BoxCarRacer.com was undergoing a new registration system. Well it is now complete and all comments (except for the videos) plus existing memberships have been deleted. There are also a couple of very slight changes to the site. If you want your existing boxcarracer.com membership again you better go sign up there now before someone else takes your name!

Im not sure why Geffen would overhaul a registration system for a band that doesnt exist anymore, but maybe it's a good sign...

"This has been a crazy few weeks.....we have started our last song, and we had this little rule about 9 months ago, which said every new song we did had to be better than the last....well, there was no way I thought that really was possible....but it happened. This last song has given me the chills every time I hear it. Ryan just finished some bass tracks in-between episodes of Ali-G, and me and David have been taking long walks on the beach at sunset with our shirts off. There is also quite a little treat coming to you on my birthday....I promise that you will love it.
We have spent quite a lot of time planning how to make a new era of rock and roll, and this film and album i think are going to help with that. Imagine a record with 6-7 minute long songs, full of anthemic melody and long intro's, but it sounds totally different....like the next step you would expect. A couple of song titles....The Adventure....Valkyrie Missile...It Hurts....I am building the website right now, it will have clips of the film, song excerpts, photos, merchandise, video stills, and clips as well. It will be here with in 30 days or so. "who do we think we are........we are Angels and Airwaves"

You can check it out > HERE <

"Maybe you children would be interested in knowing that I am working on posters and t-shirts designed by one of the lead artists from Star Wars....maybe you would like to know that you will be able to have these limited pieces by joining an official section of the Angels and Airwaves site that will feature extra songs, photos, merchandise etc... Maybe I am not wearing any pants right now and maybe, just maybe someone will give you kisses for Halloween. By the way don't go see that movie Wallace and Gromit, there are no sex scenes at all.....I had pizza for dinner and it made me il.....oh yeah, the site will launch on my birthday, and if you join the fanclub on it you will hear music, see clips of the movie and be able to buy limited addition merchandise...We will also stream concerts on it, and you will have access to the band members directly....grab yourself a photo of a beautiful sunset, put the "AVA" logo on it, and prepare for something magical---"

Heres what you can expect on the Greatest Hits Album:

The CD booklet is basically just lyrics to all the songs (except Another Girl, Another Planet) with pictures of Blink in and around them.
The back cover has all the song titles in fancy font and a picture of blink (the same one that is on the flash start of blink182.com).

The version of Carousel is the one off Chesire Cat, not Buddha and Dammit and Josie have been slightly remastered (Dammit has the same audio as the video they made for it which is slighty different to the version off Dude Ranch). Man Overboard is not live (as credited from some outlets) and as we previously reported first, there is a Not Now video. Australia also got a bonus track- Aliens Exist Live in LA (which was a bonus on the Aussie Enema Of The State) so no idea if America or other places will get that, but I doubt it.

Scott Raynor is credited for drums on Carousel, M+M's, Dammit and Josie.
Mark and Travis are no longer with Rick DeVoe Management, but Tom still is...

I read a few people were planning on only buying it for the booklet so if thats the case then I would save your money. Theres really nothing new. But support Blink and buy it!
The Australian Bonus DVD is pretty awesome. It has Whats My Age Again, Anthem Part II and Carousel all Live in Chicago 2001. Making of Feeling This and I Miss You videos, and Down (recording the Blink-182 album and Down video).

Mark would like to thank....
everyone who made this happen. Thanks to Geffen Records. CAA. Thanks to the fearless and amazing blink-182 road crew, you are my extended family. Thanks to Skye and Jack Hoppus. Thanks to the entire Hoppus, Everly, Wernz, Orrenmaa, and Gardner families. Thanks to everyone who has worked on the recording of the blink-182 albums. Fender Basses, Ampeg Amplifiers, GC Pro, Audix Microphones, Ernie Ball Strings, Dunlop Tortex Picks, KROQ and all the radio stations who have supported us, MTV, FEA. But most of all thanks to all the fans. This is all because of you. I cannot thank you enough.

Tom would like to thank....

I would also like to say a special thanks and R.I.P to Rigger Dan and Steve Stone.

There is a very interesting and long interview MTV has done with Tom DeLonge. Its main focus is on Blink not Angels & Airwaves, so check it out:

http://www.mtv.com/bands/b/blink_182/qa_fe...feature_103105/

Here's an excerpt:

MTV: Both Hoppus and Barker have remained vague about the whole Blink situation, but they have spoken on the matter. Meanwhile you've remained silent, and as a result, many fans seem to believe that you were somehow to blame. Care to set the record straight about just what happened?

DeLonge: The reality is, at the end, when we decided to take this break, our priorities were mad, mad different. My priority was my family, and my life had to be structured in a way where I had to be around for my daughter. She was 2 years old at the time. And they wanted to keep touring, and it didn't work out to where our priorities were the same. But I'm sure a lot of people think that [I'm to blame]. All I want to say is that the last words that were said to me by my bandmembers were, "If your family is going to be your priority, then you better be cool with the repercussions," whatever that means. That was the last thing that was said to me. And I think there was a lot of paranoia and a lot of bitterness between all of us.

At the same time, it's not like they didn't love their families or love me, I just think that in the heated exchanges that were happening, it became evident that the ways we view our lives and want to live our lives now that we're older are just different. I couldn't imagine doing my work if I wasn't able to totally pick and choose how to be there for my family, because at that point they really needed me, and I don't think those guys understood that or didn't want to understand that. But at the same time, their lives are totally different. Travis is able to handle a lot more things in his life than I can, and the same goes for Mark. But at the same time, they're still great guys. Travis is the best musician I've ever played with, and Mark is a super-sweetheart, my best friend for a decade. But I think that the way all the s**t went down, when money and fame entered into the equation, and the way we were all growing up and having kids, I think we all just grew apart.

There is a cool Blink 182 Greatest Hits e-card which you can check out > HERE <

Just on the Greatest Hits album, I can tell you it is doing very well in terms of sales. After only 4 days since its release it is already #5 in Australia. In the UK it is #6.
I will try and get a report up after a week of release to see how it has faired in the US, UK and Australia. It looks like heading to #1!
