i got back from a weeend trip and not all is well in my house. one of my rats died and the rest are going to the vet tomorrow, but something also happened in my tank gonk
i dont know what they are but there are loads of them! ive moved all my fish and snails into a 2.5gal and a cereal bowl. the 3 smaller fish are in the bowl and the betta, larger guppy, snails, and larges cory catfish are in the 2.5gal but there are these worm things. they look and act like bloodworms, only they are extremley thin. what are they? how can i be rid of all of them without killing my fish or uncycling my tank? i havent done anything differently and have no idea how they could have gotten there

they are pretty thin so its hard to tell, but they may be either white or a light pink from what i can tell.

Thread worms and or planaria. Harmless, caused by not enough tank maintenance and overfeeding.
Vacuum the gravel more often and cut back on feeding. How often are you cleaning the tank and how are you cleaning the tank?

probably should clean my tank a bit more, but i uncycled my tank for something and was trying to get everything back to normal. ill do some water changes, and i did overfeed them a few days before i left because no one would feed then while i was gone. but they wont hurt my fish?

No they are harmless. How long were you gone for? The fish will be fine a week without food.

My boss tore it down, rinsed the gravel, refilled the tank, added bleach, let it run for a few days, re tore it down, filled it up, treated it with water conditioner and a few days later the lil bastards were on the glass.

if you do water changes and feed lots less (maybe even skip every other day) they should go away. and no they wont crawl out so no worries
