundings, everything was beautiful, like she had said. "You too," he added softly, "Are beautiful." And that was not a lie. She was the first cheetah he had ever seen, and he loved the colors of her pelt, and her personality was very nice. He hadn't met anyone like her.

Elua took his flirtation in stride...and returned with some of her own. "Mmmm...and you are very handsome." She made the odd sort of half-purr/half-chirr cheetahs made, dancing close to him. "Perhaps you'd join me for a dance? There's plenty of music around us..."

Alastair's chest rumbled in a deep purr. "Of course mi'lady, but I have to apologize in advance, in case I step on your toes." He made a silly wiggling like prance, and nudged her playfully.

The cheetah just laughed: a bright, guileless sound. "No worries! Just incentive for me to learn to move with you~" Though there was a hidden invitation in her eyes, there was also the bare truth of her words: if she moved with his dancing, she wouldn't have squished toes. Elua nudged him back. "Think you're ready, great dancer of the savanna?"
