After a long day of apartment hunting, Writ was On the swings of a Middling playground, busy smoking the evening away. It was a lot harder than he first thought, he needed things like social security numbers and licenses and proof of age...
Writ didn't have any of that, which in turn, closed out most of the city for him. He would have to settle for a Downers apartment. The landlords around there didn't ask questions so long as you could cough up the cash each week-- Which wouldn't be such a problem, since his main source of income nowadays were stolen wallets and drained credit cards. it was too much of a risk to just get a job somewhere, you never knew when a Blacksuit was watching.
He shifted his weight slightly, his feet dragging and pushing the gravel underneath it.

Izzy found himself wandering into the park again. He had planted the seeds, but now he had to come check on them. The sun was setting, and Izzy was jumpy. Thoughts of the bullies he'd run into last time still haunted him, and he was pretty sure Tepin wouldn't be here this late. Trying to be as quiet as possible he headed towards the buildings that housed the bathrooms. He would use those as a way to get his bearings, because, to be honest, the playground looked scary empty right now. The closer he got to the bathrooms, and the playground, the hairs on the back of his neck began to stand up. It was almost like with every step he got a small shock from the dirt. "M-m-man up!" He whispered to himself, wringing the strap of his backpack and rounding the corner of the bathrooms, chin up- Until he noticed someone was in the playground. And that the shocks from the dirt had gotten strong. Ducking back behind the building, Izzy realized he was breathing had gotten faster, and the his sight was sharp. Groaning softly he sat down against the building, fighting off the panic attack. He'd always been easily scared, but now with the new worry of players and the game he couldn't even see a stranger at night and not react! Head in his hands, Izzy fought back tears of frustration and concentrated on slowing his breathing. He had a job to do. Pushing himself up he walked around the corner, trying to be as quiet as possible, reciting 'Please don't see me please don't see me' with every step.

Writ was blowing smoke until he heard someone. His ear twitched. He looked up to see who was it. No one there. His eyes closed, focused on the sound of the air, of the shuffle of someone's feet coming over from--.
He opened his eyes and looked northward. That way.
The footfalls were too slight to be from an adult, probably a stray teenager at most. Writ grinned. Some mischief was in order. He got on the ground, and changed into a coyote. Quietly, ears raised, he walked across the playground and towards the boy's footfalls. It had been a while since he's done some actual hunting, he didn't want to get rusty.
"Please don't see me Please don't see me Please don't see me"
If coyotes could smile, Writ would have. The kid he was stalking had godling aura on him. Even better! This promised to be entertaining. He went back on his two human legs and put his hand on the kid's shoulder. The man's shadow towered over the boy.
"Just because I can't see you doesn't mean I can't hear you."

Izzy had kept his eyes glued in front of him, that is until something touched his shoulder. Freezing up, he couldn't even make himself scream. Couldn't turn. The electric pulse pounding up from the ground told him to run, run, run. But he couldn't. Instead he managed a single stumbled step forward... and down. Landing on his hands and knees he let out a mangled squeak. "P-p-p-p-please d-d-don't k-kill me!"

Writ wanted to laugh. Geez! Gods sure knew how to pick them nowadays. It was a surprise he lasted this long. If the bloodthirsty teenagers didn't get him, then some upstart newbie would. Writ was confident that he knew all the adults, and none of them were terribly interested in the business of kid killing.
This godling should be considered lucky, if it were anybody else, Writ wouldn't be so sure of his fate. Still, he wanted to have a little fun with him. maybe instill some survival instinct into the kid.
"Come on kid, is that really how you're gonna die?" Writ grabbed the newbie's shoulder, stood him up and turned him around, his golden eyes staring intently into the kid's, "A real man faces his death with both eyes open and both fists raised."
He took a step back in a stance to show the newbie, "Like this." Writ smiled, "Come on, try it."

Letting himself get stood back up, Izzy stared, dumbfounded and scared to death into the mans eyes. They shone like gold, reminding him of the bracelet on his arm. Eye traveling up to his pointed ears, Izzy quickly reached the conclusion that this man was a Player. Had he said he was going to kill him? No, but he hadn't said he wasn't not going to either. Something about what he said though reminded him of similar words he'd been told: 'Man up' and 'Assertive'. Izzy watched as the man stepped back and put his fists up. And he had a feeling if he wanted to get away he should just go along with what the obviously older and more experienced player wanted. Putting his own fists up, he felt exposed. Shrinking his arms back to touch his torso, he stared intently at the man. "Th-th-this?"

