01/18/2006 Dear Journal, Wow... I don't think I've ever done this before... *huff* Well, might as well give it a shot, after all, what's the worst that could happen neh? Joi... Joi's been being difficult after she found out her mother and I are going to have another baby... I gave her a sound spanking and a firm talking to... I hope it works... If it doesn't... I'll have to ground her... Like I could do worse than spank her tho... Anyway, I'm excited about the new child... I hope Joi will show it love and care... I hope Mo comes back soon... Dizzy's starting to get a little worried... I can tell.

01/28/2006 Dear Journal, Joi is behaving better, that's a start... Hopefully it's a sign she's ready to act her age, and well I hope she is. Dizzy and I are going to need help with the baby, I mean, we handled Joi well, but still, the more help we can get the better. It takes a village to raise a child you know... Or at least that's how the saying goes, and Dizzy, Joi, and I are our own special little village all our own. I should prolly visit Tiff and tell her the news, I doubt she'll care tho, she's rather... Closed when it comes to stuff like that. I really wish she would lighten up the constant arrogance and coldness is starting to definatly rub on my nerves. She thinks that we're better than everyone else here... Sure, we've got something in the looks department but we're not gods... Regardless, Joi is getting better about it and for that I am glad. I really am hoping to not have to do what I did to get her this way again, but Guardian's help me I will if I have to, if I've learned anything it's that I can't be the good guy all the time. Well I better put this up and get something to eat... I'll keep you informed, Vale out...

Wow, it's been awhile since I've worte in this... I've got a bit to update.
Been pretty quiet till a few days ago, when Lucius came home sick with a girl supporting him. She's cute... But I wonder... Is it a good thing for him to be hanging out around her... She seems kind of... I don't know... Mysterious...

To say that nothing is going on would be a lie. I have a plan in motion that will hopefully sweep my lovely wife Dizzy off her feet! I am going to take her to this one really nice spot out by the lake, you can see almost all the stars out at night... I'm going to woo her again! Back like in the old days when we were younger!
I am going to make it a night that she will never forget!

Quote: Ah, so someone has caught your eye hmm? No-no, don’t tell me, I can see it in your eyes, that love-sick look. They really mean a lot to you huh? Well that’s good! People need someone special to be with them through all the rainstorms of life. Without an anchor, someone to hold onto, we’d be lost now wouldn’t we? So you must want something special for them hmm? Something to show them that they’re so special you don’t want anything else? Well I just have the thing! Well that is… I would if I had the materials for it! I’m going to need three things if I’m going to make it. I’m going to need the base material for it, the setting, and the gem itself. Now the materials I’m going to leave up to you, since you know what your chosen mate would like better than I would, and I would like the mention the better the quality of the material, the better job I can do. Though, with my talent, anything will do. Now where you go about getting these materials is all up to you, though might I make a few suggestions? The best gems I’ve ever seen are found in the caves deep under To’ul… Though, most of them are hard to find, and the inhabitants down there aren’t too keen at letting Pae take their gems. Though I’m sure you can manage to get something if you’re cunning and careful about it. Now, in my professional and personal opinion, the best place to get the base material for this kind of pendant is probably the Loki Nei forest. There are all sorts of wonderful things just lying around there! Did I say lying around? Whoops, I meant guarded by Fae or Animal spirits… Haha… Anyway, I’m sure if you’re smart you can find something good. Let’s see, the best place to snag a setting would probably be the lake, lots of good magical adhesives there I’ve found, really your fair pick. Though, being as there’s a lot of water, you might have to get your feet wet. Oh, and watch out for the eels, they’re a bit snippy… ((Note: A setting is traditionally a metal “cage” meant to hold a gem in place on a piece of jewelry. Usually it is soldered in place after the gem is fitted. In the case of this quest, feel free to use anything that might hold the gem to the base material.)) Well there you go! Now I’d love to help you go look, but I’ve really got a few things I have to work on, so good luck! After having visited the Fae to find out what all he needed to do, Vale was a bit stumped. While the suggestions were nice and all, he wasn't sure if he had the ability to find everything he needed. But... He was going to... He wanted to make this special for Dizzy, so special in fact, that Dizzy would never forget it!

