was browsing through the Avon book we have, usually I find NOTHING of interest at all, but then i happened across this:

i thought some of the wonderful ladies here would find this awesome XD. Im going to save up and order some, it sounds like it would smell fantastic ^^, then when people ask what perfume I had on I think it would be fun to say "oh, its just Absynthe." XD.

**did Avon spell Absinthe wrong? ive seen it spelled both ways though...hmmm**

Wow I wouldnt mind picking some of this up... but absinthe has a bit of a licorice flavour... and well... I woudnt want to smell like licorice...

It says in the description that it's a "mysterious potion of sexy florals and rich woods inspired by the magic of absynthe." That means it's not absinthe-scented perfume, it's perfume called Absynthe that is inspired by absinthe. That said, you don't have to worry about smelling much like licorice. xp

Absinthe is flavored with anise and a variety of wormwood - specifically Absinthe Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) - which related to tarragon. The less mysterious and more widely imbibed Jägermeister is also flavored with anise. The flavor from the anise seed is of course similar to the licorice root's flavor, but the anise and licorice plants are completely unrelated.

I'm curious as to what this perfume actually smells like.

Thanks for the update, though I already knew that. Just doing my best not to confuse anyone, since Anise is an uncommon herb. And since it smells like anise, which smells pretty much exactly like licorice... which EVERYONE knows the smell of... Eh... why even bring it up?

Thanks for the update, though I already knew that. Just doing my best not to confuse anyone, since Anise is an uncommon herb. And since it smells like anise, which smells pretty much exactly like licorice... which EVERYONE knows the smell of... Eh... why even bring it up?

Every bottle of absinthe i have ever tried smelled rather horrid really.
i even got some of the stuff with actual wormwood in it shipped over by a "ahem" friend and beleieve me that stuff messes you up, no wonder oscar wylde was off of his rocker.

You know it's not illegal, right? It also doesn't have any hallucinogenic effects, nor is it supposed to smell horridly. What brand did you get, and from what country?