"No, no, like this! And spread your feet out." Writ went over to the godling and pulled his arms out in front of him, in a sort of Bruce Lee, Kung-Fu movie pose, "Like you know what you're doing, and you're not going to take their s**t."
He took a step back, looking at his work. Not bad. Writ hoped that the new godling wouldn't take his instructions to heart, all the times he fought he had wing it. It'd take a lot more than a cool fighting pose to stop a Blacksuit. Still, it was hard to see someone so timid play the game. What kind of god would choose someone like him?
"Okay, you got that down." Writ beckoned the kid, "Now you gotta look fierce."
"You know" He yelled, "get angry! Scream!!"

Izzy almost fell when the man adjusted his stance. He was trying hard to concentrate, keeping his mind distracted to prevent himself from curling into a ball and crying. He felt awkward and lanky standing like this... but if he said it would help protect him... 'Fierce' was a new concept to him. Did that mean... mean? When the man yelled he jumped. "Uh-I... A-angry? B-b-but there's n-no reason t-to be angry." His eyes shot right and left before staying glued to the man in front of him. "I-I don't want t-to bother anyone..."

"You don't have to be angry, you just have to act angry." Writ nodded, "Like this."
He took a small jump, and ran towards Izzy, letting out a hoarse roar from his throat. His arms wound up for a punch. There was a predatory glint in his eye. It was a bluff, but if there was anything he learned from Coyote it was how to be a convincing actor. His whole body relaxed as soon as he got close to the new godling. It was homicidal madman to friendly neighborhood godling in one step.
"Name's Writ, nice to meet you." He held out a hand, "What's your name?"

Even with the warning of action, Izzy was completely unprepared for the sudden attack. Letting out a strangled yelp he tried to run backwards but found himself frozen to the spot by fear again. This was it. He was going to die. Crap. Eyes wide, mouth agape he waited for the blow. Which never came. Still in shock as the man suddenly stopped and told Izzy his name, holding out his hand, he fell backwards. Breathing rapidly he held his chest, slightly in pain from how fast his heart was beating. "I-i-i-i-" He couldn't get out the answer to the man, Writ's, question. What was his name, again? The fear had wiped his mind blank. "I-Izzy-" He finally got out in a mangled squeak.

"Izzy. Cool." Writ grabbed his hand and picked him up again, "You're fresh from the flower shop, aren't you?"
He took a breath. It may have been an act, but going in for the kill always got his blood pumping. "Sorry about that, I kinda got into it, you know how it is." Writ suspected Izzy had no idea how it was. He looked down at his feet, he wasn't quite sure how to make a good impression on a kid after nearly terrifying him to death.

"F-flower shop?" He asked, standing up with Writs help. "It's b-been closed w-when I d-drop by..." He wondered why it was closed. Looking through the shop windows, it seemed like the perfect place for him to be. So many plants... Izzy shook his head, hands going back up to grip his bag strap. "Underst-standable." He said, trying not to upset the older Godling. Watching Writ, he wondered as he looked down at his feet. Izzy remembered that they all started at children. "Wh-what are you d-doing out here?" He asked, looking around. Surely being that strong and in the game would make him a target for... someone.

"They're probably still on their honeymoon."
Looks like Izzy got into the game through that Anubis guy he heard about. It was lucky that he didn't have to go to Persy for his talisman. Writ remembered being scared of her when he started playing. It took him a couple growth spurts and a year away from her in order to have the courage to take her on with the same swagger he had on around Ciro. That's when he found out that her reputation wasn't all just rumors.
"Got nowhere to go No home, no nothing." Writ said, looking towards the setting sun, he held himself close. He looked back at Izzy, "You wanna go somewhere warmer?"

Izzy nodded, and looked forward to meeting the woman at the flower shop. Someone who grows plants can't be bad. Izzy crossed his arms and looked around. Another person with no home. At least Izzy had his hole in the wall. "Y-yeah..." It was getting dark, and thoughts of the goons on the other side of the park made him shiver. He didn't want to have to try and use what Writ had tried teaching him.

"Good thing she still is, if she knew what I was doing, she'd probably kill me." Writ grinned and looked at Izzy.
"What's got you scared kid?" He looked at the new godling quizzingly, "Nothing's gonna get you long as I'm around, where do you wanna go?" Writ laughed, being around Izzy was like dragging a little brother around.
