Alastair took in a swift breath as he quickened his pace through the sun scorched ground. His feet crunched slightly on the grass. This territory was new to him, and he felt like adventuring, the thought never occurred to him that something might happen, so he carried on his way. His head swivelled to look at his surroundings, ears and eyes open for any sign of danger, or maybe even prey. He was after all, getting hungry.

Hitilafu was padding around the forest near the den Unguzo had found for them, purring constantly and just enjoying the day. She was supposed to go too far from the den, but she couldn't help but want to explore. Everything was so new and exciting! She was getting bigger, and she felt like she could handle the outside world, no problem. Her daddy would understand! She spotted a lion in the distance and stopped, wondering if she should go say hi. Last time she said hi to a stranger it had been totally fine! But her daddy told her not to. She frowned thoughtfully, then went for it.

"Hello!" She called as loudly as her voice would allow.

Unguzo yawned. He looked around the den. Where had that child gotten to?

He dragged himself to his feet, stretching and shaking his mane. He yawned again, not wanting to get up and go find a little cub who should know better than to go out on her own. He dragged himself to the entrance of the den, looking out and spotting her little mottled form in the distance. He padded toward her leisurely, and then saw something near her. Not too near, but more than he liked.

He growled and charged over.

Alastair stopped, bewildered. A tiny cub was racing toward him? He looked around, well..there was no one else around. He kept his pace till he got closer to her. "Hello young one," He smiled at her, then looking up, saw she was not alone. He stood, awaiting the male that approached them. He stood a bit tense, not knowing what this male might do, this was probably his young cub he happened to encounter. He gave the cub another friendly smile, "Is this your father?".

Hit laughed and was about to ask the lion a question about his dark brown fur, but then she looked and saw her daddy coming up. She smiled at him lovingly, padding over with all the innocence of a child who didn't know she was in any trouble. She rubbed his leg, apparently oblivious to his anger.

"Yes! This is my daddy!" She said, looking back at the other lion proudly.

Unguzo was not as welcoming as his daughter. He didn't look down at her, growling at the stranger and stopping. He let her rub him, not distracted. It was like he didn't even notice her.

"What are you doing, talking to my daughter? You don't know her. You don't open your mouth to her." He said sharply, growling and keeping his stern, dark green eyes on the stranger challengingly. He was just looking for a fight, it seemed, and had no intention of playing nice.

Alastairs eyes widened ever so slightly, he pushed back a tiny growl, "Pardon me, I didn't mean to barge through here. You have a nice daughter," He added, trying to loosen some of the tension. He grew more concious of the males unwelcoming posture and the growling, maybe it was best to leave. He nodded toward the cub, then at the male. "Well, if you'd point me in the right direction, I'd leave you to alone."

"How dare you deign to comment on my daughter? You've no business near her, no business speaking to or of her. Hitilafu, return to the cave, now."

The young cub, happy but a little too aware of her daddy's bad attitude and the trouble that was brewing, began to walk off. She always did as she was told, though sometimes she felt like she shouldn't. Her dad was her favorite person in the world. She just met other people that were so unlike him, sometimes she had to wonder if he could be even better. Sometimes. Ears low, she looked back at the other lion, frowning apologetically, then hopped off toward the cave. She didn't go in, lingering outside to watch.

Unguzo never took his eyes off the intruder. With his daughter gone he could really let his growls out. And that he did, a loud, rumbling sound that made a nearby tree shake enough for a couple of leaves to fall. He dug his claws into the ground, baring his teeth.

"The right direction? Whatever direction the pitiful land that demeaned itself by giving you life is in, I would suspect, is the best place for you. Not here. But you've already made the mistake of crossing me, and I don't think I'm capable of just letting you walk away."

Alastair looked back at the male, his claws dug into the ground. "Listen, I would gladly turn and never come back again, but it seems you can't let me go all because your daughter saw me." He growled, but it wasn't as fierce as the other males, "It seems you've grown to have a problem with me these past minutes." Alastair nodded his head a bit, "But you sir, are terribly rude."

"Rude?!" Unguzo feigned hurt, dropping his expression. His eyes remained challenging, though he pouted a bit and shook his head in mock woe. He couldn't hold it, however, baring his teeth in a ferocious grin, growling every word, "I suppose I'll just have to live with that part of my character."