Vale decided first and foremost that he was going to go to To'ul. For one, even though Loki Nei was closest... He needed the gem first though, so he could build the ring around it. Frankly, he wanted the ring to be perfect, which meant seeking out the best of the best.
Heading to To'ul was the easy part. It was the heading into it that slowed him down. Having never explored To'ul before, Vale was at a disavantage. Taking a deep breath, he entered the gaping maw of the entrence and started down.
...
When his eyes finally adujusted he'd found he'd gotten himself quite lost, and in doing so, was starting to wonder if this was a bad idea. He couldn't use his power down here... The lightning would strike the mountain sure, but it wouldn't enter the cave, there was no way it would punch through the rock.
Shaking his head, he turned right, then left, then two more rights before he stumbled into a suddenly bright patch of light. "Ack!" He threw up his arms to cover his eyes, "Well that's bloody unexpected..."
"Well if you weren't wandering into people's camps, you wouldn't get blinded now wouldya'?" A strange, almost raspy voice suddenly boomed in his ear.
Vale jumped and spun around, opening his eyes and swinging his staff.
It passed right through the man's head, as if he wasn't there... It didn't even upset the brightly glowing miner's helmet...
Vale's eyes grew wide. He was in trouble now!
He'd never dealt with a ghost before... Taking a deep breath he chuckled weakly. "Sorry, I didn't know there was somebody down here..."
"Yeah, yeah... I get that a lot...." The Ghost Miner grumped, shaking his head and crossing his arms. "Poor ole' O'Leery, lost in the shaft, don't know where he is, mining till the day he dies..." The ghost seemed rather grumpy.
Vale wasn't sure how to handle this situation so he decided to go with the route he thought was best. "Well, when I get out... I'll tell everybody about you... Maybe they'll come down and find you? Give you a proper burial?"
The Ghost laughed. "Good luck getting out of here!" He smirked. "I've been lost down here for years, and you don't seem all that sure of where you are yourself."
Vale suddenly felt challanged, so he puffed up and declared, "I know exactly where I'm going, and I know what I'm doing and I know the way out! Do you want my help or not!"
The Ghost suddenly jolted back, laughing. "Alright, I'll make you a deal then... You take my hat..." It pointed to the hemlet laying on a rock by the way he'd come in, the real source of the light. "Out of here... and you can have the gem I used to make the light... Once that leaves here, I should be able to find my final peace."
Vale swallowed but nodded. "Accepted!" He rushed over and picked up the helmet before the ghost could change his mind. With the light source, he was able to tell where he was far better than before, and he started to backtrack out of the tunnels.
Once he saw light, light that was not his, he started running, sprinting out into daylight.
The glass on the front of the Helmet suddenly shattered.
"FAREWELL!" The ghostly voice of O'Leery, whispered to him, and a gorgeous pink ruby feel out of the front of the light well. Vale picked it up... But kept the helmet with him. He'd get it repaired.... Then give it a proper burial, it was only right.

Heading into Loki Nei now, Vale kept his eyes sharp, again, he was hoping to find something that would match the ruby he'd found. Moving into the underbrush, he came near to the Fae clearing, on the far side away from his home, not wanting to get too close to it, just in case Dizzy might spot him. He looked around the brush and noticed something shining in the sun. Kneeling down, he parted the bush with his arm, looking down near the roots at a small bar of silver. "Well hello..." He chuckled, reaching down to pick it up.
Then suddenly he was on his back, and his head hurt.
"MINE!" a high pitched small voice declared. There was pressure on Vale's nose, so he looked down, and spotted the Fae standing on it, glaring down at him. "That's mine!" In it's hand... was a mallet.
Which would explain why Vale's head hurt...
Blinking Vale shook his head. "I'll trade you?" He asked weakly, lifting up the miner's hat. The glass was broken, but the light casing was still shiny.
"Why would I want some dumb hat!" The fae huffed, but looked at it greedily. "Surely you have something better..."
"Nope, I only got the hat... But if you don't want it..." Vale used his free hand to make a motion out towards the other bushes. "Could always ask one of your neighbors..."
The Fae seemed to argue with itself for a moment, before finally flying up and snatching the hat from Vale, the moment it touched it's hands, it shrunk. "Well, go ahead and take it, this is cooler... but barely..." The Fae placed the helmet on it's head.
Vale nodded, and sitting up he quickly grabbed the small bar and stood, moving quickly out of the area.
Shaking his head, he wondered what trials he would face in the lake.
And then he remembered...
He can't swim...

Once Vale reached the lake he looked around. This was going to be more than a little bit dicey. Vale couldn't swim, it wasn't so much as he'd never learned, as that, by entering the water, it hurt... He'd never really figured out why, but he had a feeling it had something to do with his power. Regardless, he took a deep breath.
This was for love, and he was going to do it...
Hoping this area was deep, he ran, and dived.
It felt like his whole body was on fire, and his muscles didn't want to work, but he forced them into action as he dove down into the dark depths, the block of silver and gem held in his mouth as he dove, one hand on his staff as he hit bottom.
It was hard to move, and he was working against the clock, he saw no eels, like the man had said, but maybe they were in another part of the lake. It was academic at any rate... His hand dug into mud, and he started to feel around for something that would work as a setting for this ring.
His fingers graped around something slick and slimey... Then there was a flash of pain...
Raising his hand, he discovered that he had an eel bait trap on his hand... The metal cage trapped around his hand.
He'd of laughed at the irony, but decided it would be better for him to surface with the small steel box instead. Maybe the ring would have that unique feel he was looking for. Surfacing, he made his way back to shore, and shook himself off. He still was sore, and it fell like he was coming down with a cold, but it should pass.
He made his way back to the man who had told him of these places, he had a ring to be made.

Vale reached the man in record time, having had a heck of the time getting the trap off his hand, he had all three pieces of the ring ready, so he waved the man over, then handed them off to him.
He nodded to Vale, and went into his workshop, and was in there for some time.
Vale paced, walking up and down in front of the door, rubbing his wounded wrist and fighting the sniffles from the water. Suddenly he was very nervous, what if the ring wasn't perfect, what if Dizzy hated it!
"It's done!" The man called, and Vale quickly rushed to the door. "Here you go, treat her well," The man then handed the ring in a box to Vale, then shut the door.
Vale took a deep breath, and opened the box, looking down at the ring.
It was perfect! Taking a deep breath, he turned around. "Thank you," He said to the closed door, before heading home, he had to start planning!
