As the sun rose over the Mountains, the valley began to flood with light. There between the Darton Mountains and the Great Lake , sat the small village of Dob. The village was part of the kingdom of Kylemore which had just lost their Queen. The queen never married and had no children to assume the throne, thus it was passed to her younger brother Phillip. Under Phillip, the kingdom began to fall. Phillip was very evil and unkind to the people, who his sister had cared for so dearly. He was also very involved in dark magic. Phillip’s court was comprised of sorcerers, witches, and fortune tellers all which he used to harm the people of Kylemore. However on the eve of his coronation one of the fortune tellers came to him in his chamber with grave news. She said “Born this day in the city of Dob, is a boy. This boy is the son of a fallen star and a human. He will resist your reign and will fight back. If he does you will fail!” At once Phillip called for his captain of the guard, Protus. “see to it that all the male children born in the city of Dob for the last month are killed. I will not have some boy ruin my plans for this kingdom.” And it was so that all of the male children were killed. All except one, Teis Stellapolvere, who was not born in the city of Dob, but just beyond in the Darton Mountains. He was as the teller had said, the son of a fallen star and a human mother. Teis’ mother gave birth to him alone, for she too knew about what the future held for her son. She also knew that he would have some of his fathers gifts. So after he was born , Teis’ mother, Abbey, took him to the last place Phillip would look for him, in the Castle city of Kylemore. There he grew up, learned about his powers and took care of his mother. Teis was 17 when they took his mother away and put her to work for Phillip in the castle as a court girl. This is where the story begins.