He stepped forward, obviously combative, just wanting to see how the other male would behave. It had been so long since he had been in an actual fight, with someone he didn't like. He sparred all the time with Hyun, and had no qualms about hurting her, but she was his mate, in some odd way. Or at least a female he thought more of than simply 'breeding fodder'. She matter, in one way or another, and he couldn't let himself tear her limb from limb.

This complete stranger, however, was a different matter entirely. Plus, he wouldn't stop talking about Unguzo's daughter, and that was just not something he could take. Hitilafu was his concern, and his alone.

Alastair stood his ground, "Yes, and I suppose, I'll have to listen to it for a bit longer." Alastair felt he was no match for this lion, he had more experience in everything Alastair didn't. "I've never seen a male like you." Alastair admitted, almost as if he regretted the comment, he smiled, showing teeth, he was tense as the lion took another step. He knew if he fought this male, someone would leave, and the other wouldn't. And he knew the one that wouldn't, would probably be him.

"A male like me? You mean a real male? No, I don't suppose you would have. And I don't think you will again," he growled the threat, grinning viciously. His eyes darkened, and he was done talking. He charged forward, then stopped short, towering over the lion just to show off.

"I'm going to attack you now," he said, teasingly, "I thought you might appreciate a heads up."

And then he pounced, curling and tackling Alastair slightly from the side. He was not a fan of using his claws and teeth too soon in a fight, so he kept them until later. For now his powerful muscles were more than enough to keep him entertained. He used his powerful paws like a human might their fist, and his head like a battering ram.

Alastair yelped in surprise as he was tackled back. He hit the ground hard, and it didn't make it any better to have this brute on him. His claws tried to scratch at his belly and chest but his front paws only went through his mane. The hits he felt made him feel sick, and for the first time he felt hopeless. His hindlegs pushed up against the males lower belly, he was trying to get his legs just right, just so the male might get off of him, he might have a chance.

Unguzo was relentless, and having way too much fun. He delighted in a good fight. While this didn't look like it was going to be the best, as far as being even in skill and difficulty, it was still a lot of fun. He hadn't been able to flex his fighting muscles in so long. He laughed when the other lion kicked at him, leaping back.

Purposefully letting his opponent get to his feet.

He growled, circling. Maybe he would wait. Maybe he would see what this lion could do. He wasn't nervous. Wasn't scared. He could take this beast, he was certain. He needed the thrill of an injury, the smell of his own blood always exciting him to fight harder.

Alastair got to his feet quickly, growling. He watched the other male for a moment, trying to not visibly show his fear. He had never been trained well enough to take on a lion that had been trained in fighting. He bunched his muscles, and leapt toward Unguzo, his claws unsheathed, snarling. He pushed the unwanted thoughts out of his head, and focused on the lion. He wasn't as strong, but maybe, he was faster?

His claws raked at the lions shoulder, he was suprised, he hadn't put enough force into his leap. He was directly in front of Unguzo now, wide open. Taking his left paw he quickly slapped it on Unguzo's face, scratching his cheek.
'Oh great' he thought, 'he'll probably get even worse with rage now'. His legs trembled slightly, he was unsure how to take down a skilled fighter.

Claws! Anger! Fear! Just what he wanted to see. He circled, then stopped, letting the attack come. He braced himself, strong muscles coiling in preparation, watching as if in slow motion as his opponent attacked. This was what he needed. He felt his own reactions, a mixture of 'flight' and 'fight' at once. He let neither win, staying in place as if his paws were glued to the floor.

He flinched when the claws hit his shoulder, but not because it hurt. That was the exciting part. He flinched because he was so close to the other lion he felt like he could easily lash out and bite him in half. He locked eyes with his opponent, and then felt the claws meet his face.

That was enough.

With a roar he attacked, claws flashing, returning the blow to his face with a vengeance that almost seemed over the top. Circling to the side quickly, he tackled him against, using his claws now to try and rip him to pieces. He was all growls and roars, not holding back now that his own blood had been spilled.

Alastair's head reeled, the hit to his face made his vision blur. He knew he was bleeding as soon as the other male had struck him. He couldn't see out of one eye, closing it, he growled, and struck out with his unsheathed paws helplessly. He never could get more then scratches on the male, he hadnt ever had to depend on one eye.
